Geographical Information System for Nuclear Disaster Prevention (원자력방재를 위한 지리정보시스템)

  • 고리, 월성, 울진, 영광 등4개 원전부지와 하나로 연구용 원자로 부지에 대해 방사성물질의 대기 중 누출사고 발생 시 대축척 전자지도와 연계한 사고정보 파악, 예상피해분석, 방재시설 및 소개정보 활용 등을 통해 중앙정부 및 지방자치단체가 방사능 물질 피해지역관리 및 신속하고 효율적인 주민대응조치 수립을 위한 의사 결정 지원할 수 있는 방사능방재 지리정보시스템 구축이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 고리, 월성, 울진, 영광, 대전지역의 원자력 발전소 및 연구용 원자로 반경 40km이내 지역의 행정경계, 도로, 등고, 수계, 건물 등의 일반지형지물정보와, 비상계획구역 내 마을의 상세정보, 집결지, 대피소, 교통통제소, 환경방사능감시기, TLD등의 방재시설물 위치 및 관련 상세정보, 관공서, 경찰서, 소방서, 보건소, 학교, 병원 등의 방재관련 지형지물 위치 및 관련 상세정보, 원전부지 내 인구분포, 보유 차량 분포, 농작물 재배 현황, 축산물 재배현황 등의 방재관련 사회통계정보를 포함하는 공간 및 속성 데이터베이스는 구축하였다. 이를 기반으로 방사선 피폭영향 평가시스템(FADAS)의 예상평가결과를 전자지도 상에 표출하고, 이에 근거한 예상피해를 분석하며, 소개단계 대상 마을 검색 및 바람장 분석을 활용한 소개경로 제시 등을 통해 주민보호조치 의사결정을 지원하며, 사고대응 및 소개현황 정보를 관리하는 웹 기반의 원자력방재 지리정보시스템을 확대 개발하였다. 방재시설물 및 방재관련 지형지물, 방재관련 사회통계자료의 검색기능 및 실시간 원전 바람장 정보조회, 실시간 ERMS 수집정보 조회, 수치예보 정보 조회, 온라인DB관리 등의 확대 구현을 통해 사고대응조치 및 피해분석업무를 지원하였다. 본 연구를 통한 원자력방재 지리정보시스템 완성을 통해 방사능 비상시 중앙본부와 지역본부 및 유관기관 간에 지리정보와 연계한 정확한 사고정보 및 방재정보의 신속한 공유를 제공하고, 적절한 비상대응조치 의사결정 및 주민보조조치 수행을 지원하여 효율적인 사고지역 관리 및 인적 물적 자원의 피해를 최소화하는데 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

The Characteristics of Vehicle Speed Violation in School Zones (어린이 보호구역에서의 차량 속도위반 특성 분석)

  • Since speed limit enforcement in school zones is the most important to reduce the occurrence of severe child related accidents, school zones typically have a speed limit of 30km/h. However, it is found that the majority of vehicles passing school zones are traveling over 30km/h. This indicates that school zones are not being effectively operated to achieve the main objective which is the reduction of child related accidents. This study aims to identify the factors affecting the violation of speed limits in school zones through the results of field survey from 8 elementary schools. The results showed that time period, the number of lanes, the width of sidewalks, and the status of colored pavement were found to be highly associated with the violation of speed limits in school zones at the 95% significance level. The results of this study may provide some insights for making safe environments around schools.

A Study on the Establishment of a Parking and Stopping Prevention System in Child Protection Zone (어린이 보호구역 주·정차 방지시스템 구축에 관한 연구)

  • In order to prevent traffic accidents for children who are vulnerable to traffic around elementary schools, a school zone in the children's protection zone is designated, and parking and stopping are prohibited in this area as the vehicle speed is less than 30km/h. However, Korea has a disgrace that the death rate of children from traffic accidents is the No. 1 among OECD countries. Against this backdrop, this study aims to contribute to preventing traffic accidents and raising awareness of driver safety by establishing an illegal parking and stopping system in the child protection zone due to various road conditions in the child protection zone. As a research method, a plan to build a parking and stopping prevention system was presented based on major preceding studies and literature investigation and analysis. Through the construction plan, effects such as preventing traffic accidents, inducing smart drivers to drive safely, strengthening pedestrian safety awareness, and inducing driver's awareness of safety can be expected.

  • 어림(estimation)은 대강짐작으로 헤아림을 뜻하는 말로 '어림없다'는 너무 커서 어림조차 할 수 없을 때 사용한다. 그래서 어떤 값을 '어림했다'는 것은 정확하게 측정하지 않았다는 의미로 실험값을 정확하게 측정해야 하는 과학의 속성과는 거리가 좀 멀어 보인다. 하지만 어림은 과학자뿐 아니라 일반인에게도 쓰임새가 많은 사고활동의 하나로 측정의 정확도가 날로 높아지고 있는 첨단과학 시대에도 그 중요성이 줄어들지 않고 있다. 이미 수학교육에서는 초등학교 정규 교육과정 내에서 어림하는 활동을 포함시키고 있으며, 과학교육에서도 다양한 활용방안을 모색하고 있다. 심지어 기업체에서는 인재를 선발할 때 어림하는 능력을 보기도 한다. 그렇다면 어림이 과학과 어떤 관계가 있는 것일까?

  • 대한급식신문은 단체급식 산업과 문화의 발전을 선도하는 국내 대표 단체급식 전문신문이다. 급식이란 '외식 산업'을 비롯해 상업성 비상업성 급식 모두를 포함하는 정의로 우리 오리산업과 긴밀하지 않을 수 없다. 그리고 우리와 같은 급식 산업 내의 소비자와 공급자, 그리고 관계 기관들은 국내 급식 외식산업의 조명을 대한급식신문을 통해 공유하고 있다. 국내 급식산업은 2006년 대형위탁급식업체의 학교급식 식중독사고 이후 많은 변화를 겪었다. 이로 인해 우리나라 모든 학교가 직영급식체제로 변환하게 되었지만, 국내 급식환경이 너무 열악하여 관련 종사자들에게 정보를 전달해 줄 수 있는 방법이 전혀 없었던 실정이었다. 이에 지금의 최석철 발행인은 대한급식신문을 창간하고 국내 급식 외식산업을 수준 높은 산업의 이미지를 각인시키는데 이바지 해오고 있다. 또한 '우수급식 외식산업전, 설맞이 명절 선물상품전, 한가위 명절선물상품전' 등 연간 3회의 전시회를 주관, 국내 급식 외식산업의 새로운 판로개척의 기회를 제공하고 있다. 현재 매쎄이앤디 대표이사와 대한급식신문사의 대표이사로 활발한 활동을 펼치고 있는 최석철 발행인을 본지에서 만나봤다.

Designing and Implementing High School Geometry Lessons Emphasizing the Connections between Euclidean and Analytic Geometries (GeoGebra를 활용한 논증기하와 연결된 해석기하 수업자료 개발 및 적용)

  • The "Figure Equation" chapter of current high school curriculum prevents students from relating the concept with what they studied in middle school Euclidean geometry. Woo(1998) concerns that the curriculum introduces the concept merely in algebraic ways without providing students with opportunities to relate it with their prior understanding of geometry, which is based on Euclidean one. In the present study, a sequence of GeoGebra-embedded-geometry lessons was designed so that students could be introduced to and solve problems of the Analytic Geometry by triggering their prior understanding of the Euclidean Geometry which they had learnt in middle school. The study contributes to the field of mathematics education by suggesting a sequence of geometry lessons where students could introduce to the coordinate geometry meaningfully and conceptually in high school.

Modeling Traffic Accident Occurrence Involving Child Pedestrians at School Zone (공간적 특성을 고려한 어린이 교통사고 모형 개발)

  • The objective of this study is to develop road traffic accident model involving child pedestrian especially at school zones and its surrounding area. The analysis is based upon traffic accident data collected near sixty elementary schools in City of Cheongju during 2012 and 2014. This study results in two statistical models ; one is to predict the number of road traffic accidents involving children, and the other is to predict EPDO(Equivalent Prperty Damage Only). These models are represented as Poisson models. which are statistically significant with the likelihood ratios of 0.533 and 0.273. The common explanatory variables of these models are the ratio of road section with more than 4 lanes, the number of entrance and exit, the number of signalized crosswalk in school zone, the number of school zone signage including road surface marking, and the number of speed limit signs. The specific variables are the length of road stretch in school zone, the number of reflector mirrors, and the number of signalized crosswalk outside school zone. It is concluded that these types of road safety facilities can reduce the number of traffic accidents involving children at school zones and its surrounding area.

An Improvement Plan on Fire Safety Management of Public Institutions: Focusing on the Case of Elementary and Secondary Schools (공공기관 소방안전관리 실태조사를 통한 개선방안에 관한 연구 : 초·중등학교를 중심으로)

  • The aim of this study is to identify ways to improve fire safety management of elementary and junior high schools, which can prevent potentially dangerous situations and establish a rapid response system for fire-related emergencies by analyzing existing fire safety management public institutions. We investigated the expertise, prevention ability, preparation ability, and operation form of fire safety managers working in elementary and secondary schools in Kangwon Province. A questionnaire composed of 26 items was completed by 238 fire safety managers. Results shows that the perception of fire safety management is considerably high, while the ability of the fire safety manager to prepare for and cope with an accident still needs improvement.

A Case Study on Teaching Solutions Exploration of Wythoff's Game through Using the Analogy for the Elementary Gifted Class (초등학교 영재학급에서 유추를 활용한 위도프 게임의 해법 탐구 지도 방법)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze cases on teaching solutions exploration of Wythoff's game through using the analogy for the gifted elementary students, to suggest useful teaching methods. Students recognized structural similarity among problems on the basis of relevance of conditions of problems. The discovery of structural similarity improves the ability to solve problems. Although 2 groups-NIM game with surface similarity is not helpful in solving Wythoff's game, Queen's move game with structural similarity makes it easier for students to solve Wythoff's game. Useful teaching methods to find solutions of Wythoff's game through using the analogy are as follow. Encoding process helps students make sense of the game. It is significant to help students realize how many stones are remained and how the location of Queen can be expressed by the ordered pair. Inferring process helps students find a solution of 2 groups-NIM game and Queen's move game. It is necessary to find a winning strategy through reversely solving method. Mapping process helps students discover surface similarity and structural similarity through identifying commonalities between the two games. It is crucial to recognize the relationship among the two games based on the teaching in the Encoding process. Application process encourages students to find a solution of Wythoff's game. It is more important to find a solution by using the structural similarity of the Queen's move game rather than reversely solving method.

Development and Application of Primary Puzzle-Based Learning Program for Computer Science Education (컴퓨터 과학 교육을 위한 초등 퍼즐 기반 학습 프로그램 개발 및 적용)

  • Developing computational thinking ability is crucial for those living in the 21st century. However, the current computational education system cannot satisfy this need. Current computational education tends to be limited to the teaching of the use of application programs or the teaching of the programming language. This is why the primary puzzle-based learning program was developed. This program promotes the development of the learner's computational thinking ability and understanding of the principles of the computer science as opposed to the fragmented, uniform programing education. In order to prove the effectiveness of this newly developed program, a 35-hour study was conducted to 41 students from grade 3 to 6 classrooms in Jeju Province. It was proved that this program brings positive changes in creativie problem-solving ability and problem-solving abilities in computer science. This paper is to provide the ground for the development of an educational program and to prove the effectiveness of thereof, and finally introduce the Primary Puzzle-Based Learning Program as the alternative computational education.
