Traffic Collision Detection at Intersections based on Motion Vector and Staying Period of Vehicles (차량의 움직임 벡터와 체류시간 기반의 교차로 추돌 검출)

  • Recently, intelligent transportation system based on image processing has been developed. In this paper, we propose a collision detection algorithm based on the analysis of motion vectors and the staying periods of vehicles in intersections. Objects in the region of interest are extracted from the subtraction image between background images based on Gaussian mixture model and input images. Collisions and traffic jams are detected by analysing measured motion vectors of vehicles and their staying periods in intersections. Experiments are performed on video sequences actually recoded at intersections. Correct detection rate and false alarm rate are 85.7% and 7.7%, respectively.

  • Mother ship must be able to know accident occurrence information rapidly to rescue crew who fall in sea. In this paper, designed and manufactured transceiver of prescribed 447 MHz is operating as low power radio station specified in Radio Regulation. So, it is available without special permission proceedings getting form probation so that the use of this system may be easy. the system has been started for operation when the sensor get in touch with water. The system transmits with modulation by 500Hz square wave, and the receiver alarms when the transmitted signal is received. Therefore, the system can be used for not only saving a life, but also for low speed of data transmission below 2,400 bps, and other purposes.

  • In this paper, short range IVC(Inter-Vehicle Communication) channel is modeled in three kinds considering rain attenuation and oxygen absorption. And the performance of DS/CDMA communication system in one path Rician model suitable for platton driving which is the final goal of AVHS(Advanced Vehicle & Highway System) is analyzed. Also, the reflection coefficients in 60 GHz is calculated. For the performance improvement both BCH channel coding and MRC diversity reception technique are adopted. The BER performance is evaluated as a function of packet length, Rician depth and the distance between vehicles.

  • This paper presents a new search strategy based on models of evolution in order to solve the problem of collision-free robotic path planning. We designed the robot path planning method with genetic algorithm which has become a well-known technique for optimization, intelligent search. Considering the path points as genes in a chromosome will provide a number of possible solutions on a given map. In this case, path distances that each chromosome creates can be regarded as a fitness measure for the corresponding chromosome. The effectiveness of the proposed genetic algorithm in the path planning was demonstrated by simulation. The proposed search strategy is able to use multiple and static obstacles.

  • Ultra Wideband(UWB) system uses wide band signal, which power spectral density likes as a noise floor, so UWB system can be used high speed communication without interfering with other communication system. As this system doesn't use carrier, its structure would be very simple and consume very low power. But conventional UWB system uses Pulse Positioning Modulation(PPM) Method. Therefore it could be to produce discrete power spectrum which decreases system efficiency unintentionally. For eliminating discrete power spectrum and further Euclidean distance, we propose UWB system using Antipodal signal. And we design and simulate antipodal tranceiver using Advanced Design System(ADS).

  • A flight simulator is composed of engine, navigation systems and instrument modules. However, two problems exist here. First, the coordinate of each independent module is not same. To solve this problem, we design a method that mutual coordinates are capable of transformation each other. Second, the distance and bearing between two points on the earth are computed in a sphere shape using the spherical trigonometry. However, the computing time is very severe. In this paper, we project the sphere into the planar to reduce the computing time. An experimental result shows that the performance of the proposed method is excellent to both distance and bearing calculations in close region. Also, the computing time is reduced from $4.95{\times}10^{-4}$ seconds to $1.648{\times}10^{-4}$ seconds.

  • In this paper, we propose a robust moving object tracking(MOT) method based on motion energy and prediction. MOT consists of two steps: moving object extraction step(MOES) and moving object tracking step(MOTS). For MOES, we use improved motion energy method. For MOTS, we predict the next location of moving object based on distance and direction information among previous instances, so that we can reduce the search space for correspondence. We apply the method to both synthetic and real world sequences and find that the method works well even in the presence of occlusion and disocclusion.

  • In P2P distribution mobile networks, QoS of streaming media services are under heavy influence from overheads such as congestion, latency, and interference. The problem is further complicated by the fact that the popularity of media objects changes over time. This paper proposes a new FSMS+ (Fuzzy Similarity-based Multi-level Streaming Scheme) which minimizes performance degradation of streaming services due to overhead. We then utilize fuzzy similarity-based relevance that can dynamically stream the streaming media object with minimum overhead. The simulation result showed that the proposed scheme has better performance in retransmission rate, congestion control rate and latency rate than the other existing methods of distance method, DC (disk caching) method, and prefix method.

  • In this paper, we propose a dynamic tree formation protocol for multiple UAV which is gathering data or accomplishing a mission such as disaster monitoring, environment monitoring, and disaster relief. Especilly, we designed Hop-LQI Weight algorithm to form optimal tree in wireless dynamic environment applying situation of radio signal attenuation over distance and implemented our algorithm in MSP 430 K-mote sensor platform using TinyOS codes. We verified performance of our algorithm by comparing average link setup time by the number of nodes with minimum LQI, link cost calculation method in wireless communication.

  • Many methods have been proposed to detect faults of carrier phase measurements, but there are no distinguished methods for land transportation systems. in this paper, the baseline constraints are used to detect faults in GPS carrier phase measurements with vehicle dynamic information. The faults include the multipath on GPS carrier measurements. Multiple antenna groups are used for this research. In the measurement domain the fault detection has been accomplished so that the implementation is easier than other methods.
