  • This study was conducted to investigate the stress distribution in the prestressed concrete pavement (PSCP) when the transverse post tensioning was applied. By performing the structural analyses using a finite element model of PSCP, the effect of anchor spacing and the relationship between the longitudinal and transverse post tensioning were evaluated. The analysis results showed that as the anchor spacing became smaller, the stresses were more uniformly distributed and the ranges of the stress losses were reduced; however, the economy should be considered. As the anchor spacing became larger, the difference between the average transverse stress and the transverse stresses at various locations such as shoulder, wheel pass, and center of the slab, increased. The transverse post tensioning induced the additional tensile forces in the longitudinal tendons, but the magnitude was negligibly small, and the longitudinal and transverse post tensioning could be designed independently. The use of the transverse stress distribution for the design of the post tensioning was also discussed in this paper.

  • The pavement system constructed by tieing a number of precast concrete slabs employing prestressing techniques is called the precast prestressed concrete pavement. The behavior of this type of pavement system under post-tensioning was analyzed using a finite element model. First, the optimal number of anchors was determined by investigating the distribution of compressive stresses in the pavement system due to post-tensioning. Then, the effects of the parameters such as the horizontal resistance of underlying layers, the pavement length, the slab thickness, and the bearing area of the anchorage on the distribution of compressive stresses were analyzed. The horizontal resistance of underlying layers induced the loss of compressive stresses, and the loss increased in the middle of the pavement. As the pavement length increased or the slab thickness decreased, the stress loss due to the horizontal resistance of underlying layers became larger. However, the bearing area of the anchorage where the compressive forces were applied did not much affect the distribution of compressive stresses.

  • This study was conducted to develop the design methodology of transverse post-tensioning for the prestressed concrete pavement (PSCP). The transverse stress distribution was analyzed when the transverse anchor spacing changed. The tensile stress distribution in the PSCP slab due to the environmental and vehicle loads was also investigated. The reasonable methods were discussed to determine the design loads including environmental and vehicle loads and the PSCP allowable tensile stress used for the basis of the selection of the stress application amount from the tensioning. The results of this study showed that as the transverse anchor spacing increased, the range of the stress loss became larger and the stress loss was significant near the shoulder. The design of the transverse post-tensioning can be performed by obtaining the stresses under the design loads and by considering the allowable tensile stress; however, the tensile stresses at different locations such as the shoulder, wheel pass, and slab interior should also be checked and kept below the allowable tensile stress.

  • This research was conducted to analyze the behavior of PTCP (Post-Tensioned prestressed Concrete Pavement) under tensioning by performing field tests when the experimental PTCP slab was being constructed. The displacements in the slab under the environmental loading and tensioning were measured using temperature measurement sensors and displacement transducers. Tensioning was performed three times and appropriateness of tensioning could be determined by investigating the relationship between temperature and displacement, behavior of transverse crack, and daily change in displacement. The results of this study showed that under the first tensioning at very early age, large displacements were observed only near the joints because of the friction between slab and underlying layer and concrete inelasticity. Under consecutive tensioning, displacements were clearly observed all over the slab, but still affected by the friction. In addition, appropriate tensioning ensured the one-slab behavior of the PTCP slab even though cracks existed.

축대칭 PC탱크의 유한요소 해석

  • 이 논문의 목적은 축대칭 프리스트레스트 콘크리트 탱크의 시간의존성 유한요소해석법을 제안하는 것이다. 오늘날 PC구조물은 교량, 포장판, 해상구조물, 원자로 격납구조물, 대규모 액체저장용 탱크 등 여러 형태의 구조물에서 그 사용 예를 쉽게 찾아볼 수 있다. 특히 본 논문에서 고려하고자 하는 압력창기나 액체 저장용 탱크의 경우 유체압력 등의 내부압력에 의해 발생하는 균열은 프리 스트레스를 도입함으로써 매우 효과적으로 제어할 수 있기 때문에 상당히 유리한 구조형식이 된다. 그러니 이러한 구조물의 해석과 설계에 있어서 균열의 예측과 더불어 콘크리트의 크리이프, 건조수축 및 PC강재의 리락세이션 등과 같은 시간 의존성 변형으로 인한 프리스트래스의 손실, 여러 단계의 긴장력을 도입함으로써 발생하는 순간변형인 탄성단축 및 이로 인한 긴장력 감소 등을 정확히 계산하는 일은 매우 복잡하고 어려운 일이다. 본 논문에서는 크리이프, 건조수축 및 리락세이션 등과 같은 시간의존성 변형과 순차적으로 다단계의 프리스트레스 도입으로 인한 순간변형 및 탄성단축의 영향을 고려한 축대칭 PC 탱크 구조물의 시간에 따른 거동 및 긴장력의 변화를 유한요소법을 적용하여 해석할 수 있는 해법체계를 정리하고 이를 전산 프로그램화하여, 축대칭 PC탱크 구조물의 시간 의존성 거동에 대한 보다 정밀한 해석을 수행하였다.

  • Post-tensioned prestressed concrete members experience immediate prestress losses as well as time-dependent prestress losses such as creep, dry shrinkage and relaxation. In addition, the stress of the upper and lower parts of the member changes due to the change in dead load due to the replacement of the upper slab and/or pavement. Such changes in fiber stress may affect the safety of the member, and it is necessary to adjust the prestressing force. Therefore, in this study, a screw type of re-tensioning post-tension kit is proposed, and it is verified that the safety against load and the stability against strain are satisfied through the load transfer test specified in EAD160004 and KCI-PS101.
