  • This study aims to propose the futuristic guide system in the Web 2.0 era based on the analysis of past changing guide system in the domestic cyber universities. Guide System is destined to transform its feature and form according to the fast shift of technology and people's way of thinking. The theoretical ground this study took is cognitive psychology, communication theory, especially information design theory.

  • Open Source Softwares(OSS) are increasingly deployed in several domains, many educational organization have tried to deploy the OSS LMS(Learning Management System). For deploying OSS LMS, customization for specific environment is critical requirement. In this paper, we implemented the supporting environment to integrate the Moodle and school information system for user and course management. It is the most important customization requirement for introducing the Moodle to school. Also, we implemented supporting environment for the most important requirement so that we verified the usability of our guideline. We applied our environment to verify the efficiency of customization process.

  • The rapid progress of IT technologies promoted the foundation to offer users 'Any Time, Any Where, Any Service', and wireless internet services made it possible to use wired internet services while traveling. The previous academic administration management system having migrated from wired to wireless was dependent on mobile equipments' platform because of not being constructed on standard surroundings. And in the aspect of faculty system, course coordinator plays an significant role in building curricula and manage them, and finally counseling students with regard to them. But the course coordinator can't afford to advise students on which fields of their faculty fit them and which courses they have to take. We propose a mobile course coordinator system to help students learn profound courses of their major fields. Also the proposed system is implemented by using JAVA and WIPI technology, so that it is platform-independent. A mobile course coordinator system has an inference engine considering not only course trees which tell informations about the courses in every fields, but also personal courses that students have taken. The inference engine calculates three weights, representing the significance of each course considering every fields, the score of prerequisite courses which a student have taken, and the suitability in which department each student fits. When students apply for taking lectures, a mobile course coordinator system recommends them the most suitable courses. A mobile course coordinator system is able to substitute for the course coordinator who is counseling students. And the students with personal cellular phone are able to keep tracking their courses, and improve their knowledge about major with taking courses which the system's inference engine will advice.

  • Data mining techniques enable us to generate useful information for decision support from the data sources which are generated and accumulated in the process of routine organizational management activities. College administration system is a typical example that produces a warehouse of student records as each and every student enters a college and undertakes the curricular and extracurricular activities. So far, these data have been utilized to a very limited student service purposes, such as issuance of transcripts, graduation evaluation, GPA calculation, etc. In this paper, we utilized Holland career search test results, TOEIC score, course work list and GPA score as the input for data mining, and we were able to generate knowledge and rules with regard to the college road map advisory service. Factor analysis and AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) were the primary techniques deployed in the data mining process. Since these data mining techniques are very powerful in processing and discovering useful knowledge and information from large scale student databases, we can expect a highly sophisticated student advisory knowledge and services which may not be obtained from the human student advice experts.

정보통신산업 기술인력 실태조사

  • 총 101개 대학의 93년도 신입생 및 졸업생을 대상으로 실시한 정보통신산업의 기술인력 실태조사에 따르면 정보통신산업 관련학과 신입생 수는 30,436명, 졸업생수는 18,476명으로 나타났다. 또한 석.박사의 인력현황을 살펴보면 석사과정으로 1,614명, 박사과정으로 252명이 배출됐다. 이 실태조사를 토대로 정보통신산업 인력수급을 전체적으로 전망하면 학사인력은 충분할 것으로 보이지만 석.박사인력은 부족할 것으로 예상된다.

  • In this paper, an objective of this research is to add convenience to the intranet operating within an educational institution, by setting up a messenger function to enable the faculties and teachers to make better use of the university database via Intranet. With this messenger services, the users can view the information about the members in a group they belong to, and register as friends a group of members they selected from the work group they are in. This function will reduce the cumbersome chores of adding one individual as a friend at a time. This research will enhance the Intranet within an educational institution by integrating new functions. Speciallly, In this paper, it is stored student data by the input form by the JDBC of XML standard data. Also, it is able to search of stored database to web sever from web client by the SQL quary.

However, the course coordinator cannot afford to advise students on which fields of their faculty fit them and which courses they have to take. This paper proposes a mobile course coordinator system to help students learn courses of their major fields deeply. Also the proposed system is implemented by using WIPI technology, so that it is platform-independent and it is able to assist the course coordinator who is counseling students.   • Because personal information files held by educational institutions include sensitive information such as personal school affairs information or health information, damages resulted from personal information leakage of educational institutions are expected to be serious. In order to respond to this problem, the Ministry of Education has expanded information security education targeting (personal) information security officers in educational institutions. However, a number of personal information leakage cases of public institutions occurred at educational institutions. Thus, this study, targeting information security education centers, through an empirical research, tries to confirm whether information security education supply is being properly provided for (personal) information security officers in educational institutions, and suggest the appropriate balance between education supply and education demand as the implication for the educational direction of information security education centers.
