하구둑 준공으로 인한 조간대 하천하구 물리화학적 변화탐지 LandsatTM 기반 원격탐사 모니터링

  • 환경오염과 자연재해의 증가추세에 대비한 하천과 해양 수자원의 통합관리시스템에 대한 요구가 증가하고 있으나 기존의 하천수자원관리시스템만으로는 이러한 요구에 부응하지 못하는 실정이다. 위성영상은 관심지역에 대한 광역적 조사와 시계열적 관찰에 효율적인 수단을 제공하므로 하천과 해양수자원의 동시병행 관찰에 유리하다. 본 연구는 위성영상을 이용한 하천 하구변화탐지 모니터링 원격탐사 시스템 구축을 위한 효과적인 영상획득과 영상보간법을 활용할 시스템 모델을 설계하고 구현한다. 이 위성영상을 이용한 하천 하구 변화탐지 모니터링 시스템을 위한 효과적인 영상획득과 영상보간법의 활용 시스템 모델을 전북과 충남 금강하구에서의 해수, 담수 혼합수역의 변화와 이동, 그리고 바다면적과 육지면적의 변화와 이동의 관찰에 적용하고 검증한 결과 제안한 하천 하구 변화탐지 모니터링 시스템을 위한 위성영상기반 모델이 기존 그리드정점관측방법에 비해 효과적이라는 결과를 얻었다.

  • As a propellant of a high speed underwater vehicle, the hydro-reactive solid metal particles using seawater as a oxidizer maximizes its specific impulse when the solid metal particles and the seawater are uniformly mixed in the combustion chamber. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of injector geometry on the particle distribution of similarity point of view. For the purpose of this similarity of the mean velocity and particle number density along the radial direction was measured by Particle Image Velocimetry(PIV).

  • 동굴내부의 지형변형은 동굴내의 외인적인 요인과 내인적인 요인에 의하여 발달된다. 외인적인 요인으로서 기후변동에 의한 기온의 변화와 침출수의 증감 및 외부 이입물질 등을 들 수 있으며, 내인적인 요인으로서는 암석의 공극율, 지질환경, 단층 및 습곡면의 형상, 절리 및 균열면의 유무, 동굴지천의 구배 및 유속, 층리간의 이종의 암석게재 여부 등을 들 수 있다. 동굴 시스템은 수문 물리화학적 요소에 의해 형성되며 외부 기준면 통제에 의해서 암석학, 구조학, 기후학, 생물학, 토양학 등과 밀접한 상태에서 의존적인 발달 과정을 가진다. 동혈 내부의 침식은 유수의 입력 경우 유출과정에서 형성되며, 또한 유수의 비 입력 경우유출 및 액체용액의 분출에 의해서 형성된다. 다수의 동굴학자들은 동굴은 계절마다 침수되거나 빨리 흐르는 홍수에 의한 폭우에 의해 epiphreatic 상태에서 간헐적으로 포화되는 과정을 거치며 선택적으로 발달한다고 주장하고 있다. 혼합지대 동굴의 가장 좋은 예는 현재의 카르스트 지역에서 나타나는 것이 아니라 과거 제4기의 200만년전 동안보다 해수면이 더 안정적이었던 때에 이루어진 고 카르스트(Paleo Karst)에서 발견되고 있다.

Influence of Repeated Application of Chlorotharonil and Cellulose on the Bacterial Population in Soil Suspension Culture (토양현탁액중(土壤懸濁液中)에서 Cellulose와 살균제(殺菌濟) Chlorotharonil연용(連用)이 세균(細菌)의 밀도변화(密度變化)에 미치는 영향(影響))

  • This study was conducted to find out the influence of single and/or repeatedly combined application of cellulose and chlorotharonil(TPN) on bacterial population and dissipation of these chemicals by microorganism in the soil suspension culture. 1. The number of total bacteria and Gram-negative bacteria were rapidly increased for 1st week, after the time, decreased in the single application but maintained in repeatedly combined application for 5th week and that were higher at combined application of TPN and cellulose than at single application of these. 2. TPN-degrading bacteria were gradually increased by the repeated application of TPN, and elevated the increasing extents of those with the repeatedly combined application of cellulose with TPN. 3. Cellulose-degrading bacteria showed the peak at 1st week, and was increased in the repeated application of cellulose, but the bacteria was decreased in the repeatedly application of TPN with cellulose. 4. The dissipation of TPN were faster at the combined application of both than at the single application of TPN, wheras that was delayed by the repeatedly combined application. 5. The content of reducing sugar was rapidly increased at 1st week and after 4th week except for the TPN single application, that was higher in the combind application than the cellulose single, but there was no difference between them.

Estimates of Flushing Time in a Bay using the SCS Curve Number Method (SCS 유출곡선지수법(流出曲線指數法)을 이용한 만내(灣內) 담수(淡水) 교체시간(交替時間)의 추정(推定))

  • The SCS Curve Number(CN) method has become widely accepted as a procedure of estimating stormflow volumes for design and natural events in small watersheds. The applicability of this method for calculating the flushing time was evaluated as compared with the net volume transport(NVT) method in Masan Bay, Korea. It is shown that the flushing time using the CN method ranged from 10.9 to 15.3 days under the well mixed condition, that the time using the NVT method was 13.9 days averaged over 6 days of field data. These results were revealed that two methods calculated the approximate times as shown above. The relationships between the run-off, Qr, and the flushing time, t, are expressed as the following forms. $t_1=228.79Q_r^{-0.9996}$ in case of well mixed condition, (1) $t_2=131.06Q_r^{-1.0}$ in case of two layered model. (2) Those empirical expressions are represented that the relationships between Q and t are nonlinear as those as Bumpus obtained in Boston Inner Harbour. Therefore, the CN method will permit calculation of the flushing time for any given bay to be unexpected as water balance under the condition of short-time (0.5 day) data, instead of NVT method based on the long-time (at least 3 days over) data.

A Proposal of Flow Limit for Soils at Zero Undrained Shear Strength (흙의 비배수전단강도가 0이 되는 함수비인 흐름한계의 제안)

  • When a slope failure or a debris flow occurs, a shear strength on failure plane becomes nearly zero and soil begins to flow like a non-cohesive liquid. A consistency of cohesive soils changes as a water content increases. Even a cohesive soil existing at liquid limit state has a small amount of shear strength. In this study, a water content, at which a shear strength of cohesive soils is zero and then cohesive soils will start to flow, was proposed. Three types of clays (kaolinite, bentonite and kaolinite (50%)+bentonite (50%)) were mixed with three different solutions (distilled water, sea water and microbial solution) at liquid limit state and then their water contents were increased step by step. Then, their undrained shear strength was measured using a portable vane shear device called Torvane. The ranges of undrained shear strength at liquid and plastic limits are 3.6-9.2 kPa and 24-45 kPa, respectively. On the other hand, the water content that corresponds to the value of the undrained shear strength changing most rapidly is called flow water content. The flow limit refers to the water content when undrained shear strength of cohesive soils is zero. In order to investigate the relationship between liquid limit and flow limit, the cohesive index was defined as a value of the difference between flow limit and liquid limit. The new plasticity index was defined as the value of difference between flow limit and plastic limit. The new liquidity index was also defined using flow limit. The values of flow limit are 1.5-2 times higher than those of liquid limit. At the same time, the values of new plasticity index are 2-5.5 times higher than those of original plasticity index.

Evaluation to Purification Capacity of Pollutants by Column Test with the tidal flat sediment (통수실험에 의한 갯벌의 오염물질 정화능력 평가)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the purification capacity of pollutants by column test with the tidal flat sediment. Sediment materials were taken from Chunjangdae tidal flat which located in Chungnam Seochungun. The column tests were conducted on four conditions(R1 : raw sewage filtered by G2 filter, R2 : sterilized sewage after filtered by GF/C filter, R3 : R2 /filtered(membrane) seawater (1:1), R4 : R2 /filtered(membrane) seawater(1:2)). The results of this study may be summarized as followed ; The removed COD by column tests were increased according to increasing the quantity of sewage. During the column tests of 580min, the total removed ammonia nitrogen were 90.1mg for R1, 81.0mg for R2, 27.6mg for R3 and 4.1mg for R4. The result was similar to COD experiment. During the 580min, the total removed total-phosphates were 3.4mg for R1, 4.2mg for R2, 5.6mg for R3 and 2.0mg for R4. The removal efficiency of Pb and Cd for R3 and R4 reactor were higher than R1 and R2 reactor. The remove of heavy metal by the column test was high in sample with seawater. But in the initial 20min, the adsorbed Pb and Cd showed about 3% of the total adsorbed Pb and Cd during 580min.

Assessment of Hydraulic Conductivity of Modified Bentonite and Local Soil Mixture under Salt Water Condition (개량 벤토나이트와 현장토 혼합 차수층의 염수조건하에서의 투수성 평가)

  • A bentonite mixing with local soil widely used as liner layer for landfill should have low permeability less than $1{\times}10^{-7}cm/s$. But there are several limitations of bentonite used as liner layer, such as drying shrinkage cracking, ineffective waterproof ability under salt water condition like flocculation under sea water. The purpose of this research is the development of a salt resistance bentonite by mixing sepiolite and guar gum to overcome the weak points of bentonite to get high water resistance capacity and permeability coefficient below $1{\times}10^{-7}cm/s$ under salt water condition. After having performed drying shrinkage cracking test, swelling index test, compaction test, and hydraulic conductivity test we confirmed the optimal mixing ratio of materials and evaluated the performance of materials.

Oceanographic Condition of the Coastal Area between Narodo Is. and Solido Is. in the Southern Sea of Korea and Its Relation to the Disappearance of Red-Tide Observed in Summer 1998 (한국 남해 나로도와 소리도 사이 해역의 1998년 하계 해황 및 적조소멸과의 관계)

  • Hydrographic surveys were carried out seven times during May 31, 1998 and September 24, 1998 in order to study the physical environments of the coastal area between Narodo Is. and Sorido Is. in the southern sea of Korea (the South Sea) where the occurrence of Cochlodinium polykrikoides red tide is frequently observed in summer. Temperature and salinity of the water column from the surface to the depth of 30 m exhibit large seasonal variations. Mean temperature of the water column increased by 6 and mean salinity of the water column decreased by 2.71 psu during the observation period. Both the freshwater supplied from the adjacent land and the precipitation over the study area cannot account for the observed salinity variations. The influx of the low salinity water from the offshore area is considered to be the main cause for the observed salinity changes. Surface salinity in the study area shows different spatial distribution in the period of outbreaking, mid-stage and disappearance of the red tide. Especially, salinity was abruptly lowered at the stage of disappearance of red tide as compared to salinity of the previous observation period. Vertical structure of water properties also became vertically homogeneous at the disappearance stage, while it was highly stratified in the previous observation. Such changes can only be explained by the inflow of low salinity water from the offshore, which is considered as the most possible cause for the disappearance of the red tide in the study area. This study suggests that exchanges of water, and chemical and biological factors between coastal areas and of shore area in the South Sea need to be studied in association with the general circulation of the South Sea in order for the better understanding of the occurrence and disappearance of the red tide in the coastal area of the South Sea.

Spawning and Larval Development of the Jicon Scallop, Chlamys farreri (비단가리비, Chlamys farreri의 산란과 유생사육)

  • This study focused on spawning season, induce spawning, spawning and larval development of the Jicon scallop in Daehuksan Island of southwestern waters in Korea. The condition index and gonadosomatic index were used to investigate the reproductive pattern of the Jicon scallop. The major spawning season was from July to August, showing an unimodal gametogenic cycle per year. Several different tests were carried out to induce spawning of the mature male and female C. farreri. For females, the injection of serotonin, temperature induction technique and the combination of the both treatments produced significantly faster gamete release. Unlike females, males spawned only in response to the UV rays irradiation stimulation. Mean size of fertilized eggs was 69.5 $\mu$m in diameter. After fertilization, the zygote could be divided into 2 cells as early as 2 hours. It took about 8 hours to develop the 8-cell stage, about 20 hours to hatch trochophore larvae, and about 40 hours to be D-shaped larvae.
