Priority-Based Hybrid File Storage Management System Using Logical Volume Manager (논리 볼륨 매니저를 이용한 파일 우선순위 기반의 하이브리드 저장장치 관리 시스템)

  • Recently, the I/O performance of a single node is rapidly improving due to the advent of high-performance SSD. As a result, the next-generation storage platform based on SSD has received a great deal of attention and such storage platforms are increasingly adopted to commodity servers or data centers that look for the high-bandwidth computation and I/O. However, building all SSD-based storage platform may not be cost-effective because the price per storage capacity is very high as compared to that of HDD. In this paper. we propose a hybrid file management solution, called HyPLVM(Hybrid Priority Logical Volume Manager), which combines the strength of SSD with the desirable aspects of low-price, high-storage capacity HDD. HyPLVM prioritizes the files and directories to be accessed by users, in order to determine the target storage device (SSD/HDD) in which files are allocated, while mitigating the cost of building storage platforms.

  • For the application into a 1 kWh flywheel energy storage system(FESS), this paper presents the design scheme of radial and axial hybrid magnetic bearings which use bias fluxes generated by permanent magnets. In particular, the axial hybrid magnetic bearing is newly proposed in this paper, in which a permanent magnet is arranged in axial direction so that it can support the rotor weight as well as provide a bias flux for axial magnetic bearing. Such hybrid magnetic bearings consume very low power, compared with conventional electromagnetic bearings. In this paper, to stably support a 140 kg flywheel rotor without contact, design process is explained in detail, and magnetic circuit analysis and three-dimensional finite element analysis are carried out to determine the design parameters and predict the performance of the magnetic bearings.

  • This study is to demonstrate the superiority and stability of the solar - wind power hybrid power generation system for street lamps using super capacitor EDLC(:Electric Double Layer Capacitor). It is aiming to apply the lighting device using LED light source as the load of solar-wind power hybrid power generation system for independent power source and to develop the street light system device with high output power generation system. Unlike conventional controllers, EDLC, which is used as an auxiliary device for storing the developed power in the battery, can guarantee the high output and long life of the battery.

  • Ground firing test facility and test field for firing test of hybrid rocket engine were constructed. Ground firing test facility were composed of hybrid rocket engine, thrust stand, oxidizer storage/supply system, control system and data acquisition system. Firing tests of thrust 50 kgf class were conducted. Stable performance data was obtained and operational reliability of ground firing test facility were found.

  • With the rapid growth of mobility technology, the industrial sector is demanding storage devices that can reliably process data from various equipment and sensors in vehicles. NAND flash memory is being utilized as a storage device in mobility environments because it has the advantages of low power and fast data processing speed as well as strong external shock resistance. However, flash memory is characterized by data corruption due to long-term exposure to high temperatures. Therefore, a dedicated system for temperature management is required in mobility environments where high temperature exposure due to weather or external heat sources such as solar radiation is frequent. This paper designs a dedicated temperature management system for managing storage device temperature in a mobility environment. The designed temperature management system is a hybrid of traditional air cooling and water cooling technologies. The cooling method is designed to operate adaptively according to the temperature of the storage device, and it is designed not to operate when the temperature step is low to improve energy efficiency. Finally, experiments were conducted to analyze the temperature difference between each cooling method and different heat dissipation materials, proving that the temperature management policy is effective in maintaining performance.

  • 본 논문에서는 디젤발전기와 에너지 저장 시스템, 태양광 발전을 이용한 스마트 그린 빌딩의 하이브리드 에너지 시스템을 제안한다. 빌딩 하이브리드 에너지시스템은 다양한 전력원을 가질 수 있는데 기존의 디젤발전기에 화석연료를 저감할 목적으로 풍력발전시스템이나 태양광발전시스템과 같은 형태의 신재생에너지원들이 연계 운전될 수 있다. 연료소모를 최소화하고 디젤발전기의 느린 출력응답특성으로 인한 계통 전압 불안정화를 보상하기 위해 응답특성이 빠른 배터리와 슈퍼커패시터로 이루어진 에너지저장장치와 태양광발전원과의 연계운전 기술을 제안하고 시뮬레이션 하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 디젤발전기와 ESS(Energy Storage System)를 이용한 스마트 그린 빌딩의 하이브리드 에너지 시스템을 제안한다. 빌딩 하이브리드 에너지시스템은 다양한 전력원을 가질 수 있는데 기존의 디젤발전기에 화석연료를 저감할 목적으로 풍력발전시스템이나 태양광발전시스템과 같은 형태의 신재생에너지원들이 연계 운전될 수 있다. 여기서 디젤발전기의 느린 출력응답특성으로 인한 계통 전압 불안정화를 보상하기 위해 응답특성이 빠른 배터리와 슈퍼커패시터로 이루어진 에너지 저장장치와의 연계운전 기술을 제안하고 시뮬레이션 하였다.

  • 최근 화석연료 고갈 문제를 해결하기 위해 대체에너지 개발과 다양한 형태의 에너지 개발에 관한 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 특히, supercapacitor는 high energy density, high power density, longer life-time과 같은 특성으로 인해 에너지 저장 소자로 각광 받고 있다. Supercapacitor는 석유를 대체할 수 있으며 이산화탄소 배출이 없는 친환경 에너지인 태양광, 풍력, 수소연료전지 등의 신재생에너지 저장장치로써 큰 비중을 차지한다. Supercapacitor의 종류인 electrical double layer capacitors (EDLCs) 는 전극과 전해질 사이에 발생하는 전기 이중층에 축적되는 전하를 이용하여 에너지를 저장하는 반응 메커니즘을 가지며 전극 재료로는 탄소 소재를 사용한다. 탄소 소재는 환경 오염이 적고 가격이 저렴하며 넓은 표면적이라는 장점이 있다. 하지만 기존 탄소 소재는 이러한 장점을 가지지만 supercapacitor로써의 효율이 좋지 않게 나온다. 이런 문제를 개선하기 위하여 그래핀 나노플레이트(Graphene nanoplate, GNP) 위에 직접 탄소나노튜브(Carbon nanotube, CNT)를 성장 시킴으로써 GNP-CNT 하이브리드 탄소 소재를 제조하여 전극으로 사용하였다. 이 GNP-CNT 하이브리드 탄소 소재는 다차원 구조를 가짐으로써 기존 탄소 소재들보다 분산이 잘되고 전해질과의 작용하는 비표면적이 넓다. 전극을 제작하여 Cyclic voltammetry(CV)와 galvano를 측정한 결과는 기존 탄소나노튜브보다 5배 정도의 정전용량(Capacitance)를 가졌다. 이 전극의 구조적 특성을 관찰하기 위해 SEM, TEM 등을 측정하였다.

  • The majority of electric power in the domestic manned islands with off-grid power system is supplied by the diesel generators. However, in the case of off-grid islands the fuel cost is more expensive to inland areas and difficult to transport them to islands. So the development of renewable energy system using natural resource have been recently introduced. But renewable energy that depend on the natural environment, it is necessary to organized the hybrid system with existing diesel engine because the energy is difficult to maintain stable electric power. This paper presents the results of a feasibility study of hybrid system with energy storage system such as wind, solar, battery and diesel engine. The study included off-grid island as the Seogeochado islands located in Jeolanamdo Province. And, the paper proposed a optimal capacity of hybrid system configuration to maintain carbon free with minimum investment cost. the analysis of economic adaptability performed by HOMER program.
