  • 제한수역에서 측벽부근을 항행하는 대형선박에 미치는 측벽영향은 대단히 크고, 선박조종운동의 관점에서 보았을 때 상당히 중요한 문제이다. 이 연구에서는 측벽의 길이를 변화시키면서 측벽과 선박과의 종방향 및 횡방향 거리, 측벽의 길이 및 수심에 따른 측벽영향에 대하여 수치 계산하였다.

  • Due to increased competition in supply side to reduce operational costs, port professionals have experienced extreme pressure, which demanded academicians to develop the model for efficient port operations from the industry perspective. Among many ports in the world, U.S. ports are our primary interest to analyze in our study for its high volume of cargoes transacted in the U.S. ports. We primarily employed DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) technique to research the productivity of U.S. ports and applied the algorithm of double bootstrapped DEA proposed by Simar & Wilson (2007) to further investigate the driving forces of the performance of U.S. port operations. The external variables employed in our study comprise onDock Rail, Channel Depth, Location, Area, Acres, ForeignCargoRatio, and TEUChange, out of which onDock Rail, Acres, ForeignCargoRatio, and TEUChange were significant. In order to evaluate the effects of methodology selection, we conducted the same analysis applying the Censored model (Tobit) and contrasted the outcomes drawn from the two different techniques. Based on the findings from this work we proposed managerial implications and concluded.

  • This study aims at calculating berth length required of the given volume of containers. For this, unlike previous studies assuming 300,000 TEU per berth as the capacity of a berth, this study attempts to apply more realistic situation such as the distribution of vessel size, lifts per vessel, berth time by vessel size, and average berth occupancy ratio. the result are compared with that of Pusan New port planning.

  • This paper presents an observer to measure the lengths of cylinders of an underwater robot for harbour construction using a pressure sensor. In harbour constructing, we place heavy armour stones weighing over 2~3 tons on the surface of the bank to protect it from storming wave. This work typically done by a diver is difficult and dangerous so that we have developed Stone Diver which is the underwater robot for harbour construction. The robot needs a position sensor to control the hydraulic cylinder. The position sensors mounted outside the cylinders cause poor durability in construction site where shock and dust usually occur. However, the pressure sensor mounted inside a waterproof box improves the durability. Based on the dynamic parameters and the pressures in the cylinder, the observer measures the cylinder's position. This paper presents the positional accuracy of the pressure based observer and the performance of the underwater robot to assemble the armour stones.

  • In order to mitigate the overcapacity of Busan port, Busan new port has been developed as transshipment port which is capable of handling 8,000 TEU containership. Generally, design of transshipment port has to reflect the capacity of feeder because both mother vessels and feeders enter the planned port at the same time. However, the existing plan of Busan new port capacity needs to be reexamined since the adopted capacity of each berth at new port, 300,000 TEU, does not seem to be enough to handle both mother vessels and feeders. Therefore, in this study we calculated the required number of berth and berth length by considering cargo handling capacity in terms of the ship size and this study makes some implications in relation with the terminal development plan.

이안제 배치에 따른 항내로의 파랑전파특성에 관한 수치해석

  • 항만시설 및 배후지를 파랑으로부터 방호하는 기능을 가지는 외곽시설 중 항내 정온을 유지하여 하역효율을 높이고, 항내 항행 및 정박 중인 선박의 안전을 확보하고, 항내시설을 보전하기 위하여 설치하는 것으로는 방파제가 있으며, 배치형태로는 항의 외곽에 설치되는 경우와 연안으로 이격되어 설치되는 경우가 있다. 연안으로 이격되어 설치되는 이안제는 필연적으로 방파제 양단으로 회절파랑이 발생하게 되며 이안제 좌 우측으로 각각 분기되어 진행하는 파랑은 회절에 의해 방파제 배후 안쪽으로 휘어져 위상간 간섭을 일으키며 중첩되면서 전파된다. 지형적인 여건으로 진행방향이 같아지게 되고 항 입구부로 향한다면 파랑의 에너지 중첩에 의한 영향이 항내로 나타날 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 항 입구부에 이안제가 설치되는 경우, 이안제 길이에 따라 발생하는 좌 우측 회절 파랑의 위상차가 항내 파고에 미치는 영향을 수치실험을 통해 검토하였다. 이로부터 항내에서의 파고는 이안제의 길이에 따른 좌 우측 회절 파랑의 위상차에 의한 중첩의 영향으로 증폭 혹은 상쇄되어 나타남을 확인하였다.

A Study on the Optimization of Linear Equalizer for Underwater Acoustic Communication (수중음향통신을 위한 선형등화기의 최적화에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, the method that reduce a computation time by optimizing computation process is proposed to realize low-power underwater acoustic communication system. At first, dependency of decision delay on tap length of linear equalizer was investigated. Variance is calculated based on this result, and the optimal decision delay bound is estimated. In addition to decide optimal tap length with decision delay, we extracted the MSE(Mean Square Error) graph. From the graph, we obtained variance value of the MSE-decision delay, and estimated the optimum decision delay range from the variance value. Also, using the extracted optimal parameters, we performed a simulation. According to the result, the simulation employing optimal tap length, which is only 40% of maximum tap length, showed a satisfactory performance comparable to simulation employing maximum tap length. We verified that the proposed method has 33% lower tap length than maximal tap length via sea trial.

An Empirical Study on the Clustering Measurement and Trend Analysis among the Asian Ports Using the Context-dependent and Measure-specific Models (컨텍스트의존 모형 및 측정특유 모형을 이용한 아시아항만들의 클러스터링 측정 및 추세분석에 관한 실증적 연구)

  • The purpose of this paper is to show the clustering trend by using the context-dependent and measure-specific models for 38 Asian ports during 10 years(2001-2009) with 4 inputs and 1 output. The main empirical results of this paper are as follows. First, clustering results by using context-dependent and measure-specific models are same. Second, the most efficient clustering was shown among the Hong Kong, Singapore, Ningbo, Guangzhou, and Kaosiung ports. Third, Port Sultan Qaboos, Jeddah, and Aden ports showed the lowest level clustering. Fourth, ranking order of attractiveness is Guangzhou, Dubai, HongKong, Ningbo, and Shanghai, and the results of progressive scores confirmed that low level ports can increase their efficiency by benchmarking the upper level ports. Fifth, benchmark share showed that Dubai(birth length), and HongKong(port depth, total area, and no. of cranes) have affected the efficiency of the inefficient ports.

소규모 인접 컨테이너터미널의 운영 효율성 제고를 위한 Yard Co-petition Area 활용 모델 연구

  • 컨테이너터미널은 적정 규모의 선석(길이)과 야드 부지를 확보하였을 때, 운영 효율성이 극대화 될 수 있다. 하지만 부산신항을 비롯한 일부 컨테이너항만은 운영주체 분리로 인해 소규모 터미널이 분리 운영되어 물류 효율성에 제약이 존재한다. 이 연구에서는 인접한 2개의 소규모 터미널에 야드 코피티션 영역을 활용할 경우, 기존에 비해 전체 터미널 운영(물류) 효율성이 크게 제고될 수 있음을 분석한다.

  • A mathematical model has been developed to evaluate the capability of sea water exchanges under tidal and diffusive environments and has been verified through comparison with numerical experiments. From the mathematical analysis, this study presents the rates of sea water exchanges due to the tidal inflow and diffusion process. The port characteristic length $L_p$ is the most significant evaluation index.
