Linkage of Numerical Analysis Model and Machine Learning for Real-time Flood Risk Prediction (도시홍수 위험도 실시간 표출을 위한 수치해석 모형과 기계학습의 연계)

  • 도시화가 상당히 이뤄지고 기습적인 폭우의 발생이 불확실하게 나타나는 시점에서 재산 및 인명피해를 야기할 수 있는 내수침수에 대한 위험도가 증가하고 있다. 내수침수에 대한 예측을 위하여 실측강우 또는 확률강우량 시나리오를 참조하고 연구대상 지역에 대한 1차원 그리고 2차원 수리학적 해석을 실시하는 연구가 오랫동안 진행되어 왔으나, 수치해석 모형의 경우 다양한 수문-지형학적 자료 및 계측 자료를 요구하고 집약적인 계산과정을 통한 단기간 예측에 어려움이 있음이 언급되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 위와 같은 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 단일 도시 배수분구를 대상으로 관측 강우 자료, 1, 2차원 수치해석 모형, 기계학습 및 딥러닝 기법을 적용한 실시간 홍수위험지도 예측 모형을 개발하였다. 강우자료에 대하여 실시간으로 홍수량을 예측할 수 있도록 LSTM(Long-Short Term Memory) 기법을 적용하였으며, 전국단위 강우에 대한 다양한 1차원 도시유출해석 결과를 학습시킴으로써 예측을 수행하였다. 침수심의 공간적 분포의 경우 로지스틱 회귀를 이용하여, 기준 침수심에 대한 예측을 각각 수행하였다. 홍수위험 등급의 경우 침수심, 유속 그리고 잔해인자를 고려한 홍수위험등급 공식을 적용하여 산정하였으며, 이 결과를 랜덤포레스트(Random Forest)에 학습함으로써 실시간 예측을 수행할 수 있도록 개발하였다. 침수범위 및 홍수위험등급에 대한 예측은 격자 단위로 이뤄졌으며, 검증 자료의 부족으로 침수 흔적도를 통하여 검증된 2차원 침수해석 결과와 비교함으로써 예측력을 평가하였다. 본 기법은 특정 관측강우 또는 예측강우 자료가 입력되었을 때에, 도시 유역 단위로 접근이 불가하여 통제해야 할 구간을 실시간으로 예측하여 관리할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • Project-based learning is an effective teaching method for improvement of academic achievement and problem-solving ability so that is often applied to programming education. However, a strategy of enhancing motivation is required by a course design considering a learning style of students for advantage of PBL to take effect. Yet, studies on considerations with learning style still lack, when designing project-based programming learning courses for improvement of learning motivation. This research aims to address issues for consideration in designing PBL programming course. Accordingly, we analyzed learning motivation's difference between learning style in PBL programming class. We designed PBL programming course focusing ARCS model, where students making simulation The Kolb Learning Style Inventory is used to determine learning preferences. To assess students' motivation, Keller's Course Interest Survey was used in a pre-post-test-design. The result indicates that pre-post students' motivation differed. Also, we found considerations through comparing difference of ARCS model's detailed elements between learning styles.

The Effects of Hypermedia Structure and Cognitive Style on Learning Performance in Elementary Schools (하이퍼미디어 학습 프로그램 구조와 학습자 인식양식이 초등학생 학업성취에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship among the hypermedia structure(hierarchical and network), learner's cognitive style(field-independent and field-dependent), and learning performance in the elementary school. 128 students(4th graders) having field-independent and field-dependent cognitive style were randomly allocated into hierarchical and network structures of hypermedia learning program. There was not significant interaction between hypermedia structure and cognitive style in learning performance. The students in the hierarchical hypermedia structure showed higher learning performance than ones in the network hypermedia structure. Field-independent students significantly got higher results than field-dependent ones. It is concluded that instructional designers should consider hypermedia structure, learner's cognitive style, and learning outcomes when they plan and design hypermedia learning program.

Factors Affecting the Confidence of Nursing Students in the On-line-Based Education by COVID-19 (COVID-19로 인한 온라인 중심 교육에서 간호대학생의 핵심 기본 간호술 수행 자신감에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • This study aims to provide basic data for the development of teaching methods to improve the performance confidence of performing core basic nursing skills in nursing students while availing of online education owing to COVID-19. Data were collected from 146 students in the Department of Nursing at N University located in C city. The collected data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, difference, correlation analysis, and multiple regression by using SPSS 23.0 program.. The subjects' performance confidence of core basic nursing skills was dependent on self-directed learning readiness (r=.368, p<.001), intrinsic goal motivation (r=.232, p=.005), extrinsic goal motivation (r=.344, p<.001), task value (r=.237, p=<.001), control of learning beliefs (r=.262, p=<.001), and self-efficacy for learning and performance (r=.443), p<.001) with a significant positive correlation. The results indicate that the factors influencing the subjects' performance confidence of core basic nursing skills were the 4th grade (β=0.413, p<.001), extrinsic goal motivation (β=0.307, p<.001), and self-efficacy for learning and performance (β=0.316, p=.005), and the explanatory power was 35.8% (F=8.354, p<.001). The research results showed that it is necessary to develop and apply various online-centered teaching and learning methods to increase the extrinsic goal motivation and self-efficacy for learning and performance of nursing students to enhance their performance confidence of core basic nursing skills. This will serve as a basis for preparing effective online centered nursing education strategies to improve performance confidence of core basic nursing skills.

Science Education Based on Constructivist Perspectives (구성주의 특성에 따른 과학교육)

  • Constructivism has had a great influence on science education over the last two decades. The purpose of this article is twofold: First, to describe the characteristics of constructivism and, second, to suggest an ideal forms of science education in Korea as implied in constructivism. A review of the literature in the first area shows that constructivism is the philosophical/ psychological view which believes in the social nature of the construction of scientific knowledge and its learning. And the analyses of a few schools of constructivism suggests decision-making as a goal of science education, loaming as the active construction of meaning through interaction between learner and learning environments, and discussion and cooperation as appropriate teaching strategies. At the same time, the results necessitate teaching ethical aspects of science in the secondary schools, and also imply that performance assessment must be emphasized in evaluation of science education.

  • A project learning is the model to solve the problem in cooperation with the members of a group. The purpose of this study is to make a new learning model using a web on the traditional project learning model. A Web has the proper nature for students to make their learning environment, so that this study embodied Student Directed Web based project learning system to allow them to expand their abilities. All action of students, that is, suggesting main subject, making plans, activating and adjusting them, and evaluation can be happened in this system. According to the result of applying the system, participants in Students Directed Web based Project Learning intend to implement learning activities more positively, affirmatively and cooperatively than the existing ones.

  • 본 논문에서는 반복학습으로 음소모델을 강건하게 하여 음소기반 핵심어 검출 시스템의 성능을 개선하고자 하였다. 가변어휘 핵심어 검출 시스템은 인식 대상 핵심어의 추가와 변경이 용이하도록 모노폰 단위로 핵심어 모델과 필러 모델을 구성하였다. 핵심어 모델과 필러 모델은 동일한 음소모델을 이용하므로 각각의 음소 모델의 분별력 향상은 핵심어 검출 성능과 밀접한 관계에 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 음소 HMM(Hidden Markov Model)의 학습시에 반복 학습을 통하여 음소 모델을 강건하게 만든 후 핵심어 검출 실험을 수행하였다. 그 결과, 10회의 반복학습을 통하여 얻어진 음소 HMM을 이용한 핵심어 검출의 성능은 반복학습을 하지 않은 경우보다 핵심어 검출의 CA-CR 평균 성능이 $4\%$ 향상됨을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • 이 논문은 2011 TORSC 자동차 경주에 대한 인공지능적 접근방법을 나타내었다. 사람이 자동차 경주를 준비 할 때에는 여러 종류의 경기장, 트랙, 조건에서 연습하고 여기서 익힌 경험과 지식을 통해 실제 새로운 경기장에서 경주를 하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 학습과 적용의 단계를 두 단계의 학습으로 수행하였다. 특히 경주 조건인 트랙에 대한 경기 연습 즉, 기계 학습을 위해 트랙을 간단한 수치 자료로 구조화하고, 실시간 트랙 정보 구축으로 트랙의 형태를 파악하여 주행하는 방법을 제시하였다. 또한, 각 센서를 각 상황에 맞도록 구조화하여 고수준 센서화하는 방법으로 트랙 정보를 기록하였으며, 직관적인 효과 조정과 파악을 위해 휴리스틱을 적용하였다. 이러한 연구는 경쟁력 있는 스마트 자동차에 필요한 소프트웨어 모듈에 의미있는 한 부분이 될 수 있다.

Language performance analysis based on multi-dimensional verbal short-term memories in patients with conduction aphasia (다차원 구어 단기기억에 따른 전도 실어증 환자의 언어수행력 분석)

  • Multi-dimensional verbal short-term memory mechanisms are largely divided into the phonological channel and the lexical-semantic channel. The former is called phonological short-term memory and the latter is called semantic short-term memory. Phonological short-term memory is further segmented into the phonological input buffer and the phonological output buffer. In this study, the language performance of each of three patients with similar levels of conduction aphasia was analyzed in terms of multi-dimensional verbal short-term memory. To this end, three patients with conduction aphasia were instructed to perform four different aspects of language tasks that are spontaneous speaking, repetition, spontaneous writing, and dictation in both word and sentence level. Moreover, the patients' phonological memories and semantic short-term memories were evaluated using digit span tests and verbal learning tests. As a result, the three subjects exhibited various types of performances and error responses in the four aspects of language tests, and the short-term memory tests also did not produce identical results. The language performance of three patients with conduction aphasia can be explained according to whether the defects occurred in the semantic short-term memory, phonological input buffer and/or phonological output buffer. In this study, the relations between language and multi-dimensional verbal short-term memory were discussed based on the results of language tests and short-term memory tests in patients with conduction aphasia.
