We have developed of a criterion that would help to select and develop performance assessments in science education. There are six categories of a criterion: Fidelity, satisfaction, content validity, fairness & suitability, reliability & objectivity, and usability. There are the total of 25 sub-categories under the six categories. Five science educators evaluated the validity of the criterion. For reliability of the criterion, Kendall's tau-b was used. Eight science educators and elementary teachers evaluated three performance assessment tasks for the correspondence of the criterion. This study also discuss the implications of this criterion as well.

This study suggests methods of assessing scientific creativity and developing items, which can be achieved when both earth science knowledge and general creativity are applied at the same time. According to the results of this study, the cognitive ability gaps between creativity and scientific creativity were clearly defined by the terms' operational definition. Four factors in the Subcategory Of Scientific Creativity-fluency, flexibility, elaboration, and originality-were selected, and the possibility of developing items out of these factors was discovered. The operational definitions of the four factors were given and the criteria for assessment and scoring were set. The validity, reliability, discrimination, and difficulty, which were the conditions required for the assessment instruments, were verified through three field trials of inputting the assessment instruments for scientific creativity. The assessment instruments were composed of 8 items with 2items for each factor. The average item fitness index obtained was 0.99, Cronbach , the item inter-consistency was 0.79,the inter-rater reliability of each item was 0.78, the inter-rater reliability of each factor was 0.75, the item discrimination power was 0.19, and the item difficulty was 0.00. Because the results were within the permitted limit of the conditions required for assessment instruments, the assessment instruments developed for scientific creativity in this study can be said to be very favorable.

퍼지 속성 공간(fuzzy property space)은 데이터베이스의 각 객체를 분류하고 분석하는데 유용한 도구로서 사용됨을 보였다[1]. 이는 수학적인 속성 집합 이론(property set theory)[2]에 근간을 두고 만들어진 이론으로, 데이터의 분석에 무척 유리한 도구로 사용될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 근래에 들어 많은 연구가 이루어지고 있는 분산 데이터베이스 환경(distributed database management)에서 이를 응용해보고자 시도하였다. 즉, 분산 환경에서 어떠한 객체의 데이터를 상호 교환하고자 하는 간단한 상호 작용(object interoperability)을 수행함에 있어, 각 시스템은 이들 상호간의 규약에 의한 합치(object integration)를 이룰 수 있어야 한다. 여기에 퍼지 속성 공간을 이용하여, 가장 근사한 합치를 이룰 수 있도록 하는 것이다. 예를 들어, A와 B 두 개의 시스템에서 객체의 상호 작용을 수행한다. 하면, A시스템의 하나의 객체를 두 개의 공통된 속성 공간에 위치시키고, B라는 시스템에서 이를 다시 해석하여 자신의 데이터베이스에 입력으로 받아들이는 방식을 채택하여 상호 작용의 연산을 설계하는 방식이다.

이 논문에서는 MPEG-4 SVC 신호를 DVB-S2 전송시스템에 적용하여 Ka대역 위성방송서비스를 제공하는 전송방안에 대한 연구를 하였다. SVC신호는 계층 수를 2개로 제한하였으며, 이러한 다계층 신호를 DVB-S2 전송시스템에 적용하기 위하여, 성상도상에서 각 계층의 신호를 동기적으로 합치는 Hierarchical 변조방식과 각 계층의 전송스트림을 RF 주파수 상에서 비동기적으로 합치는 방식인 Layered 변조방식을 사용하였다. 각 전송방안에서 변조방식과 채널 부호율을 결합 소스/채널 부호화 방안에 따라 변화시켜 최적의 전송기법을 도출하였다.

This research focused on the examination of a "Goodness of Fit" model with reference to the interaction effects of temperament and context. Two hundred forty 5th graders from urban and rural areas were administered the EAS (Emotionality, Activity, Sociability) and the Perceived Competence scales. The degree of satisfaction of mothers with their children's temperament was assessed for the context measure. Results of hierarchical multiple regression analyses showed that the interaction of children's emotion and mothers' satisfaction with children's emotion explained perceived social competence and general self-worth. This result supported the goodness of fit model. However, interaction effects were not found in children's perception of cognitive and physical competence. Also, children's activity and sociability showed strong main effects on perceived competence. It implies that activity and sociability should be applied to the personological model. The implication of the findings for following studies of goodness of fit model were discussed.
