Threat Unification using Multi-Sensor Simulator of Battlefield Helicopter and Its Implementation (전장 헬기의 다중센서 시뮬레이터를 통한 위협통합 및 구현)

  • In electronic warfare settings, battlefield helicopters identify various threats based upon threat data, which are acquired using their multi-sensors of aircraft survivability equipment (ASE). To continually function despite of potential threats and successfully execute their missions, the battlefield helicopters have to repeatedly report threats in simulated battlefield situations. Toward this ends, the paper presents threat unification using multi-sensor simulator and its implementation. The simulator consists of (1) threat attributes generator, which models threats against battlefield helicopters and defines their specific attributes, (2) threat data generator, which generates threats, being similar to real ones, using normal, uniform, and exponential distributions, and (3) graphic display for threat analysis and unification, which shows unified threat information, for example, threat angle and its level. We implement a multi-sensor threat simulator that can be repeatedly operable in various simulated battlefield settings. Further, we report experimental results that, in addition to tangibly modeling the threats to battlefield helicopters, test the capabilities of threat unification using our simulator.

  • 소련의 헬기는 광활하고 외진 지역과 혹독한 기상조건 그리고 불비한 정비지원하에서 운용이 가능하도록, 견고하며 간편하고 일반적으로 사이즈가 크게 설계제작되었다. 따라서 편리성, 안락성, 미려함등이 요구되는 상업성이 떨어지며, 제작가공의 질이 떨어지는 것은 물론, 특히 항공전자분야가 뒤떨어진 것이 사실이다. 또한 무기체계에 대한 사용상의 철학관계로 장기사용에 대한 배려가 부족하나, 가격이 저렴한 장점이 있다. 현재 소련의 헬기산업이 안고 있는 문제는 기술문제가 아니라 자금상의 문제이다

Analysis of the Helicopter Fire Attack Pattern on Forest Fire Behavior (산불진화 헬기의 물 살포유형 분석에 관한 연구)

  • Because of dense forests and restriction of approaching for fire fighters, forest fire is easy to be a larger fire in Korea. For this result, the air attack was about 90% of extinguishing, so the application of aircrafts, especially helicopters, will be increased gradually. In the all process of forest fire attack, the method of heli-scattering water was the chief element of success of efficient forest fire attack and safe flight. Therefore, a standardized method of heli-scattering water was required. However, as it was not already standardized, a efficiency and safety of fire fighting have been decreased. In this study, we suggest a 11 patterns of methods for scatterling water based on a actual experience of air attack.

  • At the stage of conceptual design of a helicopter, it is a general way using low fidelity analysis methods because of a large number of design calculations and trade-off studies. Determination of empirical parameters used in analysis codes for more practical design, depends on an user's design experiences, which effects on the accuracy and the fidelity of conceptual design results. Thus, more precise and logical method should be required to determine the empirical parameters used in the conceptual design of a helicopter. The present method is to be used not only in verifying the empirical parameters generated by design requirements, but also regenerate them if they contain any errors. Empirical parameters produced by present method were used to design a helicopter with a payload objective and performance constraints of an operating helicopter. As a result, weights and geometries of designed helicopter matched the target value within 5% significance level, proving that the suggested parameter generating method can be useful in the conceptual design of a helicopter.

  • This paper proposes a collision prevention system for an agricultural unmanned helicopter. The collision prevention system consists of an obstacle detection system, a mapping algorithm, and a collision avoidance algorithm. The obstacle detection system based on a LiDAR sensor is implemented in the unmanned helicopter and acquires distance information of obstacles in real-time. Then, an obstacle mapping is carried out by combining the distance to the obstacles with attitude/location data of the unmanned helicopter. In order to prevent a collision, alert is activated to an operator based on the map when the vehicle approaches to the obstacles. Moreover, the developed collision prevention system is verified through flight test simulating a flight pattern aerial spraying.

  • In this paper, a method to allocate a submarine search mission to an ASW(Anti-Submarine Warfare) helicopter is proposed. The aim of the proposed method is to increase the submarine detection capability. For this purpose, we modeled the behaviors that the ASW helicopter conduct during the search mission, and the relations between the behaviors are also modeled. To measure quantitatively the effectiveness of ASW search mission, the measure of effectiveness(MOP) is defined. Scenarios are designed to analyze the effectiveness utilizing the ASW mission model. We conducted simulations applying the designed scenarios and some parameters concerned with the friendly ship and the enemy submarine interacting each other in the ASW missions. We analyzed the result of simulation depending on the dipping interval and the pattern of dipping positions in the situation that the helicopter operates for a long time and should resupply several times on the friendly ship. From the analyzed data, we suggested the practical value of ratio between the detectable range of the sonar and the dipping interval to improve the effectiveness of ASW mission.

  • In this paper are This paper is about the efficient use operational management plan for the metropolitan public Jamsil heliport. First, understand the general operations and facilities to Jamsil heliport and raised the issue for them. And, in cases such as urban offshore heliport Jamsil heliport in New York and Texas (USA), for example, which was presented for comparative analysis and Jamsil heliport in London (UK). Operations, research is seen against a facility to install and manage a couple of airfield operations based on the subject by presenting the alternatives, thereby causing the principal operating facilities, infrastructure and security facilities even suggest ways to enhance the standards. Unlike other countries, Jamsil heliport location characteristics were excluded from the study on the safety aspects related to flight operations and for this I'm a military airport facilities coexist in the neighborhood.
