The aim of this study was to investigate the soil physical properties and the traction characteristics of paddy field before tillage by a computer simulation. Soil physical properties, such as soil moisture content, bulk density, soil hardness, and soil texture were measured in the twelve rice production area. Mathematical model based on dimensional analysis which include soil physical properties and vehicle factors was used for the computer simulation. Most of the soil texture of the investigated area was silty loam, loam and silty clay loam. Soil moisture content ranged between 20 and 40% mostly. Soil bulk density was in the range of 1,500 to $1,700kg\;m^{-3}$. Soil hardness ranged between 2 to $12kg\;cm^{-2}$ mostly. Soil hardness incorporates the effects of many soil physical properties such as moisture content, texture and bulk density, and so the range of soil hardness was greater than that of any other physical properties. The predicted net traction was in the range of 70 to 1,500 kgf depending on the area, but it was above 1,000 kgf for most of the investigated area. Thus it was concluded that 50 HP tractor can pull the four row moldboard plow considering the conventional tillage depth and width. But for the soft soil area such as Andong and Namyang, tractor itself may have mobility problem and show high slip during plowing operation.
This thesis examined the effects of social demographical variables, multiple intelligences, and creative home environment on the child leadership. Study samples are 5 years old children at the kindergartens located in Seoul and metropolitan areas as well as their parents and (homeroom) teachers. 173 copies were analyzed. Results of this study are as follows: First, in terms of difference of multiple intelligences, creative home environment and child leadership depending on social demographical background, The second child showed significantly different interpersonal intelligence among other multiple intelligences from the first child with regard to the birth order. In terms of mother's education level and creative home environment, mothers with education more than universities showed big difference in family pressure. In terms of effects of total income, the children from families with total income over 4 million won showed significant difference in logical, mathematical, naturalist intelligence. and language intelligence. In terms of creative home environment, significant difference was found with regard to learning environment and child respect. Second, multiple intelligences, creative home environment, and child leadership showed correlated strongly. Third, total income in social demographic variables, language intelligence in multiple intelligences, and family pressure in creative home environment were found to have effects on it. Total income in social and demographical variables and family pressure in creative home environment were found to have effects on it. Interpersonal relation intelligence in multiple intelligences and learning environment in creative home environment were found to have effects on it. Total leadership had effects on family pressure only in creative home environment.

The new paradigm of the 21st Century science education explores a wide range of possibilities that can foster students' interest toward science and creative convergence thinking. In this study, through the analysis of programs that were developed in 'STEAM leader school' and 'STEAM teacher association for research' supported by the 'Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology,' we analyzed the linking frequency with each of STEAM education's fields and teachers' perception for the convergence strategy of technology and engineering. The results of this study show that linking frequency of technology and engineering is lower than the field of arts and mathematics in elementary school, but higher in middle and high school. 'Introduction technology contents in lives' in technology and 'crafts activity' in engineering are the most used teaching and learning strategy in STEAM education. But, although 'crafts activity' is engineering's major way of learning, many teachers understand and use it as a technological teaching learning strategy. It is important to understand that each of STEAM education's field has a unique nature and educational implications, for the effective settlement of STEAM education, we need to consider teaching and learning strategy in various way.

Experiments and simulation were done to study the impact of contrast agent when CT scan was used to attenuation correction for PET Images in PET/CT system. Whole body phantom was imaged with various concentration of iodine-based contrast agent using CT. Mathematical emission and transmission density map with liver were made to simulate for whole body FDG Imaging. A variety of factors were estimated, including non-uniform enhancement of contrast agent, concentration and distribution size of contrast agent, noise level, image resolution, reconstruction algorithm, hypo-attenuation of contrast agent, and different time phases for contrast agent. Experimental studies showed that Hounsfield unit depends on the concentration of contrast agent and tube voltage. From the simulation data, contrast agents Introduced artifacts and degraded image quality on the attenuation-corrected PET images. The severity of these effects depends on a variety of factors, including the concentration and distribution size of contrast agent, the noise levels, and the Image resolution. These results Indicated that the impact of contrast agents should be considered with a full understanding of their potential problems in clinical PET/CT images.
The purpose of this study came to start to be helpful in that the teachers in field produced evaluation subject about the mathematics and applied by analyzing the performance capacity for the students about the subject developed through the application of subject about the teaching-learning model that can utilize the learners' learning experience and the development of items that can evaluate it by utilizing various and concrete operational materials as an object of the first year at the middle schools. The concrete purpose of realizing it is as follows. 1. This study is to develop the teaching-learning model centered on activities adequate to utilize various and concrete operational materials. 2. This study is to develop evaluation data for utilizing the concrete operational materials by making construction through the application of developed teaching-learning model as possible. 3. This study is to present standards initiative for reliable and fair marking about the evaluation data and to analyze the students' practice capacity by using it effectively. For accomplishing the purpose of this research, this study is the work-oriented teaching and learning model using learning data that can be easily found around the surroundings and 8 evaluation programs in order that the experience-oriented learning based on circumstances learning among the learning models of constructivism. Also, it is to examine the result after applying that on a basis of 25 students, consisted of only on class in a year, in the first year at the small size of agricultural middle schools. The result of this study from this research is as follows. First, as a result of frequency survey, of response about the developed evaluation data it showed positive response more than 80% of all the items. The atmosphere of self-directed learning was produced because the developed evaluation data could induce activity-based learning naturally by stimulating the students' curiosity and promoting interest. Second, this study executed t-test for the result of questionnaire about the mathematics propensity, and there were significant differences in 19 items among 25 items. It presented that the application of data about the teaching-learning and evaluation directly using concrete operational materials to the constructional learning by level might have desirable affect on the students' mathematical propensity. It came to be a motive that could increase value recognition and interest on the subject of mathematics by investigating a mathematical principle rule and confirming it through activity learning using the concrete operational materials.
In this study, we presented two geometric tasks to three 11th grade students to identify the characteristics of the images that the students had at the beginning of problem-solving in the problem situations and investigated how their images changed during problem-solving and effected their problem-solving behaviors. In the first task, student A had a static image (type 1) at the beginning of his problem-solving process, but later developed into a dynamic image of type 3 and recognized the invariant relationship between the quantities in the problem situation. Student B and student C were observed as type 3 students throughout their problem-solving process. No differences were found in student B's and student C's images of the problem context in the first task, but apparent differences appeared in the second task. In the second task, both student B and student C demonstrated a dynamic image of the problem context. However, student B did not recognize the invariant relationship between the related quantities. In contrast, student C constructed a robust quantitative structure, which seemed to support him to perceive the invariant relationship. The results of this study also show that the success of solving the task 1 was determined by whether the students had reached the level of theoretical generalization with a dynamic image of the related quantities in the problem situation. In the case of task 2, the level of covariational reasoning with the two varying quantities in the problem situation was brought forth differences between the two students.
The modern society as a high-level information-oriented society lays a great emphasis on lifelong education. It emphasizes all the learners' creative learning ability and various teaching-learning methods as well. We need the self-directed learning to meet these requirements, and one of the solutions is the self-directed teaching-learning process employing the web. Though many educators, so far, developed a number of teaching materials, they are no more than web-based teaching materials for simple learning activities or simple item-bank systems. So, this paper suggests an problem-solving based and self-directed learning system on web in order to overcome such simplicities, and it shows design and implementation of the system. Suggested learning system enables learners to get thinking skill though self-directed control of learning level after they learn the basic concepts and principles on the web as self-directed learning. For example, the system was applied to mathematics education for a middle school students. It supports a test of questions chosen from the item bank in a self-directed way, and helps learners to understand their learning levels for themselves and to solve their questions through on-line discussions with their instructor. The system can also be helpful in improving the learners' learning effects by sharing mutual information through the data room or the Q&A between learners and learners or between learners and instructors.
Today, consumers can access Internet from everywhere, therefore most commercial and other organizations provide their services on the Web. As the result, countless Web service systems are already on the Internet and more systems are under construction. Therefore, many researches of verifying that the system to be constructed will not have any deadlock and will run successfully without any problem at the early stage of design have been performed. Several Petri net based verification methods have also been published. However, they have focused on building Petri net models of Web service systems and none of them introduces efficient analysis methods. As a mathematical technique with which we can find the minimum duration time needed to fire all the transitions at least once and coming back to the initial marking in a timed net, the minimum cycle time method has been widely used in computer system analysis. A timed net is a modified version of a Petri net where a transition is associated with a delay time. A delay time used in a timed net is a constant even though the duration time associated with an event in the real world is a stochastic number in general. Therefore, this paper proposes 'Mixedly Distributed Stochastic Timed Net' where a transition can be associated with a stochastic number and introduce a minimum cycle time analysis method for 'Mixedly Distributed Stochastic Timed Net'. We also introduce a method of analysing a Web service system's response time with the minimum cycle time analysis method for 'Mixedly Distributed Stochastic Timed Net.'.
To handle container effectively is one of the most important factors in a port because working time is linked soon into cost. Since the middle of 1990s, RMGC(Rail-Mounted Gantry Crane) and RTGC(Rubber-Tired Gantry Crane) have been developed and widely used to operate containers in the yard. The RTGC is more difficult than RMGC in the automatic control system design. Although, the RTGC is largely advantaged to free driving environment, it has some considerable disadvantages in the system operating. In general, the problems are due to tire slip and lack of tire pressure etc. Therefore, a desirable research result has not been shown in this time. So, in this paper, we propose a new approach to design tracking control system for the RTGC in which the mathematical modeling is included. From the simulation results, the control performance of the designed control systems is evaluated.
This study develops a control algorithm on berthing/unberthing system using a joystick for ships with thrusters and a rudder. A nonlinear mathematical model for low speed maneuvering of typical container ships is used to develop a MIMO(multi-input multi-output) nonlinear control algorithm for velocity feedback joystick control. Also a virtual HILS(hardware in the loop simulation) software program for berthing/unberthing is developed to test the performance of the nonlinear and a PID control algorithm. The program is developed using LabWindow/CVI, and a user can see current position and desired trajectory of ship in a monitor, then he can control forward and yaw velocities of a ship using a joystick. The simulation results show that the nonlinear mfd the PID controller have superior performance over a simple open loop joystick control algorithm.
