This is a clinical report on a patient with Diabetes Mellitus treated with Traditional Korean Medicine. We applied herbal medication and western medication depending of symptoms of the patient. We observed the change of serum glucose (FBS/PP2hrs) daily and HbA1c. During the treatment and observation, result of serum glucose (FBS/PP2hrs) and HbA1c was well controlled and insulin administration was decreased. Above the results, Traditional Korean Medicine was effective to control type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Hiccups is one of the omnipresent phenomenon occurring in everyone. Most episodes are time-limited, but, sometimes, they become intractable and protracted for a long time. In most cases, they are idiopathic. But, sometimes there are cases which have diverse kinds of underlying disorders. In this study, the author reports a case of idiopathic and persistent hiccups. He recently encountered a 64 year old male patient with intractable and persistent hiccups for over two weeks. By using the method of 8 Constitutional Acupuncture therapy and herbal medication( Hyangsapyeungwutang) regarding him as RENOTONIA. After 7days of treatment, the symptoms disappeared.

Objective : This study is to investigate the effect of 8 Constitution Acupuncture on allergic rhinitis patients Methods : We treated 3 allergic rhinitis patients diagnosed as Colonotonia with 8 Constitution Acupuncture by dry needle. The degree of improvement was evaluated by Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) Results & Conclusions : After taking 8 Constitution Acupuncture sessions, the symptoms of allergic rhinitis was improved. After 8 Constitution Diet, the effect of therapy was lingered. This study shows that the allergic rhinitis can possibly be treated not only with herb medicine, but also with acupuncture and diet.

This report is to introduce a specific acupuncture methods as a cosmetic treatment. I applied wu-xing(五行) acupuncture technique to 11 patients for smooth out skin wrinkles. There were visual improvement of patients' facial skin. This methods cuts SMAS, stimulates dermis, and helps to recover skin volume and generate new dermal tissue by wound-healing mechanism.

Background & Objective : Microneedle therapy system(MTS) is popular these days. However, there are few reports about it in oriental medicine academia. This study is performed to evaluate the effect of MTS on acne patients. Methods : This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of MTS. Seven patients were treated for 7 weeks. Follow-up was performed after the treatment with Janus facial analysis system, skindex-29 and Digital Infrared Thermographic Imaging machine. Satisfaction degree and inconvenience were asked from the patients. Results and Conclusions : Microneedle therapy system(MTS) was good for acne like pore, wrinkle, spot(polarised), sebum, porphyrin and skin tone. Especially it had excellent effects on sebum and porphyrin.

Objectives The study was conducted to evaluate the recent treatment and study trends of tic disorder by reviewing domestic and international randomized controlled studies. Methods The acupuncture treatment on tic disorder randomized control study articles (published by June 10th, 2016) were selected from seven academic literature archives; NDSL, OASIS, KTKP, Pubmed, J-STAGE, CNKI, and CINAHL. Results Ten articles were identified after searching. These studies were analyzed by year, diagnostic criteria, intervention, evaluation criteria, treatment points, treatment effect, treatment duration, and 'Risk of Bias' assessment. Conclusions According to the articles, acupuncture was effective in treating tic disorder. However, additional well-designed randomized controlled studies will be required to justify the effectiveness of acupuncture treatment on tic disorder.

Objectives: To report the clinical application and effects of Rg3 ginseng (ginseng radix) pharmacopuncture in patients with dry eye syndrome. Methods: Six patients who suffered from dry eye syndrome were treated with Rg3 ginseng pharmacopuncture for 4 weeks. The Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDI) was used twice, at the start and end of treatment, to analyze the results. Results: After treatment with Rg3 ginseng pharmacopuncture, OSDI scores were improved in all six patients. Conclusion: Rg3 ginseng pharmacopuncture is an effective treatment for patients with the symptoms of dry eye syndrome.

Objectives: The Purpose of this study was to evidence the effect of Herbal Bigiheo Acupuncture therapy by comparing waist-hip ratio, abdominal circumference and abdominal muscle circumference of Group B(group of Herbal acupuncture therapy and general obesity treatment) with Group A(group of non-Herbal acupuncture therapy and general obesity treatment) in forty two patients who have received OPD treatment at Sang Ji oriental medical hospital and chiefly diagnosed obesity from October 2003 to September 2004. Methods: We checked the change of Obesity degree with Inbody 3.0. Results and Conclusions: Herbal acupuncture therapy group was significantly decreased in waist-hip ratio and abdominal circumference, and we have no difference of abdominal muscle circumference each groups. According to the above results, it is considered that Bigiheo Herbal Acupuncture therapy showed a significant decrease in Abdominal Obesity.

Purpose : The purpose of this study is to identify the difference of clinical effects of gyejibongnyeong-hwan and acupuncture therapy on primary dysmenorrhea. Methods : We studied with ten patients recruited from April, 2003 to Feburary, 2004. Women with organic disease as uterine myoma, ovarian cysts and pelvic inflammatory disease were excluded from this study. We treated them with gyejibongnyeong-hwan or gyejibongnyeong-hwan combined acupuncture therapy for 8weeks. The severity of dysmenorrhea was measured by VAS(Visual Analog Scale). Results : gyejibongnyeong-hwan significantly decreased the severity of dysmenorrhea. And Gyejibongnyeong-hwan combined Acupuncture therapy significantly decreased the severity of dysmenorrhea. The change of VAS of gyejibongnyeong-hwan group is significantly higher than gyejibongnyeong-hwan combined acupuncture. Both of Gyejibongnyeong-hwan and acupuncture did not show hepatic and renal virulence. Conclusion : This study shows that gyejibongnyeong-hwan has remarkable effects on dysmenorrhea patients. Obviously further researches concerning all these area still necessary.

Objectives : This study was designed to evaluate clinical effects of Hua-Tuo-Jia-Ji-Xue acupuncture treatment to neuropathic pain of patients with spinal cord injury. Methods : The clinical study was carried out 5 cases with spinal cord injury, who had been treated from December, 2008 to November, 2009 in the department of oriental rehabilitation medicine, Dong-Guk university oriental medical hospital. Results : After treating Hua-Tuo-Jia-Ji-Xue acupuncture, we find out that the VAS(Visual Analog Scale) score was significantly improved after treatment. Conclusions : These result suggest that Hua-Tuo-Jia-Ji-Xue acupuncture were effective to neuropathic pain of spinal cord injury patients.
