A Study on the Pressure Change during the Pressurization to the Elevator Lobby (부속실 급기가압 시 압력특성 변화에 관한 연구)

  • This study investigated the pressure change in the fire room and elevator lobby during the air pressurization to the Elevator lobby with the various egress scenarios and the existence of vent holes in the fire room. The experiments revealed that pressure change was significantly affected by the open/closure scenarios of the front door and stairway door resulting in over pressure, under pressure and performance drop of the door closure. It also revealed that the required smoke defensive air velocity can be obtained only with the existence of vent holes in the fire room by the removal of back pressure in the fire room.

Primary Fire Behavior of Compounded Multiplex Theater with Various Fire Conditions (조합형 복합상영관에서의 화재조건에 따른 초기화재 거동해석)

  • This paper investigated the fire and smoke behavior in the compounded multiplex theater using FDS with various spacial and boundary conditions to ensure the fire safety of the multiplex. The results showed that more rapid temperature increase and smoke can be induced near the exit door for the lower fire load duo to the horizontal smoke movement. The overuse of fire resistants can generate more smoke while delaying combustion rate, which can give adverse effect to the evacuation. The mal-function of the exhaust fan would obstruct smoke exhaust but also retard the function of sprinkler head.

  • The stack effect in high-rise buildings is expected more significant at nights in winter due to the large temperature difference between the inside and outside of the buildings. However, the existence of large openings such as natural ventilators on the floor may effect the position of neutral plane, smoke spread at fire and thus obstruct the door openings for rescue. In this paper, the vertical and horizontal pressure distribution with different openings of natural smoke ventilators was experimentally analyzed by investigating pressure differentials.

  • This study aims at proposing a method to guide people to the most efficient route in an emergency through addressing the limitations of the existing research and providing a solution. Most of the existing intelligent guidance system tend to guide people to the shortest-distance path to the exit. A problem lies to the fact that the shortest-distance path doest not gurantee the most efficient way of evacuation. Rather than taking the shortest-distance path, this research proposes a way of taking the shortest-time path by introducing a real time loop sensor.

  • 화재 발생 시 연소확대 방지 및 이를 지연시켜 재실자의 피난시간을 확보하고자 실시하는 방염처리의 성능평가는 연소시험방법을 통해 잔염시간, 잔신시간, 탄화면적, 탄화길이가 일정기준에 적합하여야만 방염성능을 부여받게 되며 목재나 MDF와 같은 합판은 방염도료나 방염필름을 부착하여 사용하는 현장방염처리방법이 사용되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 시중에서 일반적으로 사용되고 있는 비방염 접착필름, 방염 필름, 방염 도료 등을 MDF 합판에 적용하여 방염처리 하였을 때의 연소특성 및 방염성능을 측정하였다.

  • The fact that the major cases of life casualties are from smoke in the fire accidents and the expected steep increase of skyscrapers, huge spaces, multiplexes and huge scaled underground spaces demand establishment of efficient smoke countermeasure. The field experiments on pressure differential systems for smoke management in two high buildings of 20 stories and 21 stories are carried out to evaluate the features of airflow through open door between accommodation and lobby. The procedures and results of experiments are presented.

Pressure Differentials in the Elevator Lobby Depending on the Reference Pressures of the Pressurizing Dampers (급기가압 댐퍼의 설정 기준압에 따른 부속실 차압 특성 연구)

  • This paper investigated pressure differentials in the elevator lobby depending on reference pressures of the pressurizing damper using FDS fire modeling. The results showed the temperatures and pressures in the contained fire room with small leak gaps can increase significantly. Setting reference pressure of the pressurizing dampers to 0 Pa can cause reduction of real pressure differentials and air velocity to resist smoke flow. This would cause smoke movement from fire room to elevator lobby which should be safe area for evacuation.

  • The trends in building construction these days are moving towards having better work spaces and greater suitability for the use of information technology. Therefore people can work in a more relaxed delightful and pleasant environment. Accident such as like fire could cause the mass destruction of human beings. This paper aims to evaluate the path of the spread of a fire and the suitability of fire fighting appliances for maximum egress time. General advanced phase of compartment. Aswell, we analyzed and verified the path of the flame in compartment fires. Also we conducted an analysis of the adaptation of sprinkler systems concerned with sprinkler RTI. Moreover those evaluation is made more earlier by the development and use of computer simulation program and rapid progress to apply PBFD (Performance Based Fire Design).

  • 최근 초고층 건축물에 대한 수요가 증가하고 있고, 더욱이 건설기술의 발전에 힘입어 초고층 복합빌딩의 계획과 건설이 더욱 증가하고 있는 추세이다. 이러한 초고층 복합빌딩에서 화재 등과 같은 재난이 발생할 경우 거주자의 대피 및 소방공무원의 화재진압 활동이 어려워 국가적 재난으로 확대될 위험이 있다. 그렇기 때문에 초고층 복합빌딩에서 발생하는 사고를 예방하거나 발생하는 사고의 피해를 최소화하는 등 재난관리를 통합적으로 하기 위한 방재정보센터의 운영이 무엇보다 중요시되고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 초고층 복합빌딩의 개념과 문제점에 분석하고, 방재정보센터의 특성 및 향후 방안을 고찰하였다.
