Development of AI-based Mooring Lines Recognition to Check Mooring Time (선박 접/이안 상황 계선줄 인식을 위한 인공지능 모델 개발)

  • In this paper, in order to improve port work preparation and berth scheduling efficiency in an artificial intelligence-based berthing monitoring system that can monitor the ship's berthing process, we develop a mooring line recognition model to check an exact berthing time. By improving the pre-designed AI model, it is possible to segment the mooring line from the input image, and to recognize when the mooring line arrives or falls on the berth, thereby providing the correct ship's berthing time. The proposed AI model confirmed by the results that mooring line recognition is possible with evaluation data about the actual berthing situation.

컨테이너 터미널의 내륙운송 효율화를 위한 플랫폼 개발 모델 구축

  • 4차 산업혁명의 가속화에 따라 해운 항만 산업 분야 또한 정보적 측면에서 빅 데이터에 대한 업종별 통합과 공유를 통해 연계 산업 간 산업활동 효율화를 위한 노력이 요구된다. 현재 물류 분야에 다양한 플랫폼들이 도입되고 있지만 대부분 화물운송업 또는 창고 중개업 분야에 편중되어 있다. 항만산업의 경우 코로나 펜데믹 이후 발생한 컨테이너 반입 제한 및 장치율 증가 등에 따라 운송사와 컨테이너터미널 간 갈등이 지속적으로 유발되는 상황이 발생되었다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 플랫폼을 활용한 컨테이너터미널과 운송사 간 플랫폼 개발의 필요성을 인지하고 상호 기업 간 연계 효율성을 높일 수 있는 방안을 모색하였으며 산업 관계자인 컨테이너터미널 운영사, 운송사, 포워더 업종 종사자들을 대상으로 설문지 기반 실증 분석을 수행하였다. 결과적으로 EFA를 통해 추출된 14가지 요인으로 IPA 분석을 수행한 결과 1사분면(사용 용이성, 보안성, 정보 정확성, 정보 적시성, 차량 반출/반입정보, 공컨테이너 반입/반출 정보, 풀컨테이너 반입/반출정보)으로 품질에 대한 지속적인 개선이 수행되어야 하며 2사분면(APP 시스템 품질)에 대한 고려가 종합적으로 수행되어야 함이 도출되었다. 또한, 플랫폼 개발의 주체와 이용자의 참여 유도가 필요하며 상호 이해관계자 간 효율적인 연계와 효율화를 위한 인식 구조 개선이 필요하다고 나타났다. 연구결과는 향후 컨테이너터미널과 내륙운송의 효율적인 연계를 위한 플랫폼 구축에 중대한 시사점을 제공한다.

  • 자율운항선박, 스마트 해상물류 등 미래 해상환경의 패러다임 변화에 대응하여 항로표지 현장시설을 고도화하고 신해상교통인프라 지능화 및 정보서비스 개발을 위해 스마트 항로표지 및 연계기술 개발 사업을 수행하고 있다. 본 사업의 1단계 연구 성과로 스마트 항로표지 통합플랫폼과 항로표지 서비스 성능시험환경이 구축되는데, 본 연구에서는 스마트 항로표지 통합 플랫폼에 설치된 각종 센서에서 수집된 정보를 육상의 성능시험환경으로 연동 시험에 관한 시나리오를 설계하였다. 스마트 항로표지 통합 플랫폼 및 장착되는 센서에 사전에 설계된 해양자원명을 부여하고 항로표지 정보관리시스템의 등록하는 절차를 제시하였고, 실시간으로 수집되는 항로표지 정보를 연동하여 빅데이터 분석 플랫폼으로 저장하고, 저장한 정보를 항로표지 서비스로의 적용과 활용에 관한 시나리오 설계 결과를 검토하였다.

금속 표면파 기반 비 전파 무선통신을 이용한 선내 무선통신 신뢰성 확보 방안

  • 자율운항 선박, 무인선 개발과 동 분야 디지털트윈 구현을 위해서는 선박 내부 데이터의 수집을 담당할 고신뢰성 선내 통신망 확보가 필수적이다. WiFi와 같은 전파 기반의 무선통신 시스템은 금속 구조물로 구성되는 선박 내 환경 자체가 원활한 통신의 장애 요소이다. 이러한 극한 환경 극복을 위해 자기장을 금속 표면에 유기하여 비 전파 기반으로 무선통신을 가능하게 하는 표면파 통신이 대안이 될 수 있다. 선박 전체의 일반 배치 관점에서 표면파 통신은 상갑판을 통해 크게 거주구역, 화물구역, 선수구역 및 기관구역 간 백본 통신망을 구성할 수 있으며 각 구역 별로는 부재의 개구부를 통해 금속 표면의 연속면을 확보하여 통신할 수 있다. 수밀 격벽의 표면파 통신 관통을 위해 비 도전체로 수밀은 유지한 채 아주 미세한 구멍을 확보하는 것으로도 금속 표면의 연속성을 확보할 수 있다. 이러한 표면파 통신을 활용하면 전파 기반의 무선통신, 비 전파 기반의 무선통신을 통합적으로 구성하여 선박 전체로는 선내 무선 백본망 구성, 그리고 각 구역 별로는 IoT 센서 네트워크 등의 선박 내부 고신뢰성 무선통신 확보가 가능하다.

A statistical procedure of analyzing container ship operation data for finding fuel consumption patterns (연료 소비 패턴 발견을 위한 컨테이너선 운항데이터 분석의 통계적 절차)

  • This study proposes a statistical procedure for analyzing container ship operation data that can help determine fuel consumption patterns. We first investigate the features that affect fuel consumption and develop the prediction model to find current fuel consumption. The ship data can be divided into two-type data. One set of operation data includes sea route, voyage information, longitudinal water speed, longitudinal ground speed, and wind, the other includes machinery data such as engine power, rpm, fuel consumption, temperature, and pressure. In this study, we separate the effects of external force on ships according to Beaufort Scale and apply a partial least squares regression to develop a prediction model.

Improvement of Loran-C Timing Accuracy by Inland Differential ASF Measurements (내륙 differential ASF 측정을 통한 Loran-C 시각 정확도 향상)

  • In this study we measured a differential ASF to improve the accuracy of time synchronization with the signal transmitted from Pohang 9930M Loran station. We obtained the differential ASF which is calculated from a difference of the TOA measurements between KRISS and Chungnam National University(CNU), and KRISS and National Maritime PNT Office respectively. The TOA measurement at KRISS was measured by UTC(KRIS) reference clock and other sites were measured by atomic clocks respectively. The time variations of differential ASF measurements at CNU and National Maritime PNT Office were within $0.1{\mu}s$ and $0.05{\mu}s$ respectively. And we found the time variations of $0.1{\mu}s$ depending on the surrounding radio-wave environments from the differential ASF measurements of 60 minute moving averages. We can improve the accuracy of time synchronization of the local clock to within 10 ns by compensating the differential ASF through removing the common component of ASF. And we measured the absolute ASF between the Pohang transmit station and KRISS by the measurement technique of absolute time delay using a cesium atomic clock. The average ASF between two points is about $3.5{\mu}s$.

How sun spot activity affects on positioning accuracy?: Case study of solar storm (태양 흑점활동이 측위오차에 미치는 영향: 태양폭풍 사례연구)

  • Solar flares have the 11-year cycle and release a large energy which may produce coronal mass ejections (CME). The NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) predicted that the sun spot activity will be maximized in 2013-2014. A strong solar flare can cause the disturbance of global positioning system including various communication of TV, radio broadcasting. The actual solar storm in 1989 caused power outages in Canada during 9 hours and about 600 million people had experienced a blackout. Such a solar storm can shorten the GPS satellite's life span about 5 to 10 years which can resulted in economic loss considering the amount of multi-billion won. This paper analyzed the influence of recent X-class solar storm occurred on 15th of February about 10:45 this year that was reached Korea (Bohyun observatory) on 18th of February about 10:30 (01:30 - UTC), and compared with the data before and after a week. The proton data of 18th of February considered that the solar storm reached on earth showed a fluctuation compared to the data before and after a week. The positioning results at Daejeon and Seoul of Korea also showed higher positioning error compared to the data before and after a week results.

The Fault Diagnosis Model of Ship Fuel System Equipment Reflecting Time Dependency in Conv1D Algorithm Based on the Convolution Network (합성곱 네트워크 기반의 Conv1D 알고리즘에서 시간 종속성을 반영한 선박 연료계통 장비의 고장 진단 모델)

  • The purpose of this study was to propose a deep learning algorithm that applies to the fault diagnosis of fuel pumps and purifiers of autonomous ships. A deep learning algorithm reflecting the time dependence of the measured signal was configured, and the failure pattern was trained using the vibration signal, measured in the equipment's regular operation and failure state. Considering the sequential time-dependence of deterioration implied in the vibration signal, this study adopts Conv1D with sliding window computation for fault detection. The time dependence was also reflected, by transferring the measured signal from two-dimensional to three-dimensional. Additionally, the optimal values of the hyper-parameters of the Conv1D model were determined, using the grid search technique. Finally, the results show that the proposed data preprocessing method as well as the Conv1D model, can reflect the sequential dependency between the fault and its effect on the measured signal, and appropriately perform anomaly as well as failure detection, of the equipment chosen for application.

Stereoscopic Free-viewpoint Tour-Into-Picture Generation from a Single Image (단안 영상의 입체 자유시점 Tour-Into-Picture)

  • The free viewpoint video delivers an active contents where users can see the images rendered from the viewpoints chosen by them. Its applications are found in broad areas, especially museum tour, entertainment and so forth. As a new free-viewpoint application, this paper presents a stereoscopic free-viewpoint TIP (Tour Into Picture) where users can navigate the inside of a single image controlling a virtual camera and utilizing depth data. Unlike conventional TIP methods providing 2D image or video, our proposed method can provide users with 3D stereoscopic and free-viewpoint contents. Navigating a picture with stereoscopic viewing can deliver more realistic and immersive perception. The method uses semi-automatic processing to make foreground mask, background image, and depth map. The second step is to navigate the single picture and to obtain rendered images by perspective projection. For the free-viewpoint viewing, a virtual camera whose operations include translation, rotation, look-around, and zooming is operated. In experiments, the proposed method was tested eth 'Danopungjun' that is one of famous paintings made in Chosun Dynasty. The free-viewpoint software is developed based on MFC Visual C++ and OpenGL libraries.
