Identifying Bridging Nodes and Their Essentiality in the Protein-Protein Interaction Networks (단백질 상호작용 네트워크에서 연결노드 추출과 그 중요도 측정)

  • In this research, we found out that bridging nodes have great effect on the robustness of protein-protein interaction networks. Until now, many researchers have focused on node's degree as node's essentiality. Hub nodes in the scale-free network are very essential in the network robustness. Some researchers have tried to relate node's essentiality with node's betweenness centrality. These approaches with betweenness centrality are reasonable but there is a positive relation between node's degree and betweenness centrality value. So, there are no differences between two approaches. We first define a bridging node as the node with low connectivity and high betweenness value, we then verify that such a bridging node is a primary factor in the network robustness. For a biological network database from Internet, we demonstrate that the removal of bridging nodes defragment an entire network severally and the importance of the bridging nodes in the network robustness.

A Resource Scheduling Based on Iterative Sorting for Long-Distance Airborne Tactical Communication in Hub Network (허브 네트워크에서의 장거리 공중 전술 통신을 위한 반복 정렬 기반의 자원 스케줄링 기법)

  • In this paper, a novel resource scheduling, which is used for hub network based long distance airborne tactical communication, is proposed. Recently, some countries of the world has concentrated on developing data rate and networking performance of CDL, striving to keep pace with modern warfare, which is changed into NCW. And our government has also developed the next generation high capacity CDL. In hub network, a typical communication structure of CDL, hybrid FDMA/TDMA can be considered to exchange high rate data among multiple UAVs simultaneously, within limited bandwidth. However, due to different RTT and traffic size of UAV, idle time resource and unnecessary packet transmission delay can occur. And these losses can reduce entire efficiency of hub network in long distance communication. Therefore, in this paper, we propose RTT and data traffic size based UAV scheduling, which selects time/frequency resource of UAVs by using iterative sorting algorithm. The simulation results verified that the proposed scheme improves data rate and packet delay performance in low complexity.

  • Vehicular communication networking is one of the most important building blocks of Intelligent Transportation System(ITS). The vehicular communication network is a wireless communication system enabling vehicles to communicate with each other as well as with roadside base stations. Especially, Wi-Fi based vehicle-to-infrastructure(V2I) communication is an emerging solution to improve the safety, traffic efficiency, and comfort of passengers. In this paper, we proposed a new communication hub platform for vehicles, and explained vehicle communication technology in short. Through car simulation results, we show thar our proposed system reduces signaling interference.

  • LMDS(Local Multipoint Distribution Service) is a broadband wireless transmission system in millimeter wave frequency. LMDS system is consisted with relay system to connect between head-end and hub and distribution system to connect between hub and subscribers. In this study, we develop point-to-point relay system to use back-bone system n LMDS network. We develop STM-1 transceiver over 27GHz and analyze the system performance. We can get the similar measurement results comparing the theoretical results and then prove that this system can fit LMDS back-bone network requirement. This is the first system in Korea and we expect this system can apply the various network.

Characteristics of Interactions between Fan and Celebrities on Twitter (유명인과의 트위터 매개 상호작용 특성 탐색)

  • The present study explored types of Twitter-mediated communication and emotional responses of Twitter users toward celebrities. Three perspectives of para-social interactions, information hub, and fandom were proposed as communication types on Twitter. Celebrities were classified by entertainer, politician, specialist, and blogger. Communication patterns according to each category of celebrities were analyzed. The patterns of emotional responses, which represents the use of emoticons and emotional expressions were also analyzed. The results show that the type of para-social interactions was frequently accepted for the interactions with politicians and specialists, while fandom style was salient for the entertainers. For the power bloggers, the users tend to adopt the type of information hub interaction. The use of emotions and emotional expressions were most frequent in case of fandom style communication and the messages to the entertainers. Implications were further discussed.

  • Incheon International Airport(IIA) is planned to open in about two years. Korean government has an ambition to make IIA a major hub airport in Northeast Asia. The most essential and required condition for an airport to be a successful hub airport in a certain region is to have more efficient flight service network than the other airports in the same region. IIA should compete with Japanese airports to be a major hub in Northeast Asia because Japanese government also has a plan to expand greatly the airport capacity in Tokyo area and Kansai airport in Osaka. It is necessary for both IIA and Korean national air carriers to compose efficient flight service network considering hub competition with Japanese major airports. As the liberalization of international air transport industry would give more marketing freedom to airlines, they would plan the flight service network and flight schedule based on market analysis instead of governmental regulations. In the economically liberalized environment, it is very required to analyze air passengers' flight choice behaviour in order to induce other carriers and passengers through IIA's attractive flight service network. Disaggregate model is more appropriate than aggregate model to analyze consumers' behaviour. The information derived from disaggregate choice model of air passengers could be utilized in devising efficient flight network and schedule plan. Value of travel time or trade off ratio between flight frequency and travel time which could be estimated from discrete choice model could be utilized for scheduling an efficient flight plan for airlines and composing efficient flight service network for IIA.

  • Recently, enterprise systems require the necessity of integration for data sharing and cooperation. As a methodology for integration, Service-Oriented Architecture for service integration and Master Data for integration of data, which is used for service, were appeared. This paper suggests a method that operates BP(Business Process) efficiently. We make XMDR(eXtended Meta Data Registry) as knowledge-repository to support the BP and construct data hubs to operate it. XMDR manages MDM(Master Data Management) to integrate the data, resolves heterogeneity between the data and provides relationship to the business efficiently. This is composed of MDR(Meta Data Registry), ontology and BR(Business Relations). MDR describes relationship between meta data to solve structured heterogeneity. Ontology describes semantic heterogeneity and relationship between data. BR describes relationship between tasks. XMDR data hub supports the management of master data and interaction of different process effectively.

  • This case study explores the stock sale, the resulting governance structures, and the airport management and development in Beijing Capital International Airport and Shanghai International Airport at Pudong. It is imperative for Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC) to change the management paradigm to survive in the changing environment and to become hubs in the relevant regions. And IIAC needs to search for the new ownership and governance structure to cope with the internal and external demands for innovation. In this study, along with the recent trends of the global airport industry, we suggest the implications for the IIAC's major decisions, especially, for the stock sale, the resulting governance structure, and the airport development and management. It is suggested that Korean government retain the majority control in the process of privatization to keep IIAC as a government-owned enterprise to provide the public goods to the citizen. Furthermore, to maximize the value of stock sale, IIAC needs to decide strategically the time and speed in the hybrid form of stock selling using trade sale and IPOs.

  • 소형 풍력발전시스템(Small wind energy conversion systems)은 대형 풍력발전시스템과 더불어 급격한 성장세를 유지하고 있다. 풍력발전시스템은 다양한 기계적 하부시스템(로터, 허브 및 기어박스 등) 및 전기적 하부시스템(컨버터/인버터, 제어기 등)으로 구성되어 있다. 이와 같이 다양한 하부 시스템의 일부분이 파손될 경우, 이는 전체 시스템의 파손 또는 정지를 야기할 수 있고 막대한 경제적 손실을 발생시킬 수 있다. 이 글에서는 대형 풍력발전시스템과 더불어 급격한 성장세를 유지하고 있으며 인간의 생활 공간에 근접하게 설치되는 소형 풍력발전시스템의 기계적 신뢰성 평가 동향에 대하여 소개하고자 한다.

Cost-Effective Traffic Grooming in WDM Ring Networks : Uniform-Traffic Case (WDM 링 네트워크의 비용 절감을 위한 트래픽 통합 기법 : 유니폼 트래픽 경우)

  • To fully utilize the capabilities of a SONET/ADM network, traffic grooming is needed to multiplex a number of lower-rate traffic streams into a higher-rate stream, and vice versa. Although the capacity of a SONET ring network can be upgraded by operating it over multiple wavelengths, the corresponding network design may be costly if it employs a large number of ADMs. A cost-effective design attempts to minimize the total number of ADMs used in the network while carrying the offered traffic. We introduce and evaluate the performance characteristics of a new traffic-grooming approach for WDM ring networks, called multihop. The multihop implementation places an ADM at each node based on the requested traffic in the traffic-demand matrix then, it tries to groom the wavelengths which can be groomed. We select one of the nodes to be the "hub" node which has an ADM for each wavelength. The hub node, therefore, can "bridge" traffic between all of the wavelengths. The algorithm is specified and illustrated by a simple example. Our results demonstrate that it is beneficial to use a single-hop approach, but for a large grooming ratio and node number, we advocate the use of the multihop approach.e multihop approach.
