The commerce and industry of Busan was developed because of good geographical conditions with harbor. After passing its settling-down and diffusing time, Busan has grown in the trade city. Busan has lost the competitive power of the port city since 2000, because of the weakness of its economic power which is caused by the secession of manufacturing industry and the decrease of resident population and foreign tourist. In order to overcome these weaknesses, it is necessary for Busan to take the innovative strategy for the activation of marine tourism. This goal can be achieved by the strong quality of the port city, the coastal terrain, the traditional industry and the international traffic. The aim of this paper is to explore the Innovative Strategy for the activation of marine tourism in Busan and to suggest the following proposal. First, the government must decide the base of marine tourism under the geography viewpoint of the coast and sea, and develope tourism resources after analyzing the identity of marine tourism base. Second, the core part along the selected bases of marine tourism must be constructed the tourism terminal as the landmark of Busan in order to concentrate foreign tourist. Third, after each base of marine tourism must become the resort for tourists, they are able to experience the activity of marine tourism in this resort. Therefore, each base must be specialized. Fourth, each base must be connected with the route of marine tourism Fifth, in order to overcome the off-season of marine tourism, winter tourism goods such as skates, skis, artificial sea-bathing pool, artificial swimming beach, artificial sled, artificial rock wall of coast, hot spring resort of salt water are required to be developed in the center of marine tourism base.

The southern coastal area of Korean peninsula maintains unique natural views, social environment and tourism infrastructure. Even though the coastal area has world-class tourism resources and a great potential for development, it was an outsider from the tourism development in Korea. The coast development has recently reemerged because of increased tourism demand in the Northeast Asia, however, increased interest for the outstanding marine tourism resources and the marine culture, improvement of accessibility to the coast Considering these characteristics, the southern coastal area will be grown to a marine resort-belt, which will serve as a marine tourism hub in the Northeast. In the long run, it can be developed for leisure residential space with environment-friendly well-being fashion, new growing area that continuously drives the local development and area for a mutual development between Yeongnam and Honam Region. To accomplish this vision, several strategic matters should be resolved. Mall strategic issues are as follows: the loosening related rules and regulations that limit the development, legislation of a special law for tourism promotion, supporting for investment in public service and strategic investment, establishment of a marine tourism route connecting China-Korea-Japan, formulating new planning for Hallyo-Haesang Marine Park, designation of special marine tourism development zone, and invitation of the World Expo 2012.

화물량이나 해상관광객 유입 확대 등 항만수요의 증가에 따른 대응으로 항만을 확장하거나 신규항만을 계획하게 된다. 우리나라 어항의 경우 경관이 수려하고 청정지역으로 분류되어 개발여지가 크다. 이중 감포항의 경우도 해상을 통한 연안 화물의 운송확장과 어항의 기능에서 연안항의 여건을 갖추고 경주와 연계한 해양 관광벨트를 구성하여 친수공간 조성, 송대말 등대 컨텐츠 사업 등 해양관광의 거점으로 도약하기 위한 집중개발을 추진 중에 있어서 종합적인 관점에서 항만확장을 검토할 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 추진 중인 항만확장과 관련하여 남측 및 동측의 항만확장안에 대해 선박의 통항안전 및 계류한계파고에 대한 항만 정온도 여부를 제 3세대 수치파랑 모형인 SWAN모형과 강비선형 Boussinesq 방정식을 적용한 불규칙파 Bouss-2D 모형을 적용하여 모형간 특성을 도출한 후 현재안과 각 대안별로 파랑반응특성을 비교분석하였다. 이에 대한 결과는 각 대안별로 장래 항만확장에 대한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

Recently, international convention competition has greatly expanded with the globalization and expand of world economy. As the conventions market has grown, so have the number of places and facilities of convention competing for business, and numerous trade show and the related meetings held the several cities toward world city such as the United States, Europeans Countries, Japan, and Singapore. Convention, in general, are defined as an assembly, often periodical, of members or delegates, as a political, social, professional or religious group. Convention center means the place that hold several social, political, economic conferences and meetings, trade show, exhibitions, and events. Convention center are consisted the several facilities such as meeting room, exhibition hall, event hall. Historically, meetings, conventions, and trade show have been serviced primarily by hotel and convention centers. With the expand of world trade and flow in recent, the conventions, expositions, and meetings industry (CEMI), however, is one of the most rapidly growing industries in hospitality and tourism, and CEMI provides import effect on regional economy and regional development including regional tourism industry. This study focuses on the establishment strategies and location analysis of convention center as a agent for regional development in a case of Yosu Peninsular Area (YPA). YPA is one of the major industrial area of our country, and displays the rapid regional urbanization and social change with the construction such as Kwangyang container port facilities, Yulchon industrial complex, and the extension planning of industrial estate related to Kwangyang Iron and Steel Company, and population size of this area will be reached about two million peoples in 2011. This area, particularly, will be functioned as a major container & export port of our country after the completion of Kwangyang container port facilities in 1988. If the planned industrial estate is constructed, the convention center for conference exhibition, information exchange, and resort facilities for exhibition, international communication will be needed. In addition, resort and leisure facilities for conventions' participants need. This area, therefore, has to make the establishment of convention center for regional development in future. Thus, the major strategies and idea for establishment of convention center as follows: first, this area has requirements for resort convention center, because this area will be functioned as a major export port and industrial district in 21 century; second, in the location analysis of convention center site, Sinwol & Woongchon district, Soho district, and Yongju & Hodu district are selected as developing possible sites; third, the convention center of this area has to consist of two functions such as convention facilities and marine resort facilities; fourth, in order to establish convention center, the selection of main group, financial raising strategies, and the organization of propulsion committee for establishment of convention center are required.
