  • In this paper, We set up the development methodology of communication protocols as well as the concrete design concept concerning for how to define and use the PDU, SDU, SAP, and service primitives using SDL, which is recommended by ITU-T, and other international standard languages such as ASN.l, MSC, and TTCN. This methodology covers the SDL design of extended lures protocol, a well known protocol example, insertion of ASN.1 message for transportation of bit string, generation of MSC for validation of design specification, generation of test cases using TTCN from validation, and performance of conformance test.

  • The thesis describes the realization and test of the transport layer operating on the CLNS (Connection Less Network Service) which is specified by ISO 8073 and ADDENDUM 2 protocol. For realization of the transport layer, five modules and interface primitives were definde. This protocol was formally described by SDL (Specification and Description Language) and was programmed in C-language. For verification of the software, protocol tester was implemented and test scenarios were defined. The verification was accomplished based on the test scenarios. Transport Layer software presented in this thesis may be utilized in a real situation with some modifications. Protocol tester presented in this thesis can also be used for verification of other protocol softwares.

A Shadow Culling Algorithm for Interactive Ray Tracing (대화형 광선 추적법을 위한 그림자 컬링 알고리즘)

  • We present a novel shadow culling algorithm for interactive ray tracing. Our approach exploits frame-to-frame coherence instead of preprocessing of building shadow data, so this algorithm is suitable for dynamic ray raying. In this algorithm, shadow processing results are stored to each primitive and used in the next frames. We also present a novel occlusion testing method. This method corrects potential shadow errors in our culling algorithm and requires low overhead. Experiment results show that our algorithm reduced both the traversal cost by 7-19 percent and the intersection cost by 9-24 percent.

  • The analysis of exotic style in domestic fashion brand items aims to offer the ideas necessary for the style and item developments and to analyze exotic images and styles accepted in domestic fashion market. Therefore this study analyzed the domestic fashion brand items and categorized the main exotic factors and styles so that would catch on to its characters and appearance frequency. As for the research method of this study, the frequency and content multi-dimensional analysis were used in the investigation of the exotic images appearing in the domestic fashion brands. The styles of exotic image in domestic fashion brand items are 'natural' style, 'primitive' style, 'ethnic' style, and 'maximalism' style. Also, the main exotic factors in each exotic style were composed of a few exotic images such as 'natural', 'primitive', 'ethnic', 'romantic', 'elegance', 'splendid', 'seductive', 'retro', 'traditional', 'classical', 'bohemian', 'vintage', 'kidult', 'artistic', 'extreme compromise', and 'modern'.

A Study on the Design of Synchronization Protocol for Multimedia Communication (멀티미디어 통신을 위한 동기 프로토콜의 설계에 관한 연구)

  • There is a synchronization function which deals with only single media of text in the OSI Session Layer. So new synchronization schem and synchronization protocol are required for multimedia communications which include audio, video and graphic as well as text information. In this paper, conceptional Multmedia Synchronization Layer(MS layer) environment is composed and its service primitives and protocols based on 'multi-channel, base media scheme' are designed and proposed for multimedia synchronization services. This MS layer Manager (MSM) establishes the MS layer connection to the peer MS layer and manages each media channel which is created in MS layer media by media. The MSM also finds the synch-position through the media frame number by utilizing it like the time stamp to provide inter-media synchronization services as well as intra-media synchronization services.

  • We are studying international standard about the software quality evaluation. The software quality has been more important on users and developers. In this paper, first, we study international tendency of the inside and outside of the country in software quality evaluation for evaluating the software quality objectively and quantitatively, Second, we notify a new direction for software quality standard of inside and outside of country. Third, we study on the testing method of software reliability for making use of the software reliability growth model. Fourth, we spread method about standard of the software quality evaluation, fifth, we research into the international standard ISO/IEC 9126 and ISO/IEC 25000 series for evaluation of software quality testing, and we propose to the application plan of software quality testing.

Motion Planning for Legged Robots Using Locomotion Primitives in the 3D Workspace (3차원 작업공간에서 보행 프리미티브를 이용한 다리형 로봇의 운동 계획)

  • This paper presents a motion planning strategy for legged robots using locomotion primitives in the complex 3D environments. First, we define configuration, motion primitives and locomotion primitives for legged robots. A hierarchical motion planning method based on a combination of 2.5 dimensional maps of the 3D workspace is proposed. A global navigation map is obtained using 2.5 dimensional maps such as an obstacle height map, a passage map, and a gradient map of obstacles to distinguish obstacles. A high-level path planner finds a global path from a 2D navigation map. A mid-level planner creates sub-goals that help the legged robot efficiently cope with various obstacles using only a small set of locomotion primitives that are useful for stable navigation of the robot. A local obstacle map that describes the edge or border of the obstacles is used to find the sub-goals along the global path. A low-level planner searches for a feasible sequence of locomotion primitives between sub-goals. We use heuristic algorithm in local motion planner. The proposed planning method is verified by both locomotion and soccer experiments on a small biped robot in a cluttered environment. Experiment results show an improvement in motion stability.

Ship Outfitting Design Data Exchange between CAD Systems Using Different Primitive Set (서로 다른 프리미티브 집합을 사용하는 CAD 시스템 사이에 선박 의장 설계 데이터의 교환)

  • Different CAD systems are used in ship outfitting design on different usage and purpose. Therefore, data exchanges between CAD systems are required from different formats. For data exchange, boundary representation standard formats such as IGES and ISO 10303 (STEP) are widely used. However, they present only B-rep representation. Because of different CAD systems have their own geometry format, data exchanges with design intend are difficult. Especially, Tribon and PDMS use primitives for express their geometry in ship outfitting design. However, Tribon primitives are represented their parameter by values that are non-parametric. Therefore, data size of catalogue library is bigger than different CAD system using parametric primitive representation. And that system has difficulty on data reprocessing. To solve that problem, we discuss about shape DB which contains design parameters of primitive for exchange Tribon primitives. And geometry data exchange between Tribon and Shape Database that defines based on PDMS scheme are specified using primitive mapping that can represent design intend.

  • 위성통신 시스템은 기존의 지상망이나 광 케이블 기술에 비해 통신 대역폭의 유연성과 다중 접속능력, 이동통신, 광역성, 멀티포인트 및 브로드캐스팅 등의 본래의 특징으로 인해 초고속정보통신망 구축에 중요한 역할을 하게 된다. 특히 OBP (On-Board Processing) 기술을 적용하면 기존 위성통신 탑재장치의 수동적인 중계 기능 이외에 복조/재변조, 부호/복호화 및 오류정정, 중계기 및 빔간의 상호 연결/절체 등의 새로운 기능이 추가되어 능동적인 중계를 가능하게 함으로써 통신 품질의 향상, 통신 링크의 전송 효율 개선, 전송 용량 증대 등의 장점을 갖고있다. OBP 탑재 위성 B-IDSN 중계망은 하나의 거대한 가상 ATM 교환기로 간주되고, 여러중계 지구국들중 목적 중계 지구국으로 패킷들을 직접 라우팅 할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 본 논문은 OBP 탑재 위성 B-ISDN 연동 프로토콜 연구를 수행하는 것으로서, 위성 B-ISDN 구조와 각 지구국별 신호 기능 및 B-IDSN 신호 시스템인 DSS2 계층 3 신호 프로토콜, B-ISUP 프로토콜, S-BISUP 프로토콜의 구조를 분석하였다. 또한 점-대-다지점을 위한 B-ISDN의 연결과 소유권 및 각각의 프로토콜에 대한 메시지와 프리미티브를 정의하여, 이를 토대로 OBP 탑재 위성 B-IDSN 연동 프로토콜의 기본 호 처리 절차를 설계 및 구현하고, 이를 테스트하였다.

Scalarization of HPF FORALL Construct (HPF FORALL 구조의 스칼라화(Scalarization))

  • Scalarization is a process that a parallel construct like an array statement of Fortran 90 or FORALL of HPF is converted into sequential loops that maintain the correct semantics. Most compilers of HPF, recognized as a standard data parallel language, convert a HPF program into a Fortran 77 program inserted message passing primitives. During scalariztion, a parallel construct FORALL should be translated into Fortran 77 DO loops maintaining the semantics of FORALL. In this paper, we propose a scalarization algorithm which converts a FORALL construct into a DO loop with improved performance. For this, we define and use a relation distance vector to keep necessary dependence informations. Then we evaluate execution times of the codes generated by our method and by PARADIGM compiler method for various array sizes.
