  • 가스터빈엔진에서 고열부의 수명은 안전성 평가와 신뢰성 분석을 위하여 설계 시부터 면밀히 평가 되어야한다. 수명평가 과정에서는 구조 형상의 불확실성, 작용하중의 변동성, 재료물성의 분포 등으로 인해 계산된 수명 또한 불확실하게 되며, 불확실 인자들에 대한 수명의 강건성을 확보하기 위하여 신뢰성 평가가 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 고온, 고회전하는 가스터빈엔진 터빈의 피로균열 성장수명을 선형탄성파괴역학(LEFM)을 적용하여 계산하였으며, 1차 신뢰도법(FORM)과 몬테카를로 시뮬레이션기법을 사용하여 계산된 수명의 신뢰도를 평가하였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 CT시험편을 이용하여 소규모 항복조건하에서 하한계(near threshold)영역과 안전균열성장(제II)영역의 균열진전거동을 파악하고 피로균열 진전속도와 음향방출거동, 파단면 특성을 각각 비교, 고찰하여 각 파라미터간의 상관 관계 및 유용성을 검토하고자 한다.

  • This study aims to assess the effects of specimen thickness (ST) on fatigue crack growth in the early stages of crack propagation and near failure in magnesium alloys. The analysis of variance (ANOVA) method was adopted because fatigue crack propagation in magnesium alloys exhibits statistical behavior. The equality of variance test and residual diagnostics were performed on the grown cracks to confirm the validity of ANOVA by verifying the normal distribution and mutual independence of the residuals and their homoscedasticity. ANOVA confirmed that ST heavily impacts crack growth; i.e., when ST is smaller, cracks grow faster in the early crack propagation stage and break more quickly before the formation of larger cracks. We found that ST significantly affects fatigue crack growth in the early crack propagation stage and near the failure stage in magnesium alloys. The regression model was also used to predict crack formation near the failure stage.

플라즈마 용사코팅강재의 피로균열성장에 미치는 감화열처리의 영향 (Effect of Heat Treatment of Fatigue Crack Growth of Plasma-Sprayed Coating Steels)

  • This paper is to investigate the fatigue crack growth of plasma-sprayed coating steels according to heat treatments. The experimental materials are carbon steels(substrate: S45C) with plasma-sprayed coating layers of Ni-4.5%Al and $TiO_2$. The fatigue test is conducted on compact tension specimen by a servo-hydraulic fatigue testing machine. The specimens are heat-treated at $400^{\circ}C\;and\;800^{\circ}C$, respectively. Loading condition is a constant amplitude sinusoidal wave with a frequency of 10Hz and a load ratio of 0.1. The fatigue crack growth length is automatically measured by a compliance method. In the case of non-heat treated specimens, the fatigue crack growth rates of both substrate and coating specimen are almost same. The crack growth rates of substrates and coating steels by heat treatment are larger than those of the non-heat treated one, because the ductile property increase by heat treatment. In ${\Delta}K<18MPa{\cdot}m^{1/2}$, the crack growth rates of the heat-treated specimens are slightly taster than non-heat treated one. But the both heated and non-heated one are almost same in ${\Delta}K>18MPa{\cdot}m^{1/2}$.

  • The mesh-insensitive structural stress procedure by Dong is modified to apply to the welded joints with local thickness variation and inignorable shear/normal stresses along local discontinuity surface. In order to make use of the structural stress based K solution for fatigue correlation of welded joints, a proper crack growth model needs to be developed. There exist some significant discrepancies in inferring the slope or crack growth exponent in the conventional Paris law regime. Two-stage crack growth model was not considered since its applications are focused upon the fatigue behavior in welded joints in which the load ratio effects are considered negligible. In this paper, a two-stage crack growth law considering high mean loading is proposed and proven to be effective in unifying the so-called anomalous short crack growth data.

AZ31B 마그네슘합금의 피로균열성장에 미치는 응력비 및 이방성의 영향 (Effect of Stress Ratio and Anisotropy on Fatigue Crack Propagation Behavior of AZ31B Magnesium Alloy)

  • This study was to investigate the effects of stress ratio and anisotropy on Fatigue Crack Propagation(FCP) behavior of rolled magnesium alloy AZ31B. The experimental materials were a Mg-Al-Zn magnesium alloy. The FCP test was conducted on compact tension specimen by a servo-hydraulic fatigue testing machine in air at room temperature. Compact tension specimens were prepared from the extruded parallel and vertical rolling direction. The test condition was frequency of 10Hz and sinusoidal load stress ratios are 0.1 and 0.7. The FCP rates was automatically measured by a compliance method. In the case of the FCP of AZ31B, the FCP of both direction of LT and TL by anisotropy of specimens are almost same value. In lower stress ratio, the FCP of the LT, TL specimens are increased in lower ${\Delta}K$ region but higher ${\Delta}K$ regions are almost same value. Finally, the result of observed the surface crack, it expressed the quasi-cleavage fracture in lower ${\Delta}K$ region and straight mark on the aspect of the facet in high ${\Delta}K$ region.

SA-508 압력용기용 강에 대한 피로균열성장 하한계 조건의 실험 평가 (Experimental Evaluation of Fatigue Threshold for SA-508 Reactor Vessel Steel)

  • This paper is concerned with a particular fracture mechanics parameter ${\Delta}K_{th}$, known as the 'threshold stress intensity range', or 'fatigue threshold'. This threshold ${\Delta}K_{th}$ constitutes, as it were, a hinge between the notion of crack initiation and the notion of crack growth. It has often been thought that, like the endurance limit, it could be an intrinsic criterion of the material. The study was conducted on a SA-508 pressure vessel steel used in the nuclear power industry. This material exhibits a typical threshold effect in the range of the crack growth rates which were determined; that is, below approximately $da/dN=10^{-6}mm/cycle$, the slope of the da./dN versus ${\Delta}K$ curve is almost vertical. The value of ${\Delta}K_{th}$ was determined at a growth rate of $10^{-7}$ mm/cycle according to the ASTM Standard for threshold testing. The fatigue threshold values are in the range 21 $kg/mm^{3/2}$ to 12 $kg/mm^{3/2}$ depending on the stress ratio effect.

  • When a structure is made by the process of forging, it has the different mechanical properties from those it has before the process. This study is based on the crack closure phenomenon of the crack growth behavior of forged AI7050-T7452. The specimens were prepared in three kinds of forging ratio in order to find out the effects of crack closure on the forged material and compare the crack growth behavior with not-forged aluminum. COD method and strain gage method were used in measuring the crack closure stress and the results from those methods were compared each other. FEM analysis was applied to verify the effective stress intensity factor range by the superposition of the crack closure load to the crack tip. In the result of this study, the crack closure stress decreased with increasing the forging ratio due to the finer grain size and the brittle manner.

  • 본 연구에서는 이러한 점에도 역점을 두어서 초기 피로균열의 발생.거동을 관 찰하기 쉬운 연강을 선택하여 편진인장반복하중을 작용시켜, 연강 평골재의 표면상에 발생.성장하는 미소표면균열의 거동을 전자현미경과 광학현미경을 병용하여 표면과 파 단면을 입체적으로 조사하여, 피로균열의 초기발생상태를 조사하고, 그 성장율을 조사 하여 파괴역학적으로 해석하여 그 특성을 조사한다.
