An Analysis on the Utilization of STAR (Standard Terminal Arrival Route) and CDO (Continuous Descent Operation) Flight Ratio in the Domestic Airport (국내 표준계기도착절차(STAR)의 활용도 및 연속강하접근 운항 비율 분석)

  • In response to the recent surge in aviation demand, major airport and aviation authorities continue to make efforts to formulate arrival procedures that take into account efficient aircraft separation, noise and environmental issues related to carbon (CO2) emissions. In order to ensure efficient traffic control and environmental issues, as a result, a new concept Trombone, Point Merge, etc. have been introduced and widely used. However, these new concept incisions are becoming a factor that hinders operational efficiency and stability due to the restricted domestic airspace such as military airspace and excessive constraints of altitude, speed, etc. which do not reflect the concept of continuous descent operation and eventually needs to be modified to make continuous descent operation as feasible as possible. We herewith analyze and propose the way of improving flight safety and efficiency in the arrival operation procedure by supplementary modification which consequently contribute to the aviation industry international competitiveness.

A Study on Airline Love Mark and Relation Continuing Intention (항공사 러브마크와 관계지속의도에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, The purpose is to understand the influence of lovemark on relation continuing intention. As a result of reliability analysis, the Cronbach's α coefficient of all variables such as lovemark, relation continuing intention showed 0.8 or more, thus ensuring reliability. The results of regression analysis between variables for hypothesis testing are as follows. as a result of analysis on the effect of lovemark on the relation continuing intention, it showed that both factors of love and respect dimension had significant influences, and that the relationship intension also increased as the love and respect dimension increased. As a result of this study, In order to increase lovemark and relationship intension, it was also confirmed that efforts should be focused on immersion between airlines and customers. It was confirmed that efforts to increase the airline's lovemark are needed to retain existing customers and attract new customers.

A Study on Self-Efficacy and Academic Adjustment Among the Aviation-related College Students (항공계열 대학생의 자기효능감 및 학업적 적응에 관한 연구)

  • Recently the departments of aviation-related in the college are increased as the aviation industry is rapidly expanded. To enhance their competitiveness and have differentiation, it is emphasized for each department to manage and teach their students well. Therefore this study aims to examine self-efficacy and academic adjustment of aviation-related college students and investigate the relationship between self-efficacy and academic adjustment. To achieve the objectives, it conducted a survey of aviation-related college students in C university from Apr. 27th. 2015 to May. 22th. 2015. A total of 225 questionnaires were analyzed using SPSS 18.0 statistical package program and frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, multiple regression analysis, correlation analysis and one-way ANOVA were conducted. The result released that general self-efficacy was recognized higher at the department of aviation operation than aviation maintenance and aviation service and social self-efficacy was recognized higher at the department of aviation service than aviation maintenance and aviation operation. Also general self-efficacy had an influence on the motivation, application and performance and social self-efficacy affected motivation, performance and academic environment. The implication of these findings would help to manage aviation-related college students, develop their departments and provide the directions for future research.

Comparison of the Characteristics of Air Trade Import and Export between Countries with FTA and Non-FTA Countries (FTA 체결국과 비체결국의 항공무역 수출입 특성 비교)

  • In this study, based on actual data for the past 20 years, the factors affecting aviation trade were identified by classifying the countries that concluded FTAs with Korea and those that did not, through panel analysis. The amount was analyzed by dividing it into exports and imports, and differences between countries with FTAs and non-FTAs were also derived. As a result of the analysis, both exports and imports showed a positive(+) direction for the counterpart country's GDP per capita and Korea's GDP, and a negative(-) direction for the counterpart country's GDP and Korea's per capita GDP in the case of a country that signed an FTA. On the other hand, in the case of non-FTA countries, the GDP of both countries showed a positive(+) direction and per capita GDP showed a negative(-) direction. International oil prices did not show any significant results. As such, the results of the analysis of exports and imports are similar, but the difference is that the GDP variable acts in different directions between countries with and without FTAs.

  • Globalization has significantly elevated the importance of the aviation sector in the global economy. However, despite the pivotal role airports play, some have struggled to maintain sustainability. Based on these problems, the purpose of this study is to understand the effect of Regional airports' perceived critical success factors and its effect on the performance of airports. This paper surveyed personnel who worked at regional airport and conducted an empirical analysis based on survey results. The study validates hypotheses pertaining to the critical success factors within regional airports and its influences on management performance. The comprehensive analysis reveals that, central governments has a positive impact on the regional airports' team·process·organizational factors. Furthermore, the team and organizational factors exerts positive influence on the management performance. This paper offers empirical insights to regional airports's critical success factors and its impact on airports' performance.

  • UAM is emerging due to the deepening population concentration in the metropolitan area and the problem of congested ground transportation in urban areas. Accordingly, along with research on eVTOL aircraft for UAM services, interest in vertiport, the interest in vertiports, the infrastructure that allows eVTOLs to take off and land, is also increasing. However, behind the concentration of population in the metropolitan area, aphenomenon of local extinction is occurring in conjunction with the aging population. AAM, which moves quickly through 3D space, can be an effective SOC facility in times of local extinction crisis. In this paper, we introduce a design plan from the perspective of a complex transper center for a regional hub-level vertiport that can connect with local high-speed rail and utilize local airports in compliance with the vertiport design guidelines issued by FAA(Federal Aviation Administration) and EASA(European union Aviation Safety Agency). We would like to present Vertiport's future operation plan.

  • This study used the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology(UTAUT) model to find factors that influence consumer acceptance intention toward Vertiport, a physical ground support technology required to implement AAM services. The analysis showed that among the four independent variables, Vertiport's social influence and facilitating conditions have a significant impact on future Vertiport usage behavior. At this point, the public has not yet had actual experience with Vertiport, so there is a limitation of considering it as a future concept based on speculation and measuring acceptance by actual behaviors related to its use (inquiries, information gathering, interest, etc.). Research on acceptance and attitudes toward new transportation methods should be further activated and developed along with future service development. Through the results of this study, we aim to understand the initial public acceptance of Vertiport as a ground-based infrastructure in the AAM field (or UAM) and propose strategic implications for the direction of service development.

  • This study aims to forecast of Air Passenger Demand between South Korea and North Korea using the system dynamics analysis methodology that is based on the system thinking. System dynamics is not only a tool that makes the systematic thought to a model but also a computer program-based analysis methodology that mathematically models the system varying according to time variation. This study analyzed the causal relationship based on the interrelation among variables and structured them by considering various variables that affect aviation cooperation from the perspective of Air passenger demand forecasting. In addition, based on the causal relationship between variables, this study also completed the causal loop diagram that forms a feedback loop, constructed the stock-flow diagram of Inter-Korean model using Vensim program. In this study, Air passenger demand was using by the simulation variable value into System Dynamics. This study was difficult to reflect the various variables constituting the North Korea environment, and there is a limit to the occurrence of events in North Korea.

Characteristics Analysis of Accident Factors of UK Civil Unmanned Aircraft Using SHELL Model and HFACS (SHELL 모델과 HFACS를 활용한 영국 민간 무인 항공기 사고 요인 특징 분석)

  • The unmanned aerial vehicle industry has developed a lot, but the possibility of accidents is increasing due to potential risks. In this study, SHELL models and HFACS were used to analyze unmanned aerial vehicle accidents in the UK and to identify the main causes and characteristics of accidents. The main cause analyzed by the SHELL model was identified as an abnormality in the alarm system. The main cause of the accident analyzed by HFACS was identified as the technical environment. The common cause identified by the SHELL model and HFACS was identified as a mechanical problem of unmanned aerial vehicles. This is due to the lack of accurate information or functionality of the alarm system in the operator interface, which often prevents the operator from responding to sensitive information. Therefore, in order to prevent civil UAV accidents, the stability and reliability of the system must be secured through regular inspections of the UAV system and continuous software updates. In addition, an ergonomic approach considering human interfaces is needed when developing technologies.

  • 현대 항공기의 특징인 자동화나 컴퓨터화는 조종석(Glass cockpit)에서의 조종사 임무를 변화시켜, 과거에는 항공기를 조종하기 위하여 속도, 고도, 항로를 유지하는 것이 주된 임무였으나, 현대 항공기의 경우에는 이러한 일은 거의 모두 자동화 되어 조종사는 일명 'Glass cockpit' 내에서 화면을 통하여 비행 진행 상태를 모니터하고 필요한 사항을 컴퓨터에 입력하여 지시하는 형태로 바뀌었다. 따라서 조종사 교육제도도 과거의 기술(Skill)이나 절차(Procedure)를 위주로 하던 형태에서, 이제는 조종사에게 관리자(Manager)로서의 능력을 부여할 수 있는 교육내용이 요구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 항공기술 발전과 특히 미래 항행시스템의 개발에 관하여 살펴보고, 운항환경 변화에 따른 변화된 조종사의 역할과 이를 기준으로 우리나라의 대표적 민간 조종사 교육기관이라 할 수 있는 한국 항공대학교 항공운항학과와 대한항공의 기초비행 훈련원, 아시아나 항공의 초기조종사 훈련과정(Ab-initio)의 교육내용을 비교 분석하여 앞으로 조종사 교육에 있어서 추가되어야 하거나 개선되어야 할 내용에 관하여 연구하였다.
