  • With the development of internet and networking technology, on-line remote educations in many area are being experimented. As on-line remote educations become more common, many people make multimedia contents for educational purpose. We designed and implemented a lecture authoring tool which provide easy way to build educational multimedia contents. We implemented the authoring tool with Java JMF, which can be executed any computer hardware. The purpose of this paper is to share the experience of implementing authoring tool and the implementation result of the authoring tool using Java JMF.

Development and Application of Web-based Instruction Program for the Enriched Course of School Biology (중등 생물교과 심화과정 학습용 웹 기반 학습 프로그램 개발 및 적용)

  • A web-based instruction program for the enriched course under the 7th Revised National Curriculum of Biology in Korea was developed and the application effects to learners were analyzed. For the development of the web-based instruction program, five topics of biology from the enriched courses through 7th to 10th grades in the middle and high school science textbooks were selected and modulated with interrogative sentences. Each topic of programs was divided into four activity sections according to the learners' activity procedures supplemented with explanations and evaluations. Each activity was hyper-linked to multi-layers and animations. Further, a virtual experiment was also developed and an evaluation section designed by Java Script was attached. Among five topics, one topic of 'Reproduction and development' at 9th grade level was selected to examine the effects on students' learning. Among 247 9th grade students in the research subject school, only 67 students were able to accessible to ultra-thin Internet cables with their computers at home and they became an experimental group. A control group was assigned to those who are similar level of school science achievement to the experiment group and did not use the web-based program. It was found that most of 9th grade students are able to use Internet at home, however, they do not prefer to use Internet for homework or task project. Rather, most of students used Internet for e-mail or information navigation. Students used internet to solve problems of science and perceived the benefits of Internet for science learning. However, there are not many students to utilize Internet for science homework or task project. Students expressed that they do not prefer to use a web-based learning program for science learning due to lack of interests in science. The effects on students who studied with this program appeared to be significantly high compared to those who did not study with this program. Students who studied with this program positively evaluated this program, in particular, they enjoyed animation effect and virtual experiments. It was concluded that a web-based program for science learning should be developed and distributed through Internet in an attractive and interesting format for students. It was also concluded that various web-based programs for science learning with animation effect and virtual experiments should be developed to increase students' interests in science as well as to improve students' science achievements.

A Study on the Usability Evaluation and Improvement of Voice Tag Reader for an Visually Impaired Person (시각장애인 대상 음성태그리더기의 사용성 평가 및 개선 방안 연구)

  • This study was conducted for the purpose of improving the usability of the product through the usability evaluation of the voice tag reader to improve the life convenience of the visually impaired. Perceived usability evaluation was conducted for 19 evaluation items based on the evaluation model considering the usability principle and the characteristics of the visually impaired. A total of 50 participants were included for the analysis. As a result of the perceived usability evaluation of the visually impaired, the safety of the voice tag reader, voice and sound quality, and accuracy of voice information were relatively satisfactory. It was found that the reader received a low evaluation in terms of efficiency in use, including the size and weight of the reader, and the convenience of carrying and storing. For the usability improvement, the procedure for using a product needs to be more simplified, and it would be helpful to input and supply tags for commonly used objects in advance.

  • This research aims to compare the features and environments for media acceptance of tablet against laptop computer in the u-Learning environment. While it is need to accept suitable media for u-Learning learner, most of existing research has focused on finding factors which can affect perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use on extended technology acceptance model and how to fulfill those factors. Thus this research drew four categories need to use media in the u-Learning environment, then adopts Kano's model and IPA methodology. The results by Kano's model identify exciting and basic attributes which do not match overall satisfaction of learners. Moreover the research analyses by IPA methodology illustrate whether the factors considered important by learners are fulfilled. The research also emphasis the significance of enhancing relative importance as well as satisfaction of the properties for media acceptance in the u-Learning environment.

  • This study aims to review and analyze the contents related to environment among curriculum of Technology$.$Home Economics subject; to produce multimedia learning materials and web-based materials for effective environmental education: and to find the way to effectively utilize them in schools. The data were analyzed by t-test with SPSS Win 10.0 program. The results of this study are as follows; First, the textbook carries a lot of contents concerning the environment. Second, the multimedia materials help students to understand environmental issues and strengthen their attitudes of environmental problems very effectively. Third, after using the instructional multimedia materials, the students showed significantly different results.

Teacher Education using Online Learning Community: Success factors driven from the analysis of representative cases in the U.S.A. (온라인학습커뮤니티를 활용한 교사교육: 미국의 사례 분석에 기초한 성공 요인)

  • As the use of Internet becomes popular along with the rapid progress of digitalization, educators increasingly pay attention to online education as a method to complement the current educational system. Especially the Online Learning Community(OLC) has been successfully utilized for teacher education in many advanced countries including the U.S.A.. Considering such trend, this research analyzed representative cases which used the OLC for teacher education in the U.S.A. and explored major factors for successful construction and management of the OLC. Among various cases, five OLCs operated by universities and research institutes were selected, and special aspects of these OLCs were compared and analyzed. On the basis of the five case studies, this research suggested ten factors to be implemented for the successful construction and management of the OLC for teacher education.

  • 무선 인터넷을 이용하는 사용자는 정보의 양의 따른 시간적 통신비용의 증가 문제로 개인화 에이전트가 사용자의 관심에 따라 서비스를 제공하는 기능과 맞춤화된 정보를 제공하는 기능, 지식 기반 방식으로 정보를 예측하는 기능을 가지기를 바라고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이와 같이 무선 인터넷을 사용하는 사용자를 위한 PDA 개인화 에이전트 시스템을 구축하고자 한다. PDA 개인화 에이전트 시스템 구축을 위해 프로파일 기반의 에이전트 엔진과 사용자 프로파일을 이용한 지식기반 방식을 사용한다. 사용자가 웹페이지에서 행하는 행위들을 모니터링하여 사용자가 관심 가지는 문서를 파악하고 정보 검색을 통해 얻어진 문서를 분석하여 사용자 각각의 관심 문서로 나누어 서비스하게 된다. 모니터링 되어진 문서를 효과적으로 분석하기 위해 unsupervised clustering 기계학습 방식인 Cobweb을 이용한다. unsupervised 기계 학습은 conceptual 방식을 이용하여 검색되어진 정보를 사용자의 관심 분야별로 clustering한다. 클러스터링을 통해 얻어진 결과를 다시 기계학습을 통해 사용자 관심문서에 대한 프로파일을 생성하게 된다. 이렇게 만들어진 프로파일을 룰(Rule)로 만들어 이를 기반으로 사용자에게 서비스하게 된다. 이러한 룰은 사용자의 모니터링 결과로 얻어지기 때문에 주기적으로 업데이트하게 된다. 제안하는 시스템은 인터넷신문이나 웹진 등에서 사용자들에게 뉴스를 전달하기 위한 목적으로 생성하는 뉴스문서를 특정 대상으로 선정하였고 사용자 정보를 이용한 검색을 실시하고 결과로 얻어진 정보를 정보 분류를 통해 PDA나 휴대폰을 통해 사용자에게 제공한다. 상품을 검색하기 위한 검색노력을 줄이고, 검색된 대안들로부터 구매자와 시스템이 웹상에서 서로 상호작용(interactivity) 하여 해를 찾고, 제약조건과 규칙들에 의해 적합한 해를 찾아가는 방법을 제시한다. 본 논문은 구성기반 예로서 컴퓨터 부품조립을 사용해서 Template-based reasoning 예를 보인다 본 방법론은 검색노력을 줄이고, 검색에 있어 Feasibility와 Admissibility를 보장한다.매김할 수 있는 중요한 계기가 될 것이다.재무/비재무적 지표를 고려한 인공신경망기법의 예측적중률이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 로지스틱회귀 분석의 재무적 지표모형은 훈련, 시험용이 84.45%, 85.10%인 반면, 재무/비재무적 지표모형은 84.45%, 85.08%로서 거의 동일한 예측적중률을 가졌으나 인공신경망기법 분석에서는 재무적 지표모형이 92.23%, 85.10%인 반면, 재무/비재무적 지표모형에서는 91.12%, 88.06%로서 향상된 예측적중률을 나타내었다.ting LMS according to increasing the step-size parameter $\mu$ in the experimentally computed. learning curve.   • The educational system has been changed owing to Web, which is most actively used on internet and has the characteristics of providing suitable environments for implementing constructivism study theory. WBI(Web Based Instruction), web-mediated teaching form for students at a long distance, has the advantages of possible interact between instructors and learners, offering a great variety of learning materials, and overcome the spatiotemporal restriction. This paper focuces on the construction of learning surroundings where the learner-centered, active learning can be done by design and Implementation of web based instruct system providing a sham examination with an item pool system. The web based Self-directed Learning system for word processor qualifying exams on this paper, can be mentioned as a real item pool that the question is not setting each time by the instructors but can be reused by reference on item pool bank, designed the number of question. It helps the learner Self-directed Learning study with evaluation during the web based instruct process and immediate feedback. It also provides the chance to research some similar using keyword. To sum up, this system can amplify the efficiency of study.

  • Speaking generally, agent-based technology is a kind of technology to handle the flood of information resulted from the popularization of the internet. Agent system is a multi-distributed system which consists of both homogeneous and heterogeneous agents. Generally there is a coordination agent in between which is in charge of control and m message flow among the application agents. The purpose of this thesis is to propose a coordination method among agents, some of which provide informations and some of which request them. In multi-agent system, the Information Providing Agent(IPA) registers its capabilities to Coordination Agent(CA) and the Information Requesting Agent(lRA) requests CA what it needs. To coordinate them with satisfactory results the coordination agent ought to have an ability to return a relatively proper data to the requester which is supposed to be similar even though it is not so exact as was intended. For this, this thesis proposes a scheme for an coordination agent to find an IPA which provides an information which correlates most closely with that of IRA.

  • This study is an attempt to present a usage of the Web as CAI in the classroom and to give a direction to the future education in the face of information age. Characteristcs of information society, current curriculum, educational and teacher education are first analyzed in this article. The features of internet and 'Web are then summarized to present benefits of usage in the classroom as a CAI tool. The literature shows several characteristics of information society as follows : a technological computer, a provision and sharing of information, multi functional society, a participative democracy', an autonomy, a time value..A problem solving and 4 Cs(e.g., cooperation, copying, communication, creativity) are newly needed in this learning environment. The Internet is a large collection of networks that are tied together so that users can share their vast resources, a wealth of information, and give a key to a successful, efficient. individual study over a time and space. The 'Web increases an academic achievement, a creativity, a problem solving, a cognitive thinking, and a learner's motivation through an easy access to : documents available on the Internet, files containing programs, pictures, movies, and sounds from an FTP site, Usenet newsgroups, WAIS seraches, computers accessible through telnet, hypertext document, Java applets and other multimedia browser enhancements, and much more, In the Web browser will be our primary tool in searching for information on the Internet in this information age.
