  • 물류산업은 세계의 모든 정부 및 국가기관에 의하여 최고로 인식되고 있는 전략적이고 경제적 이윤추구의 전 세계에 걸친 거대한 산업이다. 싱가포르는 물류산업이 가장 발달하고 최고로 바쁜 항만을 갖고 있는 국가 중의 하나이다. 싱가포르의 강점은 아시아에서 훌륭한 문화여건, 금융과 상업적인 클러스터, 통신 및 운송의 연결성을 가지고 있는 가장 세계화된 도시라는 점이다. 싱가포르는 우수한 물리적인 산업기반 시설의 장점에 의하여 자유경쟁의 이득을 향유하고 있다. 그렇지만 이러한 것들만으로는 싱가포르가 우리들의 경쟁자로서 앞서 있다고 확신하기에는 충분하질 않다. 싱가포르는 적은인구와 지지배후지의 부족 등으로 도전에 직면하고 있어서 배후지를 다른 국가로 이전하고 있다. 싱가포르는 세계 경제 속에서의 국제화 중심이 되거나, 남동아시아 성장에 참여하고 배후지의 결속을 증가시키는 선택을 해야 될 것이다. 따라서 이 논문에서는 싱가포르 물류산업의 전략적 발전을 분석하기 위하여 수리통계학적 방법을 적용하였다.

  • The purpose of this study was to measure the competitiveness of ship finance in Korea, Europe, China, and Japan and compare them with each other to derive implications for strengthening the competitiveness of Korea ship finance. in order to achieve this goal Moon Hui-chang (1998) double diamond model was utilized, and the business conditions, factor conditions, demand conditions, and related and supporting industry were defined and measured for ship finance. As a result, Korea is highly competitive in business and demands conditions due to the high competitiveness of the domestic shipbuilding industry, and Europe is superior to Korea in all aspects except for business conditions. Japan failed to innovate and weakened its competitiveness, while China showed high competitiveness in factors and related supporting industries conditions.

전파 표준시 방송을 위한 NDGPS 신호 활용 방안

  • 현대 생활에 있어서 정확한 시간은 마치 공기와 같이 필요성이 직접적으로 확연하게 나타나지는 않지만, 첨단 통신, 항법, 금융 등의 산업 발전 및 국민의 일상 생활을 차질 없이 영위하기 위해서 없어서는 안 될 중요한 요소 중 하나이다. 광범위한 시각동기 응용 분야 중에서 본 논문에서는 특히 국민의 일상 생활과 밀접한 관계가 있는 수 ms 정도의 정확도를 갖는 타이밍 신호를 전국에 제공하기 위한 방안에 대해서 기술한다. 이러한 타이밍 신호의 응용 분야로는 열차, 지하철, 버스시간과 같이 수 초 정도의 정확도가 요구되는 경우, 인터넷통신 및 금융 거래와 같이 1초 이하의 정확도를 요구하는 경우, 교통 신호등과 같은 수백 ms 이내의 정확도가 요구되는 경우 등을 들 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 전파시계, 교통신호제어기, 전자상거래 등에서 요구되는 기준 시각을 제공하기 위한 방안 중 하나로 현재 해양수산부에서 운영하고 있는 NDGPS 비콘신호를 활용하여 전국적인 표준시의 방송 방안에 대해서 기술한다. 이를 위해서 유선전화망을 이용하여 표준시를 전송하는 방안, 수신된 표준시를 이용하여 방송할 타임태그를 작성하는 방법에 대해서 기술하였다. 또한 원격지 클럭에 대한 동기 성능을 분석하는 방법 및 이에 대한 결과를 제시하였다.

A study on the information effect of property market (실물자산시장에서의 정보효과에 관한 연구)

  • This study examines the dynamic relations between housing price and trading volume in a set of apartment markets in Republic of Korea to explore the informational role of trading volume in predicting the price volatility. Using monthly index data, EGARCH model is utilized to test for volume effect. To estimate the EGARCH-based volatility, two different sets of region are applied for the monthly return. Strong evidence has been found towards housing turnover leading price volatility, this supports previous studies on financial sector(s). These findings also support that trading volume in the housing market contains information on investor sentiment which, in turn, has a valuation effect on the price.

A Study of the Use of Foreign Currency Derivatives in the Korean Shipbuilding Industry (한국 조선 산업의 외환 파생 상품 활용에 관한 연구)

  • The exchange rate volatility during the global financial crisis in 2007-2009 led Korean shipbuilding companies to face currency risk. The use of foreign currency derivatives to take a risk in financial exposure affects them significantly. This research analyzes how the use of foreign currency derivatives affects the Korean shipbuilding industry in relation to its foreign sales by company type and over time, especially before and after the crisis period. It is based on statistical data presented by KOSHIPA and KOSIC in 2001-2014. The results of the analysis show that there is a significant relationship between foreign currency derivatives and foreign currency exposure for all firm sizes and years, but no relationship between them overtime.

The Impact of Capital Structure for Ship Investments on Corporate Stability (선박투자자금의 조달구조가 기업의 안정성에 미치는 영향)

  • The capital structure of the shipping business, which is characterized by its capital intensity and extreme market volatility, is closely related to long-term stability. Research in this area has been conducted mostly in the form of deriving the determinants of capital structure from company-wise financial ratios. This research, on the other hand, has a different approach to the topic. It identifies the relationship between actual cash profit and loss and other variables - i.e. actual vessel prices, interest rates and leverage ratio - by employing historical simulation. The result demonstrates that the P anamax cash profit shows 0 (break-even point) when the debt weight reaches 64.38% (debt ratio 180.74%) and the Cape, 73.04% (debt ratio 270.92%). Additionally, the ships of different types show a divided pattern for the pre- and post-'Super Boom'. It indicates that the business area and the market cycle should be considered when a leverage strategy is established. This research benefits shipping companies set a rational leverage strategy as well as delivers a reasonable guideline to government authorities for the development of a sound policy on shipping finance.

  • 1973년 최초로 서비스를 시작한 GPS는 전 세계 60억명 이상이 사용 중이며 거의 모든 사업에 큰 영향을 미치고 있으며, 자동차, 농업, 해양, 일반 안전, 레저활동, 지형공간정보, 항공, 금융, 통신 등 산업 전반에 걸쳐 경제적 이익이 약 1조4천억 달러에 이르는 글로벌 시스템이라 할 수 있다. 최근에는 미국의 GPS 뿐만 아니라 유럽, 러시아, 중국 등 세계 주요국들은 자국의 독자 위성항법시스템을 구축하고 있으며, PNT 정밀성 향상을 위한 위성항법보강시스템의 개발 또한 주요국 중심으로 이루어지고 있다. 4차산업기술의 발달로 인해 다양한 산업의 상용화와 대중화에 따라 PNT 정보의 고정밀, 고신뢰에 대한 수요도 급증하고 있으며, 이에 대한 응용기술 분야에 대한 시장도 급속하게 성장하고 있다. 우리나라에서도 KASS와 같은 위성항법보강시스템 구축을 추진하고 있으며, 향후 독자 위성항법시스템인 KPS의 개발도 진행중에 있다. 그러나 고도 23,000km에서 송출하는 위성신호의 전파교란·기만에 대한 취약성과, 도심지와 같은 위성신호 수신이 열악한 환경에서는 고정밀·고신뢰 PNT 정보를 제공하기가 현실적으로 어려운 실정이다. 이러한 GPS의 취약성을 보완하기 위해 지상기반의 PNT 정보제공 시스템 구축의 필요성이 증대되고 있으며, 전세계적으로 상호보완적 PNT 시스템의 구축·기술개발에 대한 연구가 다양하게 이루어지고 있다.

A Study on the Legal Liabilities of Contractor as a Delay in the Product Delivery on the Offshore Plant Construction Contract (해양플랜트공사계약상 제조물인도지연에 따른 당사자의 법적 책임에 관한 고찰)

  • The impact of the global financial crisis, which began in the United States in 2007, had a major impact on the domestic shipping and shipbuilding industries. In this regard, the domestic shipyard has established an order-taking strategy in several ways as an alternative to lowering the amount of construction of commercial vessels due to deterioration of the shipping industry, and selected industrial sector was the offshore plant sector. However, the domestic shipyard has under performed the offshore plant in order to just increase sales and secure work without any risk analysis for EPC contracts. As a result, the shipyard has been charged more than the initial contract price with the offshore plant contractor, or the shipyard has become a legal issue requiring payment of liquidated damages due to delays in delivery of the product. The main legal disputes are caused by the thorough risk analysis and the inexperience of process control that can occur during offshore plant construction. and In particular, there is no sufficient review of the unequivocal provisions in the contract as an element of risk management. There is no human resource to review these contractual clauses. Therefore, this study identifies the existence of specific risks that could lead to delays in offshore plant construction, and examined the existence of any unequivocal clauses in contracts for offshore plant construction. and also discussed how the toxic clause applies to the actual parties and how the concrete risk factors in the construction contracts are transferred and expressed by referring to the interviews with the project manager of the domestic shipyard and the previous research. As a result, This paper examined the legal liability of the contracting parties regarding delayed delivery of the products due to the offshore plant construction contract. And to improve the domestic shipbuilding industry.

Classification Society Selection Factors for Shipping Companies (해운기업의 선급 결정 요인에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to establish shipping companies' selection factors related to a classification society and to explore the relative importance of each factor using the analytical hierarchy process(AHP) technique. Insufficient research exists on the hierarchial structure of shipping companies' factors of selecting a classification society. The factors are identified and classified into two tiers of major and detailed factors, by referring to the related industrial linkages, prior research related to the determinants, and the process and service delivery of the classification society's activities. The empirical analysis of this study is based on the relative importance of determinants when selecting a classification society, and experts engaged with shipping companies were surveyed using questionnaires. The results of the AHP methodology on the main factors of shipping companies in selecting a classification society are as follows. The relative importance of the main factors was 0.373 for technical and survey services, 0.284 for recognized organizations(RO) functions, 0.177 for cost and 0.167 for market(related industry) expectations. The relative importance of the detailed factors is 0.144 for the ability to respond to a port state control(PSC) inspection, 0.143 for technical services, 0.090 for the requirements of financial institutions/ shippers/shipyards, 0.087 for class maintenance costs, 0.086 for the survey network, 0.085 for surveyor competency, 0.072 for cooperation with IMO and government authorities, 0.067 for recognition for RO, 0.058 for the business power of the classification society, 0.052 for the initial inspection costs, 0.040 for reputation and trustworthiness, 0.038 for the costs related to the class, and 0.037 for connections to related industries.

  • As an exploratory research to understand the nature of relationships between harbors and their neighboring communities, this study analyzes how harbors influence their residents' quality of life(QOL). The QOL was measured by 18 indicators reconstructed by reviewing relevant literatures. As a result, both Busan and Incheon were found to have statistically significant influence on many of QOL indicators including general expenditure per capita, number of manufacturing factories per capita, rate of housing supply, number of financial agencies per capita, number of cultural assets per capita, number of schools per capita, number of sick-beds per capita, and the size of welfare expenditure per capita.
