This study conducted a 15-week experiment on 236 students who took a major in engineering to find out the impact of learning through flipped learning on their academic performance. Previous flipped learning studies have largely been tested on learning motivation or learning satisfaction through questionnaires, and few have compared academic performance differences. Therefore, it is necessary to identify the increase and decrease in academic performance in the flipped learning classroom. Studies have shown significant differences that is a big difference between the academic performance of the experimental group appling flipped learning and the control group appling traditional lecture-style classes, and the academic performance of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group. This can be said to have a positive effect on academic performance. Therefore, it is hoped that the flip learning method will be expanded in all curriculums.

There are two methods in evaluation student s achievement. The two evaluation methods are absolute evaluation and relative evaluation. They have much advantages respectively, but also have some limitations such as being too stereotyped or causing overcompetition among learners. This paper suggests a new evaluation method which evaluates student s achievements by considering the score distribution and the frequency The proposed method classifies the scores into several clusters considering the goodness. This approach calculates the goodness by applying the RE(relaxation error), and grades the achievement scores based on the goodness. The suggested method can avoid the problem of grading caused by the narrow gap of scores because it sets a standard for grading by the calculated goodness considering the score distribution and frequency of occurrence. The method can differentiate achievements of a school from those of others, and that it is useful for selecting advanced students and dull ones, and for evaluation of classes based on student s achievement.

Female students and regular admission achieved more than male students and occasional admission, respectively. Korea scholastic aptitude test had more effects on academic achievement for male students and regular admission type NA but academic achievement in high school life had more effects for female students and regular admission type DA.

Several studies regarding the effects of academic achievement on mental health problems have been conducted in adolescents but not in elementary school students. Therefore, the aim of the current study was to examine the effects of school achievement on depression in Korean elementary school students. The participants were 1,048, 5th to 6th elementary students in Seoul, Korea. The Spearman correlations between school achievement and depression were -0.31 for boys and -0.37 for girls (p<0.001 for both). After controlling for grader, the family economic status and self-esteem, higher achiever group showed a significantly low risk for depression in boys and girls. This study suggests that the lower school achievement is associated with a depressive mood in Korean elementary students. Therefore, students with lower academic performance are a risk group for depression.

This study was based on theories of the culture of poverty and the causes and consequences of poverty. The strong relationship of family income to mother's education presents the possibility of an intergenerational education cycle. Using a longitudinal approach, parental poverty status was measured by family income, welfare assistance, single parent, and occupation when children were 2 years of age; children's school performance was measured by teacher reports of their reading, mathematics, writing, and overall ability at grade 1. Data were analyzed by structure equation modeling. Results showed that mother's pre-childbearing level of education predicted child school performance in grade 1, confirming an intergenerational cycle. In addition, the results indicated that parental poverty acts as a mediator between the cycle.
This study is a descriptive survey on the studying science subjects before entrance to nursing department, the scores of basic nursing sciences and the academic adjustment. The data were analyzed using SPSS 19.0. There was a significant difference between studying certain science subjects before entrance and the scores of basic nursing sciences, studying Biology I, Chemistry I, Physics I and Earth science I increased mean score of basic nursing sciences(p<.05), there were positive correlations among them. And there was no correlation between studying science subjects before entrance and academic adjustment except Physics I, but, there was a positive correlation between score of basic nursing sciences and academic adjustment(r=0.296, p<.001). Also, studying science subjects before entrance affected partially to the scores of basic nursing sciences, and the scores of basic nursing sciences affected academic adjustment(p=.001). This result can be used in pre-school program for the freshmen after repeated study.
