Composition and Microstructure of Sn-Ni alloys Electrodeposits according to the Electrodeposits conditions (전해조건에 따른 Sn-Ni 합금도금층의 조성 및 조직 특성)

  • The composition and the microstructure of the Sn-Ni alloy electrodeposited in pyrophosphate bath were investigated according to the electrolysis conditions. The cathode current efficiency increased with the addition of $NH_4CI$ and glycine, while it decreased with the increase of current density. The Sn content of the alloy deposits increased with the increase of $NH_4CI$ in the bath. The alloys with 51~71wt.% Sn had the NiSn single phase structure. The preferred orientation of the single phase alloys changed from (110) to (110)+(101) with the increase of current density and cathode overpotential. The single phase alloys with 50~60wt.%Sn had the smooth surface structure with fine crystallite, while the multiphase alloys showed the surface structure with crystal size and cracks at high curret density.

A Study on Durability of Sprayed Coating Layer in the Molten Zn-0.2% Al Alloy Bath (아연-0.2%알루미늄합금 용융도금액 중에서 용사층의 내구성에 관한 연구)

  • Sink roll has been used in molten Zn-0.2%Al alloy bath of continuous galvanizing line in sinking and stabilizing process of the steel strip in molten metal bath. In this process, although the scraper scraps off the sink roll surface, the dross compounds is builded up on the sink roll surface and the life time of the sink roll is shorten by the dross compounds. The present study was investigated the application of the spray coating layer on sink roll body for improving durability In molten Zn-0.2%Al alloy. Through the durability tests in molten Zn-0.2%Al alloy with various ceramic and cermet coating layer, the optimum bond and top coating material was obtained. As the results, the system of STS430F base metal, WC-l7Co bond and $ZrO_2-SiO_2$ top coating was clarified to be the best quality of durability in molten Zn-0.2%Al alloy.

  • 일반적으로 압출용 빌렛트제조에는 빌렛트상하의 품질변화로 수평연속주조법이 사용되지 않고 있지만 전자기교반법을 이용할 경우 이러한 단점이 없어진다. 따라서 전자기교반장치를 설치한 수평연속주조장치를 이용하여 연주빌렛트를 제조하였다. 최대자속밀도가 1000Gauss 인 전자기교반장치를 설계 제작하였으며, 간접냉각방식의 흑연몰드에서 알루미늄합금을 사용하여 건전한 연주빌렛트를 제조할 수 있는 여러 공정조건을 조사 검토하여 직경 70mm의 기포가 없고 표면이 미려한 등축정을 가진 연주빌렛트를 제조하였다. 인출속도에 따른 수평 연속주조 빌렛트의 표면, 용탕유동라인 및 조직을 검토한 결과 평균인출속도 20mm/min에서 40mm/min까지 아주 미려한 표면특성을 가졌으며, 인출속도가 빠르면 유동라인이 표면에서 중심 쪽으로 완만한 기울기를 가지게 되어 표면응고층이 얇아져 빌렛트가 고액계면에서 끊어지게 되며, 조직미세화는 인출속도가 클수록 미세화되었으나, 결정구상화정도는 인출속도가 빠를수록 악화되었다.

  • 합금화용융아연도금강판(GA)은 가격이 저렴하고 내식성 및 용접성이 우수하여 최근 자동차용강판으로 그 사용량이 급격하게 증가하고 있으나 도금밀착성이 나쁘고 프레스성형이 떨어지는 단점을 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 GA 도금층에 여러가지 유,무기계 윤활처리를 실시하여 이것이 마찰특성은 물론 용접성, 도장성 및 내식성에 미치는 영향을 평가하였다. 유기계 윤활피막은 가공성과 도금 밀착성에서 유리하나 용접성과 탈지성에서는 불리하였고, 무기계 윤활피막인 Prephosphate 및 금속윤활처리 강판은 가공성에서는 유기윤활피막 보다 약간 떨어지나 용접성과 탈지성에서는 우수한 결과를 나타냈다.

  • Recently, automobile industry has led to increasing use of aluminum alloy for weight reduction. Automobile made of aluminum alloy can be given lighter, stronger and a harder surface by anodizing than one made of steel-alloy. In this paper, we investigate the influence of lap length, adherend thickness and adhesive thickness on adhesive strength of single-lap adhesive joints by conducting tensile-shear tests. Single-lap adhesive joints of aluminum was calculated using joint factor by using adhesive length, adherend thickness of specimen.

  • This paper has comparatively analyzed the characteristics of the machined surface of a specimen made by machining Die Steel STD11 and a specimen obtained by W-EDM steel. If a press die is manufactured through W-EDM, products of shapes that cannot easily be made through machining can be manufactured easily. However, the life of the press die is significantly reduced compared with the press die made through machining. This is believed to be caused by the deformed layer that has occurred on the surface of the press die that was made through W-EDM. The roughness of the 2 specimens was measured, and it was learned that the distribution of the roughness of the specimen made through the 1st W-EDM was rough.

  • Aluminum 4343(filler thickness ; 10${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$/Al 3N03(core 80${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$)/Al 4343(filler 10${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$) clad sheet which is recently developed as brazing sheet materials for automotive condensers was fabricated by castinglongrightarrowhot rollinglongrightarrowcold rollinglongrightarrowintermediate annealing(IA)longrightarrowfinal cold rolling(CR). and the effect of IA/CR conditions on microstructure and sagging resistance were investigated the sheet which were fabricated by optimum conditions (IA'ed at 42$0^{\circ}C$ followed by CR'ed to 20~45%) showed good sagging resistance because the core obtained a coarsely recrystallized grain structure during brazing and consequently inhibited filled alloy penetration into the core.

  • The effects of electrolysis conditions on the composition and preferred orientation of Ni-Fe alloy were studied using the sulfate-chloride baths paddle agitated. Cathode current efficiency is higher in the deposits from bath 2 than that of deposits from bath 1. The Fe content of alloy deposits from bath 2 is nearly constant(19∼21wt.%) in the wide range of current density, while it decreases noticeably with current density in the deposits from bath 1. The variation of Fe content at the edge of specimen is lower in deposits from bath 2 than those from bath 1. The alloy deposits show (111) & (200) preferred orientation for the deposits from bath 1 and bath 2 respectively.

  • The effect of variation of pack activators, compositions, temperature and time on the thickness and structure of aluminide coatings formed on the TiAl alloy was studied in one-step packs and two-step packs containing aluminum for the purpose of improvement of oxidation resistance. The thickness of coating layer was increased with increasing $NH_4Cl$ content up to 3wt% and then it was saturated. Oxidation resistance of coating layers carried out at one step pack was superior to that of ones through of two step pack. The improvement of high temperature oxidation resistance was due to the formation of a protective $Al_2O_3$ surface layers and coating the alloys with $TiAl_3$ phase.

Shape and Chemical Composition of Laser Surface Alloyed Layer under Moving Laser Source (공정변수에 따른 레이저표면합금층의 형상 및 성분변화에 관한 연구)

  • This study includes a basic feature of laser surface alloying for enhancing the surface properties of materials. Effects of laser processing parameters such as beam power, beam size, scanning speed on the shape and composition of alloyed layer was simulated in case of moving beam conditions (2-dimensional numerical methods). Simulated results were compared with experiments, in which the plasma coating of 80% Ni + 20% Cr deposited on the SS41 substrate was remelted with CO2 laser with Gaussian energy distribution. Simulation and experiments revealed that the shape (dimension)and composition of laser alloyed layer were strongly dependent upon the process parameters, especially interaction time (travel speed) as compared to beam diameter, beam power and absorptivity. The shape and composition of alloyed layervaried more or less exponentially with parameters.
