The purpose of this study is to compare in the U.S. and Korea regarding adult children's quality of relationship and care provision for their elderly parents. The study sample consist of 320 adult children in the U.S. and 554 adult children in Korea with at least one parent living. The U.S. study sample is drawn from the State of California, and the Korean sample is drawn from Gyeongsangnamdo Province. The study result shows that the U.S adult children score higher than the Korean adult children in the quality of relationship measure for their elderly parents. And Korean adult children score higher than the U.S. adult children in the care provision measure for their elderly parents. It is found that the most significant factor influencing American adult children's care provision is caregiving attitude for elderly parents, while for Korean adult children, it is the quality of the relationship between adult children and elderly parents. This study results can serve as a foundation for understanding the U.S. and Korean differences regarding adult children's support for their elderly parents and for providing a solution to caregiving issues for elderly parents.

최근 성인정보서비스의 유해성 문제로 검찰이 한국통신, 데이콤, 한국PC통신, 나우콤 등 PC통신업체들을 조사하고 구속영장을 청구함에 따라 성인정보서비스가 전격 중단된 사건이 있었다. 이에 PC통신 관계자들과 이용자들은 크게 반발하고 있으며 이번 사건으로 국내 IP산업은 적지 않은 타격을 받을 것으로 예상되고 있다. 이번 성인정보서비스 유해성 논란의 발단, 법적근거, 대책에 대해 살펴봤다.

정부에서는 선진국의 기술경쟁력과 중국의 가격경쟁력 사이에서 어려움을 겪고 있는 국내 부품 제조업체들의 경쟁력을 향상시키기 위하여 부품의 신뢰성을 제고하기 위한 신뢰성인증 사업을 시작하였다. 본 논문에서는 이와 같은 정부의 신뢰성인증 사업의 일환으로 산업기술시험원에서 시범사업으로 진행되고 있는 계전기(relay)에 대한 신뢰성인증 체계를 제시하였다.

To meet the needs of societies that have been suggesting that practical competency is the key factor in the economies and societies of the 21st century, OECD developed the Program for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC). The purpose of this study is to critically review the contents of adult competency in PIAAC upon the premise that the validity of the contents of adult competency must be assessed before setting up any national strategies to develop adult competency. First, this study points out that the contents of adult competency in PIAAC seem insufficient to objectively measure cognitive and practical competency of adults. Second, the contents of adult competency in PIAAC assess only observable and measurable individual knowledge and functions, despite the fact that adult competency must be viewed as collective competency where various aspects of proficiencies are closely interconnected. Third, the contents of adult competency in PIAAC do not take the nature of humans into consideration: it assesses human beings based only on observable human behaviors. In conclusion, this study maintains that we need to discuss the adult competency that matches well with the societal and industrial needs of Korea and to critically review the validity of any measures assessing adult competency.

올해 7월 29일부터 성인인증담배자판기 설치를 의무화하는 국민건강증진법이 본격 시행되게 됨에 따라 담배자판기 산업이 시장 활성화의 전기를 맞고 있다. 합법적인 설치환경이 본격 마련되는 만큼 시장에 대한 기대도 크고, 관련업체의 시장선점을 위한 경쟁 역시 뜨거워지고 있다. 이러한 가운데 본 협회에서는 성인인증담배자판기 품목에 대한 KOVA품질인증 마크 제도를 본격 도입한다. 이 마크의 도입은 앞으로 활발하게 필드에 설치될 성인인증담배자판기 품목이 확실한 청소년 금연장치를 갖춘 제품이라는 것을 적극 홍보하고, 소비자들이 안심하고 사용할 수 있는 신뢰성 부여를 위해 실시가 되게 된다. 4월말부터 본격 부착되게 되는 성인인증담배자판기 KOVA 품질인증마크 제도에 대해 자세히 알아보는 시간을 마련했다.

The purpose of this study was to explore the impact of lifelong educators' core competencies as a mediating effect on adult learners' ability to function. The subject of this study was aimed at adult learners participating in lifelong education programs at lifelong educational institutions located in Gyeonggi Province. and was finally used for a total of 520 additional analyses. The main findings of this study are as follows: first, regarding the correlation between the core competence of lifelong educators and the life ability of adult learners, core competence has a static association with wisdom. In addition, wisdom has a high static association with life expectancy. Second, the core competence and wisdom of lifelong educators were found to have a significant static impact on adult learners' life abilities, accounting for 66.8%. Specifically, the most significant predictors of life's ability were creative problem solving, consideration for others, and acceptance of change, which were lower factors of wisdom. Third, the impact of a lifetime educator's core competence on adult learners is not significant. It was found that core competence has an indirect influence on life capacity through the mediating effect of wisdom, and that wisdom has directly interfaced the relationship between core competence and life ability. Taken together, these results proved that the core competence and wisdom of a lifelong educator are important variables for adult learner's life abilities. Based on this, the core competence of lifelong educators being taught in the field of lifelong education should be enhanced, and the ability of adult learners to utilize the wisdom that has been developed through the experiences of adult learners, to improve their life skills.

This study is intended to develop a numeracy program for late-adult learners. For this study, firstly, characteristics of numeracy were analyzed and based on those characteristics, numeracy learning contents for late-adult learners were selected. Also, teaching and learning materials were developed by linking the mathematics contents selected to experience-based real lives of late-adult learners. When this numeracy program was applied to late-adult learners, it was observed that there was a change in the affective domain like interest at the early stage of learning and that as learning continued, mathematical elaboration occurred by way of mathematical formalization. In conclusion, this study has significance by re-defining arithmetic for late-adults from a perspective of numeracy, based on experience of late-adults, and making a contribution to mathematical elaboration of late-adult learners so non-formal problem-solving processes of lat-adult learners can be justified as elaborate mathematical problem-solving.

지구자기장의 성인에 대하여 고찰하고 기존 학설에 대한 신 모델을 제안하였다. 지자기 성인의 가장 유력한 이론적 모델은 열전류와 열화학적 전류에 의한 자기장 형성이다. 하지만, 이 모델은 매우 한정적 조건을 바탕으로 설명하고 있으며, 동시에 지자기의 분산과 세기의 상쇄 요인을 내포하고 있기 때문에 설득력이 저하된다. 그러나 본 제안의 가설에서 주장하는 이온층 전류에 의한 지자기의 성인은 그와 같은 분산 요인이 있을 수 없으며, 그 결과로 나타나는 지자기의 새기와 방향도 일정하게 형성됨이 해석 가능하기 때문에 타당성과 설득력이 높은 완벽한 이론이다. 따라서 이온층 전류에 의한 보다 안정적인 지자기성인의 전자기학적 신 모델을 제안한다.
