  • Objective : The purpose of this study is to consider the change of hand function according to the quality of sleep and to find out a correlation among the quality of sleep and hand function, and sleep disturbing factors. Method : 23 patients who were hospitalized more than 6 months from Nov. 2017 to Jan. 2018 were tested for the quality of sleep used by sleep quality scale, for the grip strength used by a dynamometer, and for the coordination used by BBT and 9-Hole Peg test. The collected data were analyzed to implement the paired t-test and Pearson correlation coefficient. Result : In the high grade group of sleep score, the quality of sleep & BBT, and the grip strength & BBT have correlated each other; and in the medium group, only the latter has shown a correlation. In both groups, the quality of sleep and the sleep pattern have showed significant high correlation. Conclusion : When the elderly in geriatric hospitals show qualitative differences, BBT and the combination of treatment for the improvement of grip strength can improve the quality of sleep. And the sleep pattern intervention is considered to be effective to improve the quality of sleep.

  • This study is a narrative research study to understand the degree of awareness and practice of nursing college students' patients' health information protection and to grasp the relationship between them.. The subjects of this study were 122 nursing college students who experienced clinical practice in two nursing colleges in GwangJu city. Data collection was done from October 13 to 28, 2017. Using SPSS/WIN 21.0 Program, descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA and Pearson correlation analysis were performed. As a result of the study, the degree of awareness and practicability of patient' health information protection were 4.44(SD=0.44) and 4.28(SD=0.62), respectively. There was a difference in the awareness of health information protection when they were educated about patients' health information protection at school (t=5.094, p<.001) and hospital (t=2.028, p=.045) in the case of having experience in patients' health information protection in hospitals(t=2.551, p=.012). There was a significant positive(+)correlation between patient's health information protection perception and practicing degree, and the degree of health information protection practitioner's communication domain (r=.420, p<.001). There was a significant positive correlation with the domain (r=.368, p<.001) and the referral domain (r=.304, p=.001). Based on these results, we sought to protect the personal information of patients and to provide necessary basic data to develop for standardized education program.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of psychodrama on self - esteem, well - being, anxiety and depression among domestic violence victims who entered the shelter. This study is a similar experimental study of a single group pre-and post-design. Data were collected from 7 participants, pre - post - questionnaire surveys conducted ten times psychodrama, during the period from January 4 to February 26, 2015. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, Pearson correlation coefficient and Wilcoxon 's sign rank test using SPSS 22.0 program. As a result, the participants' self-esteem was negatively correlated with anxiety(r=-.866, p =.012), depression(r=-.824, p =.023). There was no statistically significant difference in self-esteem, well-being, and anxiety, depression between before and after the psychodrama, but there was an increase in post-score of self-esteem and well-being, and the post-score of anxiety and depression decreased. In order to improve the self-esteem and well-being and to reduce anxiety and depression in women victimized by domestic violence, long-term support programs are needed for the application of leisure and psychological support programs and continuous participation in psychodrama.

  • This study aims to identify the degree of job stress related to COVID-19, emotional labor, empowerment, and retention intention of nurses in hospitals dedicated to infectious diseases, and confirmed the effect of job stress related to COVID-19, emotional labor, and empowerment on retention intention. The data collection of this study was conducted from August 27, 2021 to September 17, 2021 through a structured questionnaire targeting 162 nurses at an infectious disease hospital in S city. The data were analyzed analyzed using frequency and percentage, mean and standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's Correlation Coefficient, and multiple linear regression using SPSS/WIN 25.0. As a result of analyzing differences according to general characteristics, retention intention showed a significant difference according to work department and work satisfaction. And as a result of analyzing the correlation between retention intention and COVID-19 related job stress, emotional labor, and empowerment, it showed a significant negative correlation (r=-0.215, p=0.006) with job stress related to COVID-19 and a significant positive correlation (r=0.343, p<0.001) with empowerment. As a result of multiple linear regression analysis, job satisfaction, job stress related to COVID-19, and empowerment were identified as significant variables affecting retention intention (F=23.751, p<0.001), and the explanatory power was 30.0%. Through the above results, we intend to provide basic data for strategic development for efficient nursing manpower management.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the standardization of daily average smartphone use time among adolescents. The data were analyzed using the data from Korea youth risk behavior web-based survey of 2017, and the total number of students analyzed was 54,603. Frequency analysis, independent t test, Pearson correlation analysis, and one-way ANOVA were used for statistical analysis. As a result, the correlation coefficient between smartphone use time, age, and grade was very low (r =.025~.039). There was no significant difference in the usage of smartphone between middle and high school students(p>.05). Time of smartphone use was significantly higher in middle school students as the grade increased(p<.05). In high school students, second-year students had significantly more smartphone usage than first and third grade students(p<.05). The researchers described 54603 adolescents' average(minute) daily smartphone usage about sex(male, female), period of use(weekday, weekend), school(middle school, high school), and grade(first, second, third) as a 7th quartile. We suggest that the standard value of smartphone use time can be used as a basis for the physical and mental health management in adolescents. It is necessary to present a standard value that can prove the future overuse of smartphone.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects for lifestyle, stress and life satisfaction on sleep quality in university students. The participants were 46 university students attending the department of occupational therapy. Participants responded to responses to the lifestyle questionnaire and Morning and Evening Questionnaire-Korean version(MEQ-K). The levels of stress and life satisfaction reported by participants were obtained using the Korean version of Perceive Stress Test-4(K-PSS-4) and Korean version of Satisfaction With Life Scale(K-SWLS). The quality of sleep was assessed using Korean Modified Leeds Evaluation Questionnaire(KMLSEQ). An independent t-test, Pearson correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were performed to investigate factors related to quality of sleep. The analysis of correlations between health status, morning type of chronotype, and life satisfaction showed a significant positive correlation between quality of sleep. As a result of analyzing the quality of sleep according to the chronotype, the main family house and dormitory group showed higher sleep quality than the boarding group. As a result of the multiple regression analysis, the chronotype predicts quality of sleep. This study could provide information to improve the quality of sleep for university students by identify factors affecting sleep for university students in occupational therapy.

The subject was 223 senior over 65 years old who lived in B Metropolitan City. Descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation and stepwise multiple regression were performed using SPSS WIN 14.0. The major findings of this study are as follow: 1) 34.1% of the respondents experienced a degree of sleep disorder and 57.8% were vulnerable to depression. 2) Activity of daily living, quality of sleep and depression were related to health related quality of life to a statistically significant degree. quality of sleep, activity of daily living positively related to health related quality of life. level of depression related to health related quality of life. Stepwise multiple regression analysis revealed the most powerful predictor of health related quality of life was depression. While age, level of education and quality of sleep were also found as significant predictor variables. Based on these results, it is necessary to perform more studies on health related quality of life and related factors according to that in various settings. Especially, to develop a program intended to improve the health related quality of life of the elderly at home, we need to consider not only physical factors but also psychological factors.
