  • Multi-view 3D displays based on a limited number of pixels have the problem that the stereo-scopic image has a low resolution because of increasing view number. To solve the problem of low resolution, we propose an optical approaching method that focuses the width of a unit pixel by using a commercial spherical shape lenticular lens sheet and increases the effective resolution by increasing the number of sources of light in the multi-view 3D display system based on projection type. The method was performed in such an order that several main derivable parameters were defined, and, through the theoretical and experimental result, the value of the contractible unit pixel width and the scalable effective resolution was derived in a given system environment. As a result, for the case that the ray of light from the projector transmitted the 25 LPI lenticular lens sheet which has the pitch size 1.016 mm, the focused unit pixel width was 0.19 mm and the scalable effective resolution was, at most, 5 times wider than the original one. In addition, the range of depth of focus was 1.496 mm, which shows us the range of thickness tolerances of commercial spherical shape lenticular lens sheet and sufficient optical alignment tolerances.

  • Parcel boundary demarcation in agricultural area is commonly performed by terrestrial surveying methods, which have been pointed out as drawbacks to require consuming too much time and heavy expenditure. With the developments of high performance digital aerial cameras, however, studies on cadastral boundary demarcation with an aerial photogrammetric method attract a great attention in recent years. In this paper, an approach is presented to rapidly demarcate parcel boundaries coinciding with real ground ones in agricultural areas by extracting boundaries from the high resolution aerial orthoimages based on aerial targets. In order to investigate the feasibility of the proposed method, the accuracy of coordinates and area of parcel boundaries extracted from the aerial targets appeared in orthoimages compared with that of terrestrial boundary surveying results over the selected two test agricultural areas. Aerial image data were processed taken by a ADS80 digital camera with a GSD of 8cm in Changwon region, and by a DMCII camera with a GSD of 5cm in Suwon respectively. The result shows that the accuracy of parcel demarcation using aerial images is within the tolerance limits of coordinates and areas compared with that of terrestrial surveying. The proposed method using aerial target-based high resolution aerial images is therefore expected to be usefully applied in the agricultural parcel demarcation.

  • ISBP745 has new provisions about sea waybill, road, rail or inland waterway transport documents which ISBP681 did not have provisions about. The main revisions of ISBP745 which were not existent or different from ICC Opinion are as follows: First, where B/L is required when multimodal transport is used as a modes of transport, the revisions stipulates that it is subject to UCP600 article19. this differs from previous ICC Opinion. Second, when a credit requires a transport document to indicate the name, address and contact details of a delivery agent, for the place of final destination or port of discharge, the address need not be one that is located at the place of destination or port of discharge or within the same country as that of the place of destination or port of discharge. Third, in case there exist a number of shippers and a consignee, multiple transport documents are issued. This rule has a clear stipulation on this case. Transport industry regards the indication of "LCL/FCL" or "CFS/CY" common in this case as that requiring multiple transport documents. However, ISBP745 does not regard it the case as that requiring multiple transport documents. This may cause some confusion in examination of documents. Forth, when partial shipment is allowed, and more than one set of original transport documents are presented as part of a single presentation made under one covering schedule and incorporate different dates of shipment, the earliest of these dates is to be used of the calculation of an presentation period.

  • The high strength materials have been more widely used in reinforced concrete structures, specially, the reinforcing steel is permitted to used in RC structures up to yielding strength of 600 MPa. The strength of materials in RC beam section effects on the behavior and ductility of the RC members. In this study, the numerical analysis has been conducted to obtain the complete moment-curvature relation and the curvature ductility factor for the rectangular RC beams sections under the various reinforcement conditions and the effects of concrete strength, yield strength of reinforcement steel on the behavior and the curvature ductility factor of RC beam sections have been evaluated. The compressive strength of concrete and yield strength of steel have effected in various manner on the behavior and the curvature ductility factor of RC beam sections under reinforcement conditions. In the case of beam sections with equal resisting moment. the curvature ductility factor of RC beam section decreased with an increase in the yield strength of steel and increased with an increase in the concrete strength. When the yield strength of steel increased from 400 MPa to 600 MPa, the curvature ductility factor reduced about 30% and as the concrete strength increased from 30 MPa to 70 MPa, the curvature ductility factor of RC beam section increased about 3 times.

  • The present study was ,conducted to evaluate the effects of condensed phosphates on the refeezing damage of Alaska pollack muscle. The fillets were dipped in such solution as 5 and $10\%$ sodium polyphosphate, 1 and $5\%$ mixture of sodium polyphosphate and sodium pyrophosphate (1:1, w/w) for 1 and 5 minutes, respectively, before refreezing. And fillets were frozen at $27^{\circ}C\~28^{\circ}C$ and stored for 15 days at $-18^{\circ}\~-20^{\circ}$. The degree of denaturation was estimated by determining amounts of drip relased, content of total solids, nitrogen, and DNA in the drip an cooking-weight-loss. Phosphorus absorbed in the muscle was also determined. Phosphorus absorbed in the fillets treated with loft solution of sodium polyphosphate for 5 minutes amounted to 101 mg/100g muscle as $P_2O_5$. The absorption was dependent on tile concentration of treating solution rather than on the dipping time. The increase of phosphorus absorption seemed to affect to reduction of drip. Among the treating conditions, $10\%$, 5 minutes and $10\%$ 1 minute with sodium polyphosphate appeared most effective ones on drip reduction. The effect of $5\%$, minutes with the mixture of sodium polyphosphate and sodium pyrophosphate did not show so benefitable effect in refrozen fillets. As a tendency total solids, nitrogen, and DNA in tile drip varied proportionally to the amount of drip released. And the content of DNA was lower than the amount. Treatment, at higher the concentration and longer the dipping time, resulted in the lower cooking-weight-loss and the better quality on organoleptic test of thawed fillets.

  • Insects and their extract have been traditionally used as medicinal resources in Asia. Recently, Gryllus bimaculatus and the larva of Tenebrio molitor, Protaetia brevitarsis, and Allomyrina dichotoma were enlisted as general food ingredients by Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. As the interest in these insects is growing, the detailed investigation is needed for the standardization of suitable and safe rearing techniques. This survey was conducted via personal interviews about edible insect rearing farms in Korea. The basic feed is fermented oak sawdust for P. brevitarsis and A. dichotoma and wheat bran for T. molitor. The various feed additives are blended with each farm's own recipes. The overall growth condition, including sawdust fermentation method, feeding period, and rearing density, varies among the investigated farms. It seems that weight of last instar larva was correlated with the rearing density and duration of the larval period. The heavy metal contents were analyzed after 48 hour starvation and they were very small amount or not detected in investigated insects. We believe that the present data will contribute to develop and standardize the safe rearing techniques of edible insects in Korea.

  • This paper reports the results of an acceleration test to predict the contact-induced failure that could occur at the cylinder-to-hole joint for the fuel rod of a sodium-cooled fast reactor (SFR). To incorporate the fuel life of the SFR currently under development at KAERI (around 35,000 h), the acceleration test method of reliability engineering was adopted in this work. A finite element method was used to evaluate the flow-induced vibration frequency and amplitude for the test parameter values. Five specimens were tested. The failure criterion during the life of the SFR fuel was applied. The S-N curve of the HT-9, the material of concern, was used to obtain the acceleration factor. As a result, a test time of 16.5 h was obtained for each specimen. It was concluded that the $B_{0.004}$ life would be guaranteed for the SFR fuel rods with 99% confidence if no failure was observed at any of the contact surfaces of the five specimens.

  • The damage aspects of soybean by common cutworm, Spodoptera litura (Fabricius) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) at different larval density and different growth stage of soybean were studied in soybean field. The percent yield reduction(Y) of soybean infested by different densities of S. litura (X, no. of larvae/plant) under outdoor conditions for a three week period were estimated by the following equations: (1) Y = 1.655X - 6.025 ($R^{2}=0.952$) for the R1 (flowering stage); (2) Y = 0.725X - 0.475 ($R^{2}=0.986$) for the R3 (beginning pod stage); and (3) Y = 0.635X - 1.325 ($R^{2}=0.986$) for the R5 (beginning seed stage). Based on the relationships between the densities of S. litura larvae and the yield index of soybean, the number of larvae (2nd-3rd instar) which caused 5% loss of yield (Tolerable injury level) was estimated to as approximately 6.7 for the R1, 7.5 for the R5, and 10.0 per plant for the R5, respectively. Average soybean leaf areas consumed by 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th larvae of Spodoptera litura during 24 hr at $28^{\circ}C$ was 0.3, 0.7, 2.6, 4.0, 20.1, and $55.8\;cm^{2}$, respectively.

  • The ultimate research goal of the current study was a development of hydrolyzed whey protein powder (7%-GNANA) manufactured with normal content of sialic acid, a marker compound, that is naturally occurring at 7% concentration in GMP obtained from the milk protein. GMP is a safe food, used worldwide in infant and baby foods, etc. The test substance was prepared using (7% sialic acid containing) GMP as a raw material, and then using alcalase, an enzyme approved as a food additive, after separation of sialic acid with 100% efficiency and 7%-GNANA (containing 7% sialic acid and protein; product name: HELICOBACTROL-7) provided by MEDINUTROL Inc. (Korea). Bacterial reverse mutation (Ames) test was conducted in accordance with GLP Guideline using the test substance specified above. To identify its mutagenic potential against microorganisms, histidine auxotrophic strains of Salmonella Typhimurium, TA98, TA100, TA1535, and TA1537, and tryptophan auxotrophic strain of Escherichia coli, WP2uvrA, were used. The bacterial reverse mutation (Ames) test was performed by dividing the test substances into five different concentration groups (0, 61.7, 185, 556, 1,670, $5,000{\mu}g/plate$). Results of this experiment did not reveal repetitive increase of colony generating values or positive criteria for reverse mutagenicity for any concentration of test substances in any of the five strains, regardless of the presence of a metabolic activation system, and no dose-dependency was identified. In conclusion, the safety of 7%-GNANA test substance was verified by bacterial reverse mutation test conducted before registration of 7%-GNANA as a food additive.
