The influence of dynamic force balance on the estimation of dynamic uniaxial compression strength (암석시료 내 동적하중 분배특성이 동적일축압축강도에 미치는 영향성에 관한 연구)

  • It has been an always issue for the blasting or the impact analysis to consider the strength characteristics of the rock materials associate with loading rate dependency. Due to the nature of transient loading, the dynamic rock test requires a careful technique to achieve the stress equilibrium state of the specimen. In this study, to investigate the relationship between the rock dynamic strength and the stress equilibrium state, a series of dynamic uniaxial compression tests for Pocheon granite were performed. As a result, the unbalanced stress state on the specimen can lead to the premature failure on the specimen and the less estimation of dynamic strength characteristic as well as the overestimation of strain rate. Consequently, a careful consideration of rock fracture process to achieve the dynamic force balance on the specimen should be required to make an reasonable evaluation of rock dynamic strength.

A Study on Polar Converting Logic of BTT Missiles (BTT 유도탄의 하중계수 분배논리 연구)

  • This paper presents polar converting logic(PCL) of BTT missiles against slowly moving or stationary targets. A guidance commands expressed in rectangular coordinates must be converted in the form of polar coordinates for BTT control. Since conventional PCL has nonlinear and discontinuous function, the missiles may lose controllability when pitch acceleration command equals to zero. Further, roll coupling may have a serious unstabilizing influence on homing guidance with two gimbals seeker. In this paper, a linear homotopy equation is introduced to improve the controllability and a command following performance at midcourse phase. We also design a PCL which is less sensitive to pitch acceleration command so that it may improve the stability of the homing loop. To substantiate our conclusion, results of the computer simulation have been illustrated.

Analysis of Moving Vehicle Load Distribution of Curved Steel Box Girder Bridges considering Various Support Conditions (곡선교의 받침특성에 따른 주행차량하중분배 특성분석)

  • A 3-D numerical model, which could demonstrate the static and dynamic responses of a curved bridge more precisely with the moving vehicles, was developed The dynamic response induced by the centrifugal rolling motion of vehicle was identified according to the variations of the partial grade and the curvature of the slab. Dynamic characteristics of the curved bridge with the moving vehicle were analyzed under the condition of support types and two different support systems. Parametric studies were conducted to compare the efficiency of load distribution in the curved bridge. In general, while the vehicle was crossing the curved bridge, negative reaction occurred in the inside of the girder. The final result showed that the support system located outside the girder was more advantageous than other systems, and the characteristics of load distributions differed from the others in the various conditions of support systems.

Structural Responses of Composite-girder Bridges Due to Design Live Loads using Distribution Factor Method and Grillage Analysis (횡분배계수법과 평면격자 해석법을 이용한 합성거더교의 설계활하중 응답연구)

  • In this paper, the modified live-load and designed formula are studied according to the fact the highway bridge design specifications are recently revised. The two examples for composite steel plates and PSC girder bridges are studied. The envelope is analyzed with the finite element models and lateral load distribution method applying the existing highway bridge specification(2010), the newly revised highway bridge specification(2015) and AASHTO LRFD. In case of composite steel plates, length changes between spans are studied, and in case of PSC girder. changes of the number of cross-beams and spans, and span-lengths, are analyzed.

  • 차량에 있어서 제동장치가 차지하는 중요도는 다른 부품에 비하여 매우 크다고 말할 수 있겠다. 그래서 차량 brake system을 적용하는데 있어서 가장 기초가 되는 수식 및 일반사항을 설명 함으로써 차량과 brake 관계를 넓게 이해하고 가장 적합한 제동장치의 설계에 도움을 주려는 데 본 기술의 목적이 있다. 우선 차량제원에 맞는 brake 성능에 관하여 생각하여 보자. 2개의 차 축을 갖고 있는 차량에서 제동할 경우 전 후 차축(front axle, rear axle)의 동하중(dynamic weight)은 정지상태 때의 하중과는 달라지게 된다. 그러므로 brake 성능은 이 동하중의 분배에 좌우되는 것이다.

The Structural Behavior and Performance by Span-to-Depth Ratio in Composite Structure of Sandwish System (셀 형상비에 따른 강.콘크리트 복합구조체의 구조적 거동 및 성능)

  • 이 논문은 샌드위치식 강-콘크리트 복합구조체에서 상하 강판과 격벽으로 구성되는 셀의 형상비가 거동과 성능에 미치는 영향을 다루었다. 이 구조체에서 셀 형상비는 하중전달 메카니즘과 하중분배능력을 변화시킨다. 따라서 셀 형상비에 따라 부재의 응력수준과 하중저항능력이 변화한다. 이 연구에서는 셀 형상비가 이 구조체의 거동과 성능에 미치는 영향을 규명하기 위해, 두 종류의 샌드위치식 복합구조체에 대해 다양한 셀 형상비를 설정하여 비선형 구조해석을 수행하였다. 해석결과로부터 셀 형상비에 따른 하중전달 메카니즘과 부채 응력에서의 차이점을 도출하였으며, 이들 차이점을 바탕으로 셀 형상비가 전단성능, 휨성능, 하중저항성능에 미치는 영향을 분석하였고, 파괴모드와 연성에 미치는 영향에 대해서도 간략히 언급하였다. 연구결과, 셀 형상비가 증가함에 따라 하부 강판과 콘크리트의 응력수준이 낮아지는 결과를 나타내었다. 이것은 각 부재의 유효휨강성과 유효전단강성 증가를 나타내며, 따라서 구조체의 하중저항성능도 향상되는 것으로 판단된다. 특히 셀 형상비의 증가에 따른 성능향상에서 전단성능이 휨성능에 비해 더 큰 효과를 나타내며, 이러한 차이는 파괴모드와 연성에도 영향을 미칠 것으로 판단된다. 즉, 셀 형상비가 증가함에 따라 구조물의 거동 및 파괴모드는 점차적으로 전단에서 휨으로 변화하고, 이에 따라 구조물의 연성도 점차적으로 향상될 것으로 판단된다.

A Study on Bridge Live Loads and Traffic Modes (도로교 차량하중 및 통행특성에 관한 연구)

  • The structural integrity of bridges is mainly damaged by overloaded heavy vehicles. The increasing volumes of overloaded heavy vehicles has been indicated as serious state. As results several countries have revised their bridge load codes. However, because of variety of truck types and their weights it is difficult to develop rational standard truck loads. In addition the common practice that only one design configuration of standard truck is adopted to design variety of bridges causes further difficulties. The objective of the study is to investigate the statistical characteristics of vehicle loadings based on survey data collected, in which some major factors, such as vehicle configurations, vehicle weights, traffic modes, etc., are incorporated. The vehicle load effects due to single presence of heavy truck are also tested with several short-span bridges and probabilistic characteristics of current design practices are evaluated.

Seismic Response of Structures with Buckling-Restrained Braces (좌굴방지 가새가 설치된 건물의 지진응답)

  • Energy dissipation capacity and earthquake responses of steel structures installed with unbonded braces(UB) were investigated. Parametric studies were performed for a single-degree-of-freedom structure under harmonic loads, and optimum yield strength of unbonded braces were derived. Nonlinear dynamic time history analyses were carried out to investigate the seismic response of multi-story model structures with UB having various size and strength. Various techniques were applied to determine proper story-wise distribution of UB in multi-story structures. The analysis results show that the maximum displacements of structures generally decrease as the stiffness of UB increases. However for some natural frequencies and seismic loads the maximum displacement and accumulated damage increases as the stiffness of UB increases.
