수학 학습 부진아의 개별화 교수 방법 (A Study on the Individualized Teaching method for Underachievers in Mathematics)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine meaning, factors, and diagnostic method of underachievers in mathematics and to propose the idea of the individualized teaching method for underachievers. For the first purpose, previous literatures on underachievers are reviewed. For the second purpose, this study described the procedure of developing the individualized instructional program, and the method of diagnosing and prescribing errors in mathematics. In the future, individualized instructional program need to be developed based on correct diagnosis of factors effecting under achievement for the effective teaching of underachievers.

학습만화 독서지도 및 효과에 대한 실행연구 (An Action Research of Reading Instruction on Edutainment Comics and Its Effects)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 초등학생들이 선호하는 학습만화에 대한 독서지도의 필요성을 제기하고, 학습만화 독서지도 방안을 제시하는 데 있다. 이 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 초등학교 4학년 학생을 대상으로 2차에 걸쳐 총 8차시의 학습만화 독서지도프로그램을 개발하여 실행하였다. 프로그램 실행은 1차와 2차로 나누어 실시하였고, 1차 프로그램 실행 후 문제점을 보완하여 2차 프로그램을 설계 하여 실시하였다. 연구결과 독서부진아 및 학습부진아에 대한 교육 시 학습만화를 적절히 활용한다면 학습 집중력이 떨어져 있는 아동들의 독서의욕과 학습능력을 증진 시킬 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 초등학생들이 학습만화를 통해 갖게 된 관련 분야에 대한 관심과 흥미를 독서의욕과 학습능력을 높일 수 있는 동기로 활용할 수 있도록 적극적으로 학습만화 독서지도 방안을 개발할 필요가 있다.

외국어 어휘 학습에서 학습자 요인의 영향: 부적 정서와 작업기억 (The Influence of Learner Factors on Foreign Language Vocabulary Learning: Negative Emotion and Working Memory)

  • 한국 대학생들의 외국어 어휘 학습에 미치는 부적 정서(상태-특성 불안, 우울)와 작업기억의 영향을 조사하였다. 또한 이것이 외국어 어휘 학습 콘텐츠 개발에 함의하는 바가 무엇인지를 알아보았다. 이를 위하여 132명에게 상태-특성 불안, 우울, 그리고 네 종류의 작업기억 검사를 실시하였다. 또한 참가자들로 하여금-특정 외국어에 대한 개인 간의 차이를 최소화하고자-처음 보는 스와힐리어 단어를 학습하도록 하였다. 참가자들의 상태-특성 불안과 우울의 평균은 정상 수준이었다. 구조방정식모형에서 부적 정서에서 외국어 학습으로의 직접효과는 없었으며, 부적 정서에서 작업기억으로의 직접효과와 작업기억에서 외국어 학습으로의 직접효과는 유의미하였다. 이는 부적 정서에 의한 작업기억의 손상이 외국어 어휘 학습의 부진으로 이어질 수 있음을 의미하였다. 이를 바탕으로 대학생들을 위한 외국어 어휘 학습 콘텐츠를 개발할 때에, 학습자의 부적인 정서를 고려해야 할 필요성과 작업기억의 부담을 최소화해야 할 필요성을 제기하였다.

GSP를 활용한 삼각함수에서 학습부진아의 수학화 과정에 관한 사례연구 (A Case Study on Slow Learners' Mathematization of Trigonometric Functions, Using GSP)

  • This research was to help slow learners to be motivated and to make their outcome productive, using GSP based on the mathematization theory for learning mathematics, as a way of encouraging the learner-centered approach. With 2 of the second graders in a high school, who had not yet understood trigonometric functions in their first grade period, 7 units of lesson plans were designed for the research. The results showed that first, understanding real life contexts and analyzing properties by observation, and experiment using GSP, to build the concept of trigonometric functions could be a foothold on which learner's organization and outcome from a horizontal mathematization led to vertical mathematization. Despite the delay during the level-up-stage for a while, the learners could attain the vertical mathematization stage and moreover the applicative mathematization through effective use of GSP and the interaction between the learners or a teacher and the learners. Second, using GSP was a vertical tool of connecting horizontal mathematization with vertical mathematization in forming the concept of trigonometric functions and its meaning could be understood by their verbalizing and presenting the outcomes through their active performance. Using GSP is helpful for slow learners to overcome learning difficulties, based on the instructional materials designed by Realistic Mathematics Education.

이상 데이터를 활용한 성과부진학생의 조기예측성능 향상 (Improvement of early prediction performance of under-performing students using anomaly data)

  • 최근 학생 수 감소로 인한 대학 간 경쟁이 심화되면서 성과부진학생을 조기에 예측하고, 중도이탈을 예방하기 위해 다양한 노력을 기울이는 것은 대학의 필수 업무로 인식되고 있다. 이를 위해서는 학생의 성과를 정밀하게 예측하는 우수한 성능의 모델이 필수적이다. 본 논문은 성과부진학생을 식별하기 위한 분류 예측 모델에서 이상 데이터를 제거하거나 증폭을 통해 예측 성능을 향상시키는 방법에 대해 제안한다. 기존 이상데이터 처리방법은 주로 데이터를 삭제하거나 무시하는데 집중되었지만 이 논문에서는 잡음과 변화지표를 구분하는 기준을 제시하고, 데이터를 삭제하거나 증폭함으로써 예측 모델의 성능을 높이는데 기여한다. 제안 방법의 검증을 위해 공개된 학습 성과 데이터를 활용한 실험에서 기존 방법에 비해 제안방법이 분류 성능을 향상시킬 수 있는 다수의 사례를 발견할 수 있었다.

서술 및 면담 평가를 통한 수학학습부진아의 인지적.정의적 특성 분석 (Analyses on the Cognitive and Affective Characteristics of the Mathematically Underachievers by Descriptive tests and Interviews)

  • The purpose of this research was to make fair assessment methods which took into account characteristics of mathematically underachievers. The researchers devised an descriptive tests and interviews and applied them to the mathematics underachievers who could not reveal their achievements in the traditional assessment and then analyzed their cognitive and affective characteristics in the alternative assessments. After selecting three students by the normal assessment made of simple subjective and multiple choice questions, the cognitive and affective characteristics found in the general assessment were reflected to the descriptive tests and interviews. The descriptive tests and interviews are comprised of descriptive narrations and informal interview questions. After the assessment, the teacher and students gave feedbacks one another. All the assessment activities were recorded by a camcorder to analyze cognitive and affective characteristics of the children. Throughout the research, the following conclusions were made. The mathematics underachievers showed the characteristics which didn't appeared in the normal assessment. They showed normal abilities of problem solving and communication In the cognitive area. Also they brought in positive result in most parts in the affective area. However, the student B displayed considerable ability of mathematical thinking that is over the average level of mathematical underachievers. This implies that we can definite the mathematical underachievers differently when we use the detailed and relief assessment method instead of the traditional assessment. On the other hand, one student tended to depend on the teacher and another student overheard what the others talk during the study. This defect should be complemented by the further studies about assessment method for the mathematical underachievers. Also appropriate assessment methods should be made for applying to the various mathematical underachievers. Many studies have been concentrated on the learning for mathematical underachievers but there is little concern about the assessment for the mathematical underachievers. However it is the fundamental way to reduce the number of mathematics underachievers that we construct consistent learning methods and assessments for the mathematical underachievers.

실시간 화상 수업 환경에서 소프트웨어 실습 교육에 대한 초등학생 및 교사의 만족도 분석 (Analysis of Satisfaction of Elementary School Students and Teachers for Software Practice Education in Real-Time Video Classes)

  • 본 연구에서는 초등학생 5, 6학년을 대상으로 소프트웨어 실습 교육과정을 실시간 화상 수업으로 운영한 후 학습자 만족도와 교사 심층 인터뷰를 분석하였다. 학습자의 실재감, 수업전반, 상호작용, 실시간 화상 수업 만족도의 상관관계를 분석한 결과 실재감, 수업전반, 상호작용, 실시간 화상 수업 만족도는 다소 높은 정적인 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났고, 실시간 화상 수업 참여환경과 수업 만족도 사이에는 약간의 차이가 있었지만 모두 통계적으로는 유의하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 교사의 경우 학생들의 개인별 PC 환경 및 수업 교구에서 발생하는 문제, 모둠 활동에서 학생들간의 상호작용, 부진 학생에 대한 개별 피드백에 상대적으로 어려움을 느끼고 있었다. 이를 해결하기 위해 실시간 화상 수업 참여환경에 대한 사전 안내, 수업 교구의 사전 점검 안내문 및 예비부품 제공, 보조강사를 활용한 부진 학생 및 접속 오류 지원, LMS를 활용한 개별 과제 피드백 실시 등에 대한 의견을 제시하였다.

고등학교 수학 학습부진학생을 위한 프로그램 개발 및 적용 -ADDIE 모형 적용 사례- (Development and application of the program for students with under-achievement of math in high school - On the case of ADDIE model -)

  • This study analyzed each process of demand analysis(A), design(D), development(D), implementation(I) and evaluation(E) of the program to support mathematics learning of students with under-achievement of math in high school. To analyze the demand, a survey was conducted on 235 high school math teachers and 334 high school students who were under-achieved in mathematics. To design and develope the program, this study linked middle school math to high school math so that the students with poor math learning could easily participate in mathematics learning. The programs developed in this study were implemented in three high schools, where separate classes were organized and run for students with poor math learning. The evaluation of the programs developed in this study was done in two ways. One was a quantitative evaluation conducted by five experts, and the other was a qualitative evaluation conducted through interviews with teachers and students participating in the program. This study found that students with poor mathematics learning were more motivated to learn, started to do mathematics, and encouraged to be confident when using learning materials that included easy problems and detailed solutions that they could solve themselves. From these results, the following three implications can be derived in developing a program to support students who are experiencing poor mathematics learning in high school. First, we should develop learning materials that link middle school mathematics to high school mathematics so that students can supplement middle school mathematics related to high school mathematics. Second, we need to develop learning materials that include detailed solutions to basic examples and include homogeneous problems that can be solved while looking at the basic example's solution process. Third, we should avoid the challenge of asking students who are under-achieving to respond too openly.

학업수행 부진에 부모빈곤이 미치는 영향 및 자기주도적 학습능력의 매개효과 (Self-Regulated Study Performance as a Mediator of the Effects of Poverty on School Performance)

  • This study addressed ways in which parental poverty factors are associated with child school performance and how these relationships may be mediated by self-regulated study performance. Data of the Korea Education Longitudinal Survey (KELS : 2005) were used in this survey of 6,908 students in 150 schools. Parental poverty status, self-regulated study performance, and school performance achievement were administered when children were in 7th grade. Using structure equation modeling analysis, the results of this study confirmed that self-regulated study performance is a mediator of the linkage between poverty and school performance. Thus, children's positive self-regulated study performance acts to buffer the negative cycle of poverty.

  • The purpose of this research is to invent the method which improve the problem - solution power in mathematics, making learning materials for it and apply it to the inactive 1st grade high school students. The results of this reaserch are as follows. 1. Through this 4 phased team teaching, the atmosphere of learning is positive and learning activities are voluntary and the attitude to the mathematics is improved. 2. The harmony of team studying for a problem solution, problem understanding, flowchart drawing and mind map studying enabled students to have confidence of learning, leading to improve the ability of mathematics.
