  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of difficult endotracheal intubation education in the 119 rescue services. The subjects in this study were 60 members of the 119 rescue services that was under the umbrella of the Fire Service Headquarters of J province. A SPSS 14.0 program was utilized to find out the effect of tough tracheal intubation education on their relevant knowledge, self-confidence, academic self-efficacy and technical Performance in consideration of general characteristics. The findings of the study were as follows: 1. They showed a significant improvement in all the knowledge, self-confidence, academic self-efficacy and technical Performance after they received that education. 2. As for connections between general characteristics and knowledge before and after that education, there were significant differences in their knowledge according to gender and career of working in the hospital, and their rank and career of working in the hospital made a significant differences to their self-confidence. Their academic self-efficacy significantly differed with rank, career of working in the hospital and academic credential. There were significant gaps among them technical Performance Case 1 according to career of working in the 119 rescue services, and technical Performance Case 2 significantly varied with age and academic credential. There were significant gaps in technical Performance Case 3 according to career of working in the 119 rescue services and career of working in the hospital after that education was provided, and technical Performance Case 4 significantly varied with age and rank before and after the education was conducted. In conclusion, the kind of education programs that aim at stirring up the interest of the 119 rescue services in advanced airway and helping the members learn about tracheal intubation accurately with confidence is urgently required.

Methods: The program was conducted 13 sessions (2 hours/session) and evaluated for perceived ethical confidence, critical thinking disposition, moral sensitivity, and academic self-efficacy. The collected data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and paired t-test using the SAS 9.4 program. Results: The blended learning based bioethic program was found to be effective for perceived ethical confidence (t=8.70, p<.001), critical thinking disposition(t=8.96, p<.001), moral sensitivity (t=6.43, p<.001), academic self-efficacy (t=20.5, p<.001), and program satisfaction(t=4.92, p<.001). Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that a blended learning program including TBL has advantages of case-based discussion and active interaction for nursing students' bioethics education.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing confidence in performing core basic nursing skills(CBNS) for low-grade nursing students. The data were collected from 213 nursing students from one nursing college located in G do from November 25 to December 4, 2020. Data were analyed by frequencies, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, multiple regression using SPSS 21.0. Differences in confidence in performing CBNS according to general characteristics were university life satisfaction, practical satisfaction, academic achievement, and interpersonal relationship. Confidence in performing CBNS was significant positive correlation with self-efficacy, major satisfaction, and learning attitude. The factors influencing confidence in performing CBNS were self-efficacy and learning attitude, and explanatory power was 32.5%. Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to develop learning strategies and educational programs and verify the effectiveness of lower class nursing students to increse their confidence in performing CBNS.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate whether there were difference between gender of engineering students in terms of academic achievement, self-efficacy and engineering self-efficacy. A total of 387 engineering students (male=284, female=103) completed the self-efficacy and engineering self-efficacy test. And students self-reported their grade point average(GPA) in their former semester. The results of t-test with gender about academic achievement indicated that there were not differences in academic achievement between gender. The results of MANOVA with grades indicated that there were differences in self-efficacy and engineering self-efficacy between gender. Male students scored significantly higher than female students in self-efficacy, and engineering self-efficacy.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship among self-efficacy, motivation proposed by self-determination theory and academic achievement and to confirm the relative predictive power of motivation variables in predicting 480 middle/high students' achievement. The instruments used in this study were 'Self-efficacy' and 'Self - regulation' scale. The data were analyzed with Pearson correlations and multiple regression (stepwised) analysis. The correlations among self-efficacy, self-determination motivation and academic achievement were significant. The variables among self-determination were correlated to academic achievement in middle school. Among the variables of self-determination motivation, identified regulation, Integrated regulation and intrinsic regulation were positively related to academic achievement in high school but amotivation was negatively related to academic achievement. Self-control efficacy and self-confidence were the significance predictor of academic achievement in middle school. Hard-task preference and self-control efficacy were the significance predictor of academic achievement in high school students. Introjected-regulation was the best predictor of academic achievement in middle school. Identified-regulation was the best predictor of academic achievement in high school.

  • The purpose of this study were to devise prerequisite learning reminding model to elementary mathematics classes and actually apply it to fifth graders in experimental lessons, thus investigating their effects on mathematics academic achievement and self-efficacy. the study conducted a pre and post test to measure academic achievement and self-efficacy on the experiment and control group. the finding were as follows. First, the study found significant differences in mathematics academic achievement between the experiment and control group. mathematics lessons based on the prerequisite learning reminding model resulted in no significant differences among the upper and lower level groups. Secondly, the study analyzed the effects of prerequisite learning reminding model on the self-efficacy and found significant differences in self-efficacy between the experiment and control group. While there were no differences in self-confidence and preference for task difficulty among the subarea of self-efficacy, it had positive differences effect on self-regulation efficacy.

  • In this study, the experiment was carried out on an experiment group of 24 and a control group of 25 in order to investigate the effect of flipped learning on the motivation and academic achievement of elementary students. Research tools such as flipped learning program, motivation questionnaire and academic achievement questionnaire were used. Study procedures consisted of pre-test, experimental process, and post-test in order and the data processing was performed by independent sample t-test and paired sample t-test. The results show that flipped learning has a positive effect on learning motivation and academic achievement. For instance, flipped learning influenced on improvement of motivation elements such as attention and confidence. Also flipped learning has a more effect on low-level students than high-level students in academic achievement.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of critical thinking disposition and communication competence on the problem-solving confidence satisfaction of nursing students. The data was collected using questionnaires completed by 215 nursing students in G city from November 1 to November 30, 2019. Data was analyzed using SPSS version 22.0. The data analysis showed that the mean score for critical thinking disposition was 3.69±0.37, communication competence 3.72±0.46, and problem-solving confidence 3.56±0.41. There was a significant positive correlation between critical thinking disposition and communication competence (r=.588, p<.001). critical thinking disposition and problem-solving confidence (r=.462, p<.001), communication competence, and problem-solving confidence (r=.255, p<.001). As per the regression analysis, the factors that affect problem-solving confidence were academic achievement, critical thinking disposition, the motive for selecting nursing science, and gender with an explanatory power of about 33.8%. Conclusions: This study showed that problem-solving confidence correlated with critical thinking disposition and communication competence. Therefore, to increase the critical thinking disposition and communication competence and thus enhance the problem-solving confidence of nursing students, it is necessary to develop and apply appropriate teaching methods and non-contact education programs.
