An Empirical Study on the Aesthetic Consciousness and the Aesthetic Enjoyment of Fashion as an Art (예술로서 패션의 미의식과 미적 향수에 대한 실증적 연구)

  • This study researches previous aesthetic categories and organizes new one which is applied to fashion design. With the frame of the new aesthetic category, a survey about aesthetic consciousness and aesthetic enjoyment are conducted. Also, this study discusses about the variety of the aesthetic consciousness and aesthetic enjoyment which are arisen from peculiarity of fashion and the necessity of the systemized criticizing theory. Through the survey of aesthetic consciousness about fashion designer's clothes, there are possibilities of varieties in visions and critics about fashion works. But it is necessary to read in right way about kunstwollen and symbolic meaning of designer. In order to read aesthetic consciousness inside of a fashion designer's works properly, the interpretation method which follows in systematized phases such as iconology and semiology is necessary. Contemplation for the 'clothes' which is a part of an art Is not just simply see the object and judge subjectively but examine the factors which have influenced to the formation, kunstwollen, and symbolic meaning. Also, the process and the attitude which enjoy the aesthetic value have to be analyzed and criticized which based on systemized interpretation frame. The 'Clothes' is one artistic object which expresses kunstwollen of fashion designer and he or she puts in a sentiment and an ideology into the clothes and which reflects the present society and effects to the descendant.

The Study of Body Characteristics and Fashion in Fragrance Advertising (향수 광고에서 보여지는 신체 이미지 및 패션 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate ideal body image and clothing style through the analysis of models portrayed in fragrance advertisement that is the representative goods showing the fashion brand image. For this study, 120 perfume advertisements appeared in GQ and Vogue magazines issued in 2002 were selected. The models' characteristics portrayed in advertisement are categorized with role relationship, race, body exposure and clothing styles. The results are as follows. 1. Fragrance advertisements most commonly depict a single model portraying narcissism, and later then most common are advertisements both male and female model in a sexual relationship. 2. The analysis of models' race shows racism toward Asian models and Afro- American models. White models are main characters in fragrance advertisements more often than other races, and in mixed-ethnic ads, whites typically outnumbered minorities. This shows currently aesthetic stereotypes, that is, white ideology still exists. 3. The results of models' body exposure are showing nudism with partially clad or nude. This shows the eroticism of male and female. 4. The highest portion of clothing style appeared in fragrance advertisement were casual wear for male model and dressy formal wear for female models, which respects current fashion trends.

A Study on the Perfume Purchasing and Using Behavior According to Men's Fashion Lifestyle (남성들의 패션 라이프스타일에 따른 향수 구매 및 사용행동)

  • The purposes of this study was to identify perfume purchasing and using behavior according to men's fashion lifestyle. Self-administered questionnaires were used for data collection. The subjects were 317 men aged 19-40. The results were as follows: First, over half of men had purchased at least one perfume during last year and the price was 30,000-60,000won. Men selected perfumes which harmonized with their image or purposes of using perfumes. Men selected a perfume as a present for their girl friends or wives to convey their concern or love. Most men purchased perfumes at department stores and selected after experiencing samples, and by affecting advertisements of newspapers or journals. Over 60% of men possessed at least one perfume and most of them were imported perfumes. Most men used perfume on a special day such as dates or job interviews, and they received perfume as a gift from their girl friends or wives. Most men used perfumes to enjoy fragrances by themselves and preferred sea fragrance most. Second, factors of men's fashion lifestyle were fashion information, individuality, conservativeness, ostentation, activity, and fashion style. Men were segmented into ostentatious consumption group, active group, fashion leader group, and fashion retard group. Third, fashion leader group purchased perfumes more than other groups and fashion retard group purchased the least.

Foreign Workers' Acculturative Stress in Korea Society (한국사회에서 이주노동자의 문화적응 스트레스)

  • This study was conducted to identify acculturative stress in foreign workers in Korea. The data of 123 subjects were collected from January to May, 2010, and analyzed using the SPSS WIN 18.0 program to compare demographic characteristics and acculturative stress. The results: The highest score among 7 subcategories of acculturative stress was homesickness, followed by discrimination. Subjects who had high school diploma were more likely to have acculturative stress than those who were middle school graduates or lower. Those who did not have the community with their homeland people experienced acculurative stress more than those who had. The 7 subcategories showed that those who had homesickness, the sense of being discriminated, culture shock, the homeland community, and the experience of unfair treatment in public had acculturative stress more than their counterparts. Those who did not live with their spouses had homesickness more than the counterpart. Male subjects, those with high school diploma, and those who did not live with their spouses appeared to have guilty feelings more often than their counterparts. The results of this study suggested further studies on foreign workers so that they could adjust themselves well to the Korean society.

A Study on Utility and Appreciation of the Plants in "Poetry of the South" - Focusing on Qu-Yuan's Poetry - (초사(楚辭)에 나타난 식물 소재의 활용 및 향유 방식 - 굴원(屈原)의 시문을 중심으로 -)

  • This study aims to sort out the plants in "Poetry of the South" what is in the written by Qu Yuan in the Kingdom of Chu and to analyze the utility and appreciation of plants. The conclusions are as follows. First, there were 80 plant names and 56 plant species were sorted out, and these results can confirm that the plants were existed in the 340-277 BC. Second, through analyzing the utility of the plants, herba lycopi, basil etc. as the garden plants; lotus, chrysanthemum etc. as the ornamental plants; galangal and cannabis sativa as the present; basil, musa basjoo, etc. as the sacrifice plants. Third, through analyzing the appreciation of the plants, golden birch, chrysanthemum etc. for gustatory appreciation; herba lycopi and pine tree etc. for tactile appreciation; bamboo for sensory appreciation. Forth, through analyzing the token of the plants, calamus and basil etc. are the symbol of personal character noble; wormwood and caltrop etc. are the symbol of villain. Based on the research of "Poetry of the South", it can help to understand the plants culture in 340-277 BC, and it will be a useful information for the plant design.

  • 최근 온라인 게임계는 복고열풍이 화두다. 지난 2000년 3D 온라인 게임이 처음 등장한 이후 온라인게임 시장의 주류가 3D 게임으 로 바뀌면서 2D 기반의 온라인게임들은 점차 그 자취를 감추기 시작했다. 그러나 지난 해 말부터 이런 변화에 역행하는 게임들이 하나 둘씩 등장하기 시작했다. 세련되고 실감나는 그래픽과 화려한 이펙트, 커다란 스케일 등을 포기하고 게임들이 다시 2D와 횡스크롤 진행 등과 같은 3D 게임 이전의 과거로 회귀하고 있는 것이다. 2D 게임의 향수와 예전 오락실에서 즐기던 추억을 동시에 갖추고 있는 것으로 평가받고 있는 던전앤파이터를 분석했다.

  • 대한건축사협회가 주최하는 제4회 서울국제건축영화제($4^{th}$ Seoul International Architecture Film Festival)는 건축과 영화의 만남을 통하여 국민들이 건축을 보다 친근히 느낄 수 있게 하고, 건축사의 역할, 건축의 가치에 대해 논할 수 있는 장을 마련한다. 11월 8일에 개막식이 열릴 예정이며, 김형수 서울국제건축영화제 집행위원장의 개막선언과 함께 막을 열 이번 영화제는 '도시'를 주제로 총 5개국 10편의 영화가 7일간 상영될 예정이다. 개막작은 에쿠메노폴리스로 이스탄불의 도시문제를 다루고 있으며, 상영작 중 '브라질'은 80년대 SF영화로 당시 향수를 불러일으키며 다양한 관객층을 불러 모을 예정이다.

  • 가을이면 막대사탕처럼 현재 40~50대 중.장년층의 어린 시절을 영상하게 하는 열매는 진분홍색으로 달콤한 맛과 함께 향수를 자극한다. 또한 6월에 십자 모양의 백색으로 피는 꽃은 예수님이 이 나무에서 운명하였다하여 성스러운 나무로 취급되어 기독교인들의 사랑을 받고 있는 나무이기도 하다. 또한 나무의 수관, 열매, 꽃 모든 것들이 아담하면서 화사하고, 청초하기 때문에 현대인들의 조경수, 정원수, 가로수로 매우 사랑받고 있는 나무이다. 늦가을 겨울을 재촉하는 바람 소리에 새벽잠을 설쳐도 우리의 마음을 한결 부드럽게 어루만져 주는 산딸나무는 화원의 대장 노릇을 하고도 남음이 있을 것 같다. 또한 각종 약용, 식용으로 사용되어 버릴 것 하나 없는 우리에게 즐거움만 주는 나무이다. 하지만 이러한 나무에 해충이 피해를 주니 이들의 종류 및 생태 그리고 방제에 대하여 소개하고자 한다.

  • 도서관은 전통적으로 지식과 정보자료를 수집하여 보존하는 기능을 담당해 왔다. 그러나 현대 후기산업사회에 적응하기 위해서는 이러한 전통적 기능 외에 과학기술정보의 신속한 공급은 물론, 개인의 지적 활동과 문화향수 및 여가선용의 극대화를 도모하고, 특히 지역사회 주민들의 문화복지를 증진시키기 위해 도서관 프로그램을 적극적으로 활용토록 자극하는 사회문화적 역할이 더욱 강조돼야 한다. 공공도서관 업무의 문화부이관을 골자로 하는 '도서진흥법'의 시행으로 이제까지와는 전혀 다른 질적 변화의 계기를 맞고 있는 우리 도서관은, 과연 이같은 역할과 과제의 수행을 위해 어떤 노력들을 기울여야 할 것인가. 지난 도서관주간에 열렸던 학술대회에서의 논의를 정리한다.

  • 평균수명이 연장되고, 사회변화에 따른 핵가족화가 가속화 됨에 따라, "노인문제"는 결코 간과할 수 없는 심각한 사회문제로 대두되고 있다. 이 노인문제는 과거 가족제도에 대한 향수 같은 것으로는 이제 해결될 수 없으며 사회적인 해결 방안이 모색되고 실현되어야 하는 것이 오늘의 현실이다. 그러나 이러한 심각성에도 불구하고 우리나라의 노인복지 현실은 전무한 상태라 해도 과언이 아니다. 이런 어려운 여건 속에서 작으나마 지역사회 노인들의 건강, 식사, 소일거리 등을 해결하기 위해 노력하는 곳이 있다. "사회복지법인 자선단 은천노인복지회 (회장 : 이벙만ㆍ동대문구 장안동)." 노인들의 어려운 일을 도와주고, 취업알선을 해주고 있는 이들의 활동을 소개한다.
