Implementation of Integrated Platform of Face Recognition CCTV and Home IOT (안면인식 CCTV와 홈 IOT의 통합 플랫폼 구현)

  • As the existing face recognition CCTV and home IOT have each individual hardware component, they have a disadvantage that the measured results of their sensors and the CCTV can not be viewed on one screen at a time. In order to overcome the above disadvantages of existing CCTV and home IOT, this paper proposes an integrated platform which constitutes the CCTV and home IOT as one hardware component using Raspberry Pi and shows each result on one screen through Smartphone application. The proposed integrated platform CCTV and home IOT system is a system which can run the application as a Smartphone and check the sensor value measured by Raspberry Pi and the picture taken through the Pi camera. The implemented system measures temperature, humidity, gas, and dust, and implements face recognition technology on a screen shot through a Pi camera, allowing it to be seen at a glance with a Smartphone.

  • Paper electrophoretic separation of soybean protein using phosphate buffer(pH. 7.6, I. 0.18) was carried out and revealed five components. The ratio of each component extracted with the phosphate buffer was estimated as follows. Component %(aver.) Component I 14.47 Component II 7.22 Component III 4.43 Component IV 71.7 Component V 2.18 Also, each component of phosphate buffer extract was identified as: Component identified Component I identified phaseolin Component II identified glutelin Component III identified $albumin\;{\alpha}$ Component IV identified glycinin Component V identified $albumin\;{\alpha}$ The quantitative determination of the components was performed with twenty five varieties of Korean soybean and turned out to indicate marked difference between the varities in the ratio of the components.

  • Seed separation out of fresh red pepper by impact methods was effective but impossible to separate over 45% of seed. For the increase of seed separation, dehydration effect was studied with the slices of pepper. Heat deformation during the course of drying at hot air of 0. 61m/sec velocity at temperature of $65^{\circ}C$, increased the separation up to 93% with a halfcut pepper. Seed separation was remarkably different upon the location of cut, but it was completed prio tothe completion of drying in every cutting orientations. From these results a simultaneous seed separation and drying operation techniques is successfully developed.

A Study of the Unilateral Trade Policy of the United States: A Case Study of the Automobile Industry (미국의 일방주의 통상정책 사례에 대한 연구: 자동차 산업을 중심으로)

  • The United States is often perceived as a free-trading nation as it significantly contributed to the establishment of the GATT and WTO in the 20th century. With the inauguration of the Trump Administration in 2017, however, trading partners of the United States are faced with great concerns over the 'new' aggressive, protectionist and above all, unilateral trade threats posed by the United States under the name of 'America-First' trade policy. However, the recent unilateral trade actions by the United States are not new, but has historically and continuously been used to protect its key industries, like the automobile sector. This paper analyzes the historical cases of the unilateral trade policy of the United States in the automobile industry, targeting Korea and Japan in the 1980s, 1990s and 2010s. Then, we draw future implications for other key industries of the United States such as IT, intellectual property, services and agricultural sectors. This study evaluates whether such unilateral practices have brought successful and expected outcomes in favor of the United States.

Isolation and Characteristics of Bacteriocin-producing Bacteria from the Intestine of Duck for Probiotics (오리로부터 박테리오신을 생산하는 프로바이오틱 미생물의 분리 및 특성)

  • The aim of this study was to isolate and characterize bacteriocin-producing bacteria from the intestine of duck to use as probiotics for livestock. A total of 416 strains were isolated from the small intestine and cecum of ducks and 13 isolates were finally selected after determinging inhibitory activity against pathogenic indicators by spot-on-lawn method. The selected strains were identified as Lactobacillus salivarius JWS 58, Lactobacillus plantarum JWS 1354, Pediococcus pentosaceus JWS 939, 7 strains of enterococci, and 3 strains of Escherichia coli. Lact. salivarius JWS 58, Ent. faecium JWS 833, and Ped. pentosaceus JWS 939 showed a strong inhibitory activity against Listeria monocytogenes. E. coli JWS 108 inhibited the growth of E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus. Lact. salivarius JWS 58 strain survived almost 50% in pH 2.5 phosphate buffer for 2 hr. Ped. pentosaceus JWS 939 and Lact. plantarum JWS 1354 showed strong amylolytic activity. These results suggest that a combination of bacteriocins or multispecies probiotics of the selected strains has a strong potential of alternative to antibiotics in livestock production.

  • GTL(Gas-to-Liquids)공정 중 합성가스 제조공정(Reforming Process)인 ATR(Auto-Thermal Reforming), SCR(Steam Carbon Reforming), POx(Partial Oxidation)의 시뮬레이션 연구를 수행하였다. Reforming 공정에서 생산된 합성가스는 GTL 합성유 제조공정인 FT(Fischer-Thropsch) 반응기로 주입되며, 합성유 생산에 최적의 효율을 보이는 H2/CO 비(합성가스에 포함된 반응물비)는 2.0으로 알려져 있다. FT공정은 합성가스를 원료로 고온 및 고압 반응을 거쳐 GTL 공정의 최종 생산품인 FT합성유를 제조하는 공정이다. 본 연구에서는 FT공정 효율 극대화를 위해 reforming 공정에서 생성되는 합성가스 내 H2/CO의 비를 2로 수렴토록 모사조건을 설정하였으며, 상기 조건을 만족하는 reforming 공정들의 운전 온도 및 feed 조성을 분석하고 비교하고자 한다. 현재 GTL 플랜트관련 산업계에 적용 혹은 주 연구대상인 reforming 공정으로는 ATR, SCR, POx 공정이 있다. ATR 공정은 $850{\sim}1100^{\circ}C$에서 메탄, 스팀 및 산소를 원료로 활용하여 H2 및 CO를 생산하는 공정으로 발열/흡열 반응이 상존하여 에너지 비용이 낮지만 공정구조 상 열회수설비 및 ASU(Air Separation Unit)이 필요하기에 CAPEX(초기설비 설치비용)가 높은 편이다. SCR공정은 CH4, Steam 및 CO2를 연료로 하기에 이산화탄소가 일정부분 포함된 가스전에도 적용이 가능하나 공정 운전 중 지속적으로 외부에서 열을 공급해야 하기에 에너지 투입비용이 높은편이며, 탄소침적의 문제가 있어 대용량 플랜트에는 적합하지 않다. POx공정은 약 $1,500^{\circ}C$의 고온에서 CH4가 O2에 의해 부분 산화되는 방식으로 촉매가 필요없어 설비비가 타 공정에 비해 저렴하나 생산가스의 H2/CO비가 다소 낮아 전체적인 GTL 공정효율이 저하되는 단점이 있다. 상기 세 공정은 GTL 산업계에서 실증 및 효율증대를 위해 주로 연구되는 공정이기에 본 연구의 분석대상으로 설정하였다. 본 연구에서는 상용공정모사기인 Aspen Plus를 활용하여 reforming 공정별로 FT합성공정의 최적 조건(H2/CO=2)을 만족하는 합성가스 생산조건 분석 및 비교를 수행할 예정이다. 운전조건인 공정 운전온도 및 feed 가스조성 등을 모사하기 위해 합성가스 reforming 공정을 모델링하고 공급유량 및 압력 등의 운전변수는 GTL국책과제 1단계 연구수행 결과를 토대로 선정하고자 한다. GTL공정의 경우, 설비의 운전조건이나 연료가스의 구성 및 유량에 따라 적합한 reforming 공정이 다르기에 본 시뮬레이션 결과를 향후 GTL 플랜트 공정모델 설계시 reforming 공정선정에 참고자료로 활용하고자 한다.

Characterization of Antimicrobial Substance Produced by Lactobacillus sp. HN 235 Isolated from Pig Intestine (돼지 장관으로부터 분리한 Lactobacillus sp. HN 235 균주가 생산하는 항균물질의 특성)

  • In order to develop probiotics which may be a viable alternative of antibiotic use in pig industry, five bacterial strains (Lactobacillus sp. HN 52, 92, 98, 235 and AP 116) possessing antimicrobial properties were selected from 500 strains isolates of pig intestines. The bacteriocin produced by Lactobacillus sp. HN 235 displayed a relative broad spectrum of inhibitory activity against all Enterococcus strains, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Listeria monocytogenes and Clostridium perfringens using the spot-on-lawn method. The production of antimicrobial substance started in the middle of the exponential growth phase, reached maximum levels (6,400 AU/mL) in the stationary phase, and then declined. Bacteriocin activity remained unchanged after 30 min of heat treatment at $95^{\circ}C$ and stable from pH 2.0 to 10 for 1 h, or exposure to organic solvents; however, it diminished after treatment with proteolytic enzymes. The molecular weight of the bacteriocin was about 5 kDa according to a tricine SDS-PAGE analysis.

  • Wedge locks have been widely used for spaceborne electronics for mounting or removal of a printed circuit board (PCB) during integration, test and maintenance process. However, it can basically provide a mechanical constraint on the edge of the board. Thus, securing a fatigue life of solder joint for electronic package by limiting board deflection becomes difficult as the board size increases. Previously, additional stiffeners have been applied to reduce the board deflection, but the mass and volume increases of electronics are unavoidable. To overcome the aforementioned limitation, we proposed an application of multi-layered PCB sheet with viscoelastic adhesive tapes to implement high-damping capability on the board. Thus, it is more advantageous in securing the fatigue life of package under launch environment compared with the previous approach. The basic characteristics of the PCB with the multi-layered sheet was investigated through free-vibration tests at various temperatures. The effectiveness of the proposed design was validated through launch vibration test at qualification level and fatigue life prediction of electronic package based on the test results.

  • This invention is purposed to provide an innovative solution for the inside of roof structures, which is cultural assets. The Asian old houses generally have several layered roofs on top of the structures. If a fire has started inside of the roof, it is hard to be extinguished before eliminating all the upper layers of the roof. This invention provides pre constructed embedded pipes, which is flammable and easy to be dissolved by the fire. The material of pipe is composed of rubbers, of which the combustion point is so low that the extinguishing of initial fire is possible without additional fire service. The inside of pipe is filled with halon gas. If the filled gas is consumed after ignited by fire, additional fire extinguishing water is supplied. If the flexible pipes are totally combusted by a big fire, the sprinkler at the end of inflexible pipe will work continuously, which is located between flexible and inflexible pipes. The extinguishing pipe network is suggested as dividing whole roof as multiple sections for a swift fire extinguishing in case of intentional or natural fire attack to our invaluable cultural assets.

Study on the Applicability of High Frequency Seismic Reflection Method to the Inspection of Tunnel Lining Structures - Physical Modeling Approach - (터널 지보구조 진단을 위한 고주파수 탄성파 반사법의 응용성 연구 - 모형 실험을 중심으로 -)

  • In recent years two reflection methods, i.e. GPR and seismic Impact-Echo, are usually performed to obtain the information about tunnel lining structures composed of concrete lining, shotcrete, water barrier, and voids at the back of lining. However, they do not lead to a desirable resolution sufficient for the inspection of tunnel safety, due to many problems of interest including primarily (1) inner thin layers of lining structure itself in comparison with the wavelength of source wavelets, (2) dominant unwanted surface wave arrivals, (3) inadequate measuring strategy. In this sense, seismic physical modeling is a useful tool, with the use of the full information about the known physical model, to handle such problems, especially to study problems of wave propagation in such fine structures that are not amenable to theory and field works as well. Thus, this paper deals with various results of seismic physical modeling to enable to show a possibility of detecting the inner layer boundaries of tunnel lining structures. To this end, a physical model analogous to a lining structure was built up, measured and processed in the same way as performed in regular reflection surveys. The evaluated seismic section gives a clear picture of the lining structure, that will open up more consistent direction of research into the development of an efficient measuring and processing technology.
