This study was intended to perform cephalometric analysis of the facial soft tissue profile after surgical correction of skeletal Class III malocclusion after SSRO in 29 patients (Males 12, females 17). Lateral cephalograms were taken in centric occlusion before and immediate, long term after surgeries. 1. Counter-clockwise rotation of mandible was observed after the surgery, average relapses of mandibular set back were 1.23-1.28mm. The net effects of the mandibular set-back after surgeries were 81.7-82.2%. Because these relapse tendencies may reduce the effects of the surgical outcomes, surgeon must consider these net before the surgical treatment planning. 2. The ratio of horizontal changes of hard tissue to soft tissue at lower lip, mentolabial sulcus, pogonion were 72.7-93.7%, 100.3%, 99.1-102.1% respectively. There were little changes at upper lip position anteroposteriorly. 3. The relationship of upper and lower lips were improved after surgery. Lower lip was posteriorly repostioned and upper lip was flattend and elongated in conjunction with deepening of inferior lobial sulcus. But profile of chin was still prominent after surgery. 4. Hard tissue horizontal changes and tissue vertical changes were significantly correlated with each other and there were reverse correlations with hard tissue vertical changes and soft tissue horizontal changes.

Treatment of skeletal Class III malocclusion with mini-implant anchorage is discussed in relation to vertical control of the maxillary posterior dentoalveolar region and horizontal control of mandibular anterior teeth. A midpalatal mini-implant provided anchorage for intruding the maxillary posterior teeth. Mandibular mini-Implant implants were used to bring about labioversion of mandibular anterior teeth. After mandibular setback surgery, improvement of the facial profile was obtained both horizontally and vertically, Total treatment time was 11 months. Stable occlusion was maintained after 18 months of retention, The effectiveness and efficacy of mini-implants for the treatment of skeletal Class III malocclusion are also discussed.

The radicular cyst is the most common odontogenic cyst which is caused by pulpal inflammation, pulp death, and secondary to trauma or dental caries. Usually, the radicular cyst is asymptomatic, but a secondary inflammation can cause pain, swelling and redness. Getting larger, the radicular cyst can cause facial asymmetry and paresthesia by pressure on nerves. It requires conservative endodontic treatment or surgical approach. When the size of cyst is large or invasion of the adjacent tissue is not expected, cyst enucleation is carried out. And most of the case can be completely cured and shows low recurrence. In these radicular cysts cases, by cyst enucleation or apicoectomy after root canal treatment simultaneously, the infected teeth can be preserved successfully.

As patients' esthetic expectations increase, there is an increase in demand for cosmetic restorations of anterior and posterior teeth that resemble the natural tooth morphology and color. An example of high-strength all-ceramic systems is zirconia with CAD/CAM application. This case report describes a full-mouth rehabilitation using zirconia all-ceramic crowns supported by upper and lower implants and by a minimal increase in the occlusal vertical dimension in a patient with severe abrasion due to loss of posterior teeth.
The biomechanical prognosis of conventional removable partial denture is questionable in case of patient with few remaining teeth or periodontally compromised teeth. In this case, hybrid telescopic double crown RPD may be a successful treatment alternative. Hybrid telescopic double crown RPD has following advantages over conventional RPD: secondary splinting effect between abutments, more vertical stress direction and more convenient in repairing the denture after extraction of abutment tooth. In this clinical case, patient had deep overbite in anteriors and partially edentulous. The maxilla was restored with hybrid telescopic double crown RPD and the mandible was restored with implants and fixed prostheses. Long-term follow-up and supportive periodontal treatment were performed, and satisfactory results were achieved in terms of function and aesthetics.
A proper vertical dimension and a harmonious occlusal plane are essential to satisfy a patient esthetically and functionally. A maxillomandibular occlusal vertical dimension is determined by the elevators which repeatedly contracts to a certain length, and a tooth location is determined by a maxillomandibular vertical dimension. The patient of this case came in with the incongruity of the lips and the occlusal plane. The result of clinical test showed the lack of length of the lower anterior due to the reduction of vertical dimension, the deep overbite of anterior, the excessive attrition of anterior, and the incongruity of occlusal plane. After the diagnostic wax-up, the temporary restoration was installed, and final prosthesis was installed after 6 months. As a result, the patient obtained a functionally and esthetically satisfying result.
Maxillary anterior teeth were intruded and lingually root torqued with two maxillary anterior microimplants between the lateral incisors and canines. Overerupted maxillary canines were intruded with two other microimplants between the maxillary canines and first premolars. Maxillary posterior teeth and canines were distalized, then the maxillary incisors were retracted with two maxillary posterior microimplants between the first and second molars. The mandibular anterior teeth were intruded and the mandibular posterior teeth were extruded with conventional method such as anterior bite plane, intrusion arch and Class II elastics. The mandible moved slightly forward after the correction of deep bite and retroclination of the upper incisors. Consequently, microimplant anchorage (MIA) provided absolute anchorage for simultaneous correction of Class II canine and molar relationships and deep overbite.

In children with Class III malocclusion, it is important to identify whether the etiology is functional, dental, skeletal. FR-III developed by Rolf Frankel in 1970, has been used during deciduous, mixed, and early permanent dentition to correct class III malocclusion characterized by maxillary skeletal retrusion. According Frankel, the vestibular shields and upper labial pads act to counteract the forces of the surrounding musculature that restrict forward maxillary development and cause a retrusion in maxillary tooth position. This can achieve favorable developments with the basal bone, teeth and alveolar bone. We report FR-III that can be applicated in cases of early mixed dentition with mild maxillary deficiency and deepbite before the eruption of permanent maxillary incisor.

Objectives: The purposes of this study were to estimate the effect of mandibular advancement device (MAD) and to evaluate the influence of the advancement amount of mandible in the application of MAD for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) patients. Methods: From the patients who were diagnosed as OSA by polysomnographic study at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital from January 2007 to February 2009, the patients who chose MAD as treatment option were included in this study. All the patients’ data including clinical records and polysomnographic studies (both pre- and post-treatment) were reviewed and analyzed. Results: Successful results were obtained in 65 patients of 86 patients (75.6%). In the follow-up period, mild discomfort of anterior teeth or temporomandibular joint (TMJ) were described in 28 patients, especially in the cases the amount of mandibular advancement were more than 7.0 mm. There was no direct relationship between the amount of mandibular advancement and clinical outcome. Conclusion: MAD was effective treatment option for the OSA patients regardless of severity. For the prevention of potential dental complications, the amount of mandibular advancement should be considered at the time of MAD treatment.
