This study attempted theoretical considerations for the formation and roles of international organizations. More specifically, the study examined experiential cases of IAEA's formation and roles, based on the points of realist and liberalist paradigms that show different viewpoints on the formation and roles of international organizations. The findings of this study show that many parts cannot be explained only with theoretical assumptions of liberalist paradigm, such as international organizations' functional merits, game rules, interdependent interests and role independence. Especially as seen in the formation and operation cases of IAEA, the formation of international organizations is mainly motivated by the security of vested rights among powers and their roles may be changed, depending on the mutual policy objectives of the countries concerned.. In this respect, international organizations do not seem to be strictly protected in independence or efficiency of their roles. Therefore, the liberalist hegemony stability theory is useful to explain the formation and roles of international organizations.

In this paper, I first examine Reiss'(2005) arguments for the causal instrumental variable. Second, I argue that the conditions for causal transitivity I consider meet what the causal instrumental variables and the interveners of the manipulation theory of causation are intended to hold. Reiss shows that two conditions for instrumental variables are not sufficient for causal significance of independent variables for dependent variables. Reiss articulates and reformulates the conditions for instrumental variables in terms of the conditions on causality, while naming his instrumental variables as causal instrumental variables. Reiss argues that the causal instrumental variables are similar to the interveners of the manipulation, or intervention theory of causation. He further argues that the causal instrumental variables do a better job the interveners do. I argue that the conditions for causal transitivity I consider meet the goal the conditions for the causal instrumental variables and the conditions for the interveners both are intended to achieve.

Li Zehou(李澤厚) regards Chuang-tzu's fatalism as a kind of pessimism and slavish conformism. The main issue of this paper is to opposes Li Zehou(李澤厚)'s view, and reveal that Chuang-tzu's fatalism is not the negative and slavish conformism but the true positivism of the fate. These Chuang-tzu's fatalism can be conceptualized as a 安之若命. When the human was faced with unavoidable fate, Chuang-tzu's 安之若命 is not pessimistically surrender itself to the fate such as a slave, but pleasantly accepts and affirms the fate. Now, the next three process proves that Chuang-tzu's 安之若命 affirms the fate.The attitude of 安之若命, First, takes the unavoidable(不得已) fate as it is. Second, it resolves a humane 'sadness and joy(哀樂)' through 'the forgetting(忘).' Third, it understands the life and death, the change of world, the human body as the stream of energy(氣). Fourth, in conclusion, it affirms the fate by these processes. These point of view can conceptualize as Chuang-tzu's Amor Fati. That is to say, Chuang-tzu' 安之若命 is not a pessimistic but a positive view of the fate.

Taxonomical evaluation of P. nuntia var. vallata and P. nuntia var. brevicirris Grube was checked. On the basis of the number of paragnaths and its arrangement pattern it is suggested that these two varieties are no longer valid, and they are synonym of Perinereis nuntia(Savigny, 1818).

Singham이 발표한 자료와 참석자들의 토의내용을 발표 이후 정리, 이를 요약문 형식으로 번역(의역)한 것이다. 이 글의 주요 논지는 경쟁당국의 지식재산권에 대한 전통적 관점에 대한 재고찰로서, 필자는 "지식재산권 보호가 반드시 경쟁정책에 반하는 것은 아니고, 오히려 지식재산권 보호가 경쟁을 촉진하는 효과를 가진다"는 점을 강조하고 있다. 저자는 자신의 논지를 설명하면서 의약산업의 예시를 상당부분 들고 있다. 이 글 중에는 국내 사정과 정서에 일부 부합하지 않는 내용도 있을 수 있지만, 국내외 경쟁정책에 대한 다양한 관점을 경험할 수 있다는 점에서 의미가 있다고 생각한다.

The purpose of this study is to explore and categorize the rhetorical strategies of text construction in research articles and to provide data for academic writing education for foreign graduate students. This study analyzes 30 research articles by Korean writers from Korean language and Korean language education fields, and categorizes the rhetorical strategies according to the roles of the writer as a RA form composer, a manager of research content, and a communicator. On the basis of the strategies, this study analyzes 18 term papers of foreign graduate students and inspects their weaknesses in using the rhetorical strategies. Based on the results of analysis, this study suggests rhetorical strategy education for KAP learners that emphasizes validity and clarifies argument along with attracting readers.

This paper pay attention to silent puppets which appear in the traditional puppet performance. Not only movement of silent puppets which are involved with expression of body of the mime, but also various methods overcome limits of the silent are studied in this paper. Through the study of performance method and historic unfolding aspects, I confirm two main points. First point is that overcome limits of the silent, through the diversity of performance aspects. Second point is that silent puppets have been existed since the early stage of history, and show typical unfolding aspects on their way. Combining two main points, We can say that silent puppets go through continuous unfolding aspects on their way and have meaning of existence. The meaning of existence are that silent puppets seek deviant desire which deviate from everyday life and transcendental desire which seek a freedom through an imagination or an idea. It is interesting that the reasons of existence are associated with the emphasis of necessity which is encouragement of audience's desire and imagination that are necessary of accomplish of mime. After all, silent puppets say that diverse attempts which overcome limits of the silent are accomplished with the performance aspects and historic unfolding aspects, and through that sought unusual communication. Through the performance methods and signification aspects, silent puppets say that diverse groping for which maximize of audience's imagination, stimulation of imagination for audience's spontaneousness, and diverse groping for audience mind performance have been performanced as well. I think that those are the voice of silent puppets for activity of mime in the korea.

Southeast Asian studies in Korea have been developing rapidly, thanks to strategic and collective efforts invested by the area specialists. Especially, political scientists' contribution as 'institution builders' were remarkable. Anthropologists' leadership as 'solidarity makers' between humanities and social science is now experimenting. In terms of quantity, contribution of geography to area studies is not satisfactory yet, though geography is regarded as a discipline inseparable with area studies. However, geographers as 'horizontal networkers' can contribute to area studies through conducting research in unexplored subject and connecting the human and the physical science.

As is well known, logical positivists held the theory-independent of observation thesis(TIOT). On the other hand, the theories following the logical positivism typically represented by Hanson and Kuhn denied that there was a clear borderline between observation and theory, and held the theory-ladenness of observation thesis(TLOT). In order to mediate those theses I shall suggest a natural epistemic attitude (NEA) to the relation between theory and observation on the basis of the experimentalism. First, I discuss theories of Hanson and Kuhn as examples of views which profess TLOT. Then, I make a brief introduction of experimentalism and some critical discussions about TLOT follow from a point of the experimentalism: TLOT faces considerable counter-examples such as cases, 'observation precedes theory' and 'the combination of wrong theory and right observation'. I introduce a distinction between the guiding theory and the target theory in experimental situations and illustrate that TLOT loses its alleged power if we consider the distinction. Lastly, I suggest NEA, as conclusion of the paper, which can mediate among TIOT, TLOT, and experimentalism and takes a minimal ontology.

Internal labor market in a firm is normally designed to solve the adverse-selection problem as well as the moral hazard problem in the world of information asymmetry. The internal labor market of a Korean university as a non-profit organization should have the same function as the firm. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the economic performances of a university's internal labor market, using confidential data. And I suggest how to improve the performances of a Korean university's interal labor market. Specifically, I suggest incentive pay for university professors. I also suggest eight job classification and job-related pay system for staffs and secretaries to enhance the efficiency of the university's internal labor market.
