Several problems occur in reading education in a elementary school. They are the lack of considering the difference of student's capability and diagnosing their reading ability, the review activity focusing on only text and the discontinuation between school and home. Our system is designed and implemented to support leveled reading education using multimedia technology. We can diagnose the student's reading ability exactly and promptly and introduce suitable books considering their ability, and work the proper review activities with this system. It can help the students to interest their reading.

In this study, the effects of reading strategy, which is a combination of reading methods on high school students' reading ability were investigated using action research methodology in order to provide practical support in educational fields. Also, the effects of reading strategies on adolescents' reading attitudes and the correlation between text comprehension and change of reading attitudes were investigated. This study is unique for its adoption of reading method combinations as reading strategies to enhance the effectiveness of reading in terms of text comprehension. Also, this study is meaningful in dealing with the cognitive abilities of high school students.

Recently, there has been a growing demand for school libraries to take on the role of curriculum convergence and content development. This study purposed to develop a program that integrates reading activities and artificial intelligence (AI) education in a middle school library as a platform for convergence education. The program aimed to enhance creative problem-solving skills by integrating an understanding of AI concepts and principles through reading activities related to AI topics. The program, comprising 18 sessions (6 modules), was implemented with 36 first-year students at A Middle School, Gyeonggi-do, in 2022. After implementation, a paired-sample t-test revealed significant improvements in AI learning self-efficacy and creative problem-solving skills. Participants also showed positive attitudes toward class engagement and reading activities. Implications for AI convergence education in connection with school libraries were discussed.

This study examined elementary students' reading attitudes to identify the state of feeling related to reading. For this, 523 elementary students from the forth to the sixth of 'model schools for reading' participated and completed questionnaires. The results show that the average score of reading attitudes was 3.8 out of 5, and there were differences between schools, gender and grade levels. Girls' reading attitudes were more positive than boys and sixth-grade students' reading attitudes were the most negative of all grades. The students' attitudes of the school which emphasized reading for pleasure were better than that of reading for academic achievement.

The study has developed the scope and sequence of information literacy instruction's curriculum for integration strategies of traditional reading education, library use education and information literacy. For this purpose, this study compares and analyze the scope and sequence of reading education, library use education and information literacy instruction's curriculum in Korea, American and Japan. This study aims to analyze and compare the components of school library laws of Korea and Japan. The laws of two nations were legislated by the members of the National Assembly, and NGO contributed significantly to the legislative process. The common parts of the two laws are objectives, definitions, responsibilities of nations, establishments, tasks, human resources, collaborative networks, and education, etc. For the task of school libraries, Korean law emphasizes the function of education, while the Japan law focuses on the basic duties of school libraries. In terms of human resources, school libraries in Korea can have a teacher librarian, a practice teacher, or a librarian, but in Japan, they can have either a teacher librarian or a school librarian. The Korea law specifies the aspects of facilities and materials, but the Japan law does not. Finally, for the educational role, the Korean libraries have reading and information literacy training that are parts of school curriculum, while the Japan libraries have only a library use guidance program and does not include reading education.

The Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development is propelling the estabilishment project of Internet-based School Library Information System for prepares a foundation of resource sharing and inter-school library loan, to improvement of DB construction's efficiency and to reduces a maintenance's burden of local information system. This system adapted the Dublin Core based DLS-I metadata to accommodate teh network resources and conventional MARC, it will be able to use easily. But this system does not consider metadata for reading instruction that the important element of school library service. Thus, this study is review to the necessity of description on the reading and reading instruction beside of bibliographic data, extracts a metadata elements of reading and reading school library information system(DLS-I metadata)

The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of school library personnel on students' reading behaviors and to identify differences between schools on it. For this purpose, this study surveyed 5,349 elementary, middle and high school students from 154 schools across Korea, and conducted a survey on reading environment, school library, and DLS. The results of the analysis showed that the students at the school where teacher librarians works are more likely to read books, participate in various reading programs, receive more help from teacher librarians in selecting books to read, lending more books, have more experience with DLS and satisfaction with it. The differences between the schools were in the order of 'classes which school library personnel took part in,' 'number of borrowed books,' 'help in selecting books,' 'average reading time per day,' 'number of home books,' 'reading in school library.' Therefore, it is necessary to expand the placement of school library personnel and develop their professionalism in order to prevent inequality in the educational environment between schools.
