Improving Yield Strength of A694-F70 Flange Manufactured by Hot Forging Process (열간 단조 제품 A694-F70 플랜지의 항복강도 향상)

  • A welding neck flange is widely used for an interconnection between pipes. It is produced by a hot forging process, and required high yield strength under the high pressure condition, like a deep-sea. Generally, to increase yield strength, a increasing of carbon content is used, however a carbon content of welding neck flange is limited to 0.47. So, in this study, a strengthening by grain refinement without changing carbon content is used to increase yield strength. Taguchi method and FEM are used for the optimization of forging process and the experiment for the yield strength of the prototype with the optimal forging process is performed for validity.

Numerical Analysis of Inelastic Lateral Torsional Buckling Strength of HSB800 Steel Plate Girder with Monosymmetric Section (일축대칭단면 HSB800 강재 플레이트거더의 비탄성 횡비틂좌굴강도의 해석적 평가)

  • In this paper, lateral-torsional buckling(LTB) strength of HSB800 high strength steel plate girder with monosymmetric section under uniform moment was evaluated by nonlinear analysis. The unbraced length in inelastic LTB range was considered for the sections whose smaller or larger flange is in compression with slender, noncompact and compact web. Analyses of SM490 steel girders were first performed with the single-panel and three-panel model to judge the validity of the constructed models by comparing those results with Eurocode 3, AASHTO and AISC codes. By using the same models, LTB strength of HSB800 girder was evaluated and it was found that the sections whose smaller flange is in compression with noncompact flange-slender/noncompact web could not reach the flexural strength of the design codes.

  • The longitudinal stiffener performs its role to increase the local buckling strength by making simple support upon compression flange. In the recent researches, it is investigated that compression flange with point supports on certain arrangement reveals the same strength with longitudinal stiffeners. From this results, it is predictable that shear stud could perform the role of longitudinal stiffener if shear stud embedded in concrete satisfies the requirement to point-support under yield stress of the compression flange. In this study, the researches were performed to investigate the optimally required arrangement space of longitudinal point-support for which the shear stud replacing the longitudinal stiffeners and simultaneously determine the required numbers and space of shear stud for completely composite behavior between compression bottom flange and bottom concrete on the double composite girder system.

  • 본 연구는 온도 증가에 따른 압축을 받는 H형 강재의 플랜지와 웨브의 국부 및 전체좌굴응력 내화해석 프로그램 개발과 플랜지와 웨브가 항복파괴전에 국부좌굴이 일어나지 않을 한계 판폭두께비의 상관값을 구하는 프로그램을 개발하는 것이다. 고온에서의 강재의 응력-변형도 관계식은 EC3:Part 1.2를 근거로 하였으며, 비교, 검토를 위하여 영국 BS5950의 강재를 대상으로 온도 증가에 따른 압축을 받는 강재의 플랜지와 웨브의 파괴온도와 하중을 본 연구의 내화해석 프로그램으로 예측하였다. 본 연구는 좌굴 및 항복에 대한 내화해석 프로그램을 개발하는 것을 목적으로 하고 적용 예를 통하여 좌굴 및 한계 판폭두께비를 분석하고 개발 프로그램의 타당성을 검토하였다.

  • 헬리컬파일은 한 개 이상의 나선형 원판이 고강도 강관 파이프에 부착된 말뚝이다. 기존의 헬리컬파일은 커플러 형태의 연결방식을 사용하였으나, 볼트 구멍과 볼트사이의 유격 및 연결소켓과 강관 사이의 유격등으로 인한 높은 지지력 기대가 힘들었다. 본 연구는 헬리컬파일 연결방식 개선을 위해 기존 커플러형식에서 플랜지 형식을 적용하였고, 정재하시험을 통해 지지력을 비교 분석 하였다. 정재하시험결과 플랜지 형태의 연결방식이 커플러 형태의 연결방식보다 높은 지지력이 발휘되었고 플랜지형태 적용시 상향식그라우팅이 가능하여 품질이 향상되었다. 또한 연결부 유격을 방지 할 수 있었다.

Flexural Strength of HSB I-Girder Considering Inelastic Flange Local Buckling (압축플랜지 비탄성 국부좌굴을 고려한 HSB 플레이트거더의 휨강도)

  • The ultimate flexural strength of HSB I-girders, considering the effect of local bucking, was investigated through a series of nonlinear finite element analysis. The girders were selected such that the inelastic local flange buckling or the plastic yielding of compression flanges governs the flexural strength. Both homogeneous sections fabricated from HSB600 or HSB800 steel and hybrid sections with HSB800 flanges and SM570-TMC web were considered. In the FE analysis, the flanges and web were modeled using thin shell elements and initial imperfections and residual stresses were imposed on the FE model. An elasto-plastic strain hardening material was used for steels. After establishing the validity of present FE analysis by comparing FE results with test results published in the literature, the effects of initial imperfection and residual stress on the inelastic flange local buckling behavior were assessed. The ultimate flexural strengths of 60 I-girders with various compression flange slenderness were obtained by FE analysis and compared with those calculated from the KHBDC, AASHTO LRFD and Eurocode 3 provisions. Based on the comparison, the applicability of design equations in these specifications for the flexural strength of I-girder considering flange local buckling was evaluated.

A Review of the Deterioration and Damage of the Top Flange of the Highway PSC Box Girder Bridge based on the Condition Assessment Results (상태평가 결과 기반 고속도로 PSC Box 거더교 상부플랜지 열화·손상 실태 고찰)

  • Although PSCB girder bridges account for 4% of the bridges in use on highways, they do not account for much, but 98% of PSCB girder bridges are 1st type and 2nd type of bridge. Also, the total length of the PSCB girder bridge is 16% (192km) of the total length of the highway bridge. Thus, the PSCB girder bridge can be one of the bridge types where maintenance is important. In order to analyze the damage types of PSCB girder bridges, a detailed analysis was conducted by selecting 62 places (477 spans) precision safety diagnosis reports considering ratio of the construction method and snow removal environment exposure class. Analysis of report and a field investigation was conducted, and as a result, most of the causes of deterioration damage were caused by rainwater (salt water) flowing into the bridge pavement soaking in between the top flange and the interface. After concrete slab deteriorate occurred then bridge pavement cracking and breaking increased and exfoliation of concrete occurred by corrosion and expansion of the reinforcing bars occurred. In addition, the cause of cracks in the longitudinal direction on the bottom of the top flange is considered to be cracks caused by restrained drying shrinkage. In conclusion, for reasonable maintenance considering the characteristics of PSCB girder bridges, it should be suggested in the design aspect that restrained drying shrinkage crack on top flange. Also, it is believed that differentiated maintenance method should be proposed according to snow removal environment exposure class.

  • In most shipyards, the measurement of 3-dimensional relative position of pipes should be connected in the block depends on the manual operation. It results a very tedious and inefficient procedure, thus the proper measurement system is needed to improve productivity and accuracy. This paper describes the development of pipe measurement system including system concepts, measuring procedures, system calibration, and its accuracy and productivity. And also, the possibility and things to be improved for application in shipyard are discussed in this paper.

  • $\alpha$형과 $\beta$형 섬유조직의 압연 집합조직을 초기 집합조직으로 갖는 알루미늄 판재의 디프드로잉 공정시 집합조직 변화를 고찰하였다. 플랜지 변형 단계에서는 Bs성분은 감소하 였으며, Goss, Cu, P등의 성분들은 증가하였다. 컵의 윗쪽에서는 아랫쪽에 비하여 Goss, Cu 성분은 증가하고 P성분의 변화는 적었다. 이는 컵의 윗쪽에서는 플랜지에서 받은 평면변형 의 정도가 컵의 아랫쪽에 비하여 크기 때문이다. 실제 디프드로잉 공정에서의 변형량에서는 결정들이 안정방위로의 회전경로인 $\alpha$D형의 섬유와 $\beta$D형의 섬유로 이동하게 된다.

  • A machining processes for flange panel has been introduced. Contrary to the conventional methods like forming and welding, roll-seaming method has been utilized for better quality and less cost. Several measurement methods including digital image processing have been used to confirm the product quality assurance.
