The purpose of this study was to examine the mechanism through which youth school-based mentoring program impacts mentees' psychological and school-related outcomes such as self-esteem, self-efficacy, and attitudes toward school. The hypothetical model was assumed that mentors could improve their mentees' developmental outcomes through positive relationships with mentors as good role models and enhancement of help-seeking orientation. To investigate the mediating effect of process-related outcomes, structural equation modeling was used. The 97 adolescents were recruited through referral and random selection from middle schools in Seoul. The result showed that the effects of program participation were mediated by proximal changes in connectedness to role models and development of help-seeking orientation that, in turn, led to facilitate more positive attitudes toward school and academic activity, and improve psychological outcomes. Practice and policy implications as well as further research topics were discussed to aid the search for highly effective mentoring programs.

The purpose of this study is to explore and describe the health and welfare needs experienced by old parents living with disabled adult children, and to help generate research interest and public policy attention on this critical issue. For the purpose of this study, the survey was conducted with older parents who are living with dependent adult children with physical or mental disability. Among collected data for this study, data for 105 older parents were analyzed. The results showed that older parents have suffered with care responsibilities for their disabled adult children as well as special needs resulted from their old age. And older parents have little or even nothing prepared for later life because of lifetime economic, physical and social difficulties related to their disabled children. Also these difficulties had a significant impact on their idea of health and welfare needs in later life. It showed that older parents had mainly concerned and wanted to have the direct cash benefits and medical provisions but hardly recognised the importance of other services such as leisure activities. Preliminary suggestions of this study therefore may be helpful to improve the public policy approach in order to better serve older parents with disabled adult children in the coming aging society.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the paths of the related variables that exert an influence upon the increase in mild and serious delinquencies of part-time work adolescents. Based on differential association theory, social control theory and power resource theory, the research model was composed and analyzed through structural equation model. Data came from survey which was done by fifteen high schools located in Seoul, and 201 questionnaire of returned were used for analysis. The results were congruent with theoretical expectations. The relationship between work hour per week and delinquency was mediated by delinquent propensity of fellow workers, amount of spending money and school adjustment. In conclusion, various theoretical and practical implications for social work practice focusing on the part time work students were discussed. Enforcement of regulation and revision of current law and various ways for helping and supervising working students in school, family and working places are needed.

본 연구의 목적은 재정목표와 재정지표에 따라 해외 직역연금을 유형화하고 한국 사학연금의 재정목표와 재정지표 설정을 위한 기초자료를 제시하는 것이다. 주요 분석결과는 국민연금으로부터의 제도적 독립 내지 통합 차원에 따라 직역연금의 재정목표와 재정지표를 유형화할 수 있다는 것이다. 직역연금 독립형(미국 캘리포니아 교직원연금, 대만 사학연금, 캐나다 군인연금)의 경우, 국민연금과 별도의 재정평가 기준이 활용되는 경향이 목도된다. 국민연금-직역연금 통합형(일본 사학연금, 오스트리아 공무원연금)의 경우 전체 국민연금의 재정평가기준 내에서 직역연금의 재정평가가 이루어진다. 해외 직역연금 사례 검토 결과에 기초하여 본 연구에서는 다음의 두 가지를 정책적으로 제언한다. 첫째, 노후소득보장 체계의 전체적(holistic) 맥락에서 한국 사학연금의 명확한 미래 전략을 구상할 것을 제언한다. 둘째, 이러한 미래 전략에 기초하여 한국 사학연금의 재정목표 및 재정지표를 설정하는 것을 정책적으로 제언한다. 사학연금의 재정목표와 재정지표 설정 시 사회보험의 특수성 반영, 재정목표와 재정지표 간 명확한 연계, 재정목표 미달성 보완책으로서 자동조정장치, 재정목표 수정, 구조적 개혁을 고려할 수 있다.

There are increasing numbers of North Korean defectors. Many of them enter universities and major in social welfare in order to get jobs. As a required course, they must participate in field practicum and many difficulties are expected. This study aims to examine the North Korean defectors' practicum experience in specific, and to support more effectively in the field work education. To achieve this purpose, female North Korean defectors who go to G cyber university and have finished their field practicums, were interviewed in an in-depth interview. The data were analyzed with the open coding through the constant comparison method as Grounded theory's initial analysis. As the result, the following was found: 49 concepts, 18 sub-categories, and 7 categories. The categories include difficulties in the process of preparation for and beginning with various obstacles; confusion due to the differences between the North Korean and South Korean culture; tasks and functions that were not expected, personal relationships which were burdensome to them; feeling a lack of professional competence; inevitable environmental circumstances, and personal problems. Based on the results, suggestions for better support in field practice education in the side of universities, community agencies, individual students and the general society were addressed.

본 연구의 목적은 대학생의 학교생활만족이 자아탄력성에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 살펴보고 대학생활적응의 기초자료 활용과 시사점의 제공에 목적을 두고자 하였다. 이를 위해 통계자료를 활용하여 요인분석은 Varimax에 의한 직교회전에 의하여 요인적재치를 산출하였고, 설문문항에 대한 측정은 크론바하 알파계수(Crobach's Alpha)를 이용하여 신뢰도 검증을 실시하였다. 실증분석 결과, 스트레스, 친구관계, 정서적지지는 학교생활만족에 따라 자아탄력성에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 전공수업, 대학환경은 학교생활만족에 따라 자아탄력성에 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않은 것으로 나타났다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of family poverty on the school adjustment of multi-cultural adolescents in Korea. For this purpose, the 7th data of Multi-cultural Adolescents Panel Study(MAPS) was used and the OLS multiple regression models ware applied. to the analyses. From the result of the OLS model analyses, we found out that family poverty affect significantly on the school adjustment of multi-cultural adolescents. Especially, family poverty has the significant negative(-) effects on academic achievement and friend relationships. These results of this study show that family poverty is an important factor influencing the school adjustment of multi-cultural adolescents. And they confirm that family poverty during period of the adolescent has an important meaning and influence on the aspect of school adjustment as to the multi-cultural adolescents. Implications of this study may be that policy attentions are necessary to not only multi-cultural characteristics but also family background such as poverty in oder to improve the school adjustment of the multi-cultural adolescents. In addition, results of this study suggest that more special support and interventions are requested to the multi-cultural adolescents from poverty families who are suffering dual difficulties such as multi-cultural problems and poverty problem.

The objective of this study was to examine the association between participation in volunteer activities and self-esteem among adolescents. This study used data from the wave3-5(2005-2007) of Korean Youth Panel Study(KYPS). This study analyzed data of 3,449 second grade middle school students cohort. Fixed effects model using Proc GLM procedure in SAS was adopted to examine association between participation in volunteer activities and self-esteem among study participants. The results show that life satisfaction, appearance stress, relationship with parents, relationship with siblings, grades, relationship with teachers, and relationship with friends were significantly associated with self-esteem. Volunteer activities participation was associated with increased level of self-esteem.

The purpose of this study is to provide basic data to confirm the necessity and effectiveness of the memory school by investigating the perception of users and caregivers about the services and programs provided by the memory school, a social welfare institution for the elderly with minor dementia. For this purpose, 363 students and students in Daegu City were surveyed about the satisfaction and attitude of using memory school. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the use of the memory school is very helpful to the users, and at the same time, it is very meaningful for the decrease of the caregiver burden of the caregiver. Thus, it can be seen that the memory school has the effect of appropriately matching the installation purpose of the facility. In particular, it was found that the degree of satisfaction with the program level, type of service, and future sustainability of the memory school exceeded 90%. Therefore, this study aims to provide policy implications for the social welfare response for the elderly with mild dementia and for the basic data on the memory school for this purpose.

This study is for a small sized library to expand the functions of public libraries in the community. This study aims to encourage local residents utilizing information and public libraries by opening parted facilities to public and naming it a substitute. It is expected to contribute to richer welfare system. In detail, the study discusses progression of the small sized library as well as budgeting and hiring staffs in Committee on Library and Policy. However, there is limitations in terms of capabilities because school library is different from public library target users, space, unit plans. Therefore, this study investigates a small sized library as a function to find out type, plan, and space availability and size of ideal open school library.
