The Effect of Community-based Health Intervention Program to Improve Metabolic Disease in Jeju Island (제주 지역주민기반 대사성질환 개선 프로그램 중재 효과)

  • This study investigated the effect of community-based health intervention program to improve metabolic disease in Jeju island. There were 50 obese local residents in the experimental group (body mass index, $BMI{\geq}25kg/m^2$). They participated in cooking therapy with nutrition education (4 times), exercise program with proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) and stretching training (9 times), and alternative medicine program with healing touch massage (3 times) during a 3-week period. To evaluate the effectiveness of the program, body composition, blood lipid profiles, blood glucose, and waist circumference were assessed before and after the intervention program. After the program, the value of total cholesterol (TC), glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1C), diastolic blood pressure, percent body fat, and waist circumference were decreased, and became the normal value. Especially, HbA1C, percent body fat, and waist circumference were significantly decreased (P<0.001) in the experimental group, while HbA1C, percent body fat, and waist circumference were significantly increased (P<0.001) in the control group (N=50), who had no intervention. Our results suggest that metabolic syndrome associated markers need intervention program for improving them. In conclusion, although this study did not analyze the effect of the health intervention program and cooking therapy separately, considering the result of this 3-week, short term program, the effect will be more profuse if cooking therapy and exercise program were performed concurrently.

Effect of MgF2 Surface Modification for LiNi0.8Co0.15Al0.05O2 Cathode Material on Improving Electrochemical Characteristics (LiNi0.8Co0.15Al0.05O2 양극활물질의 전기화학적 특성 향상을 위한 MgF2 표면처리 효과)

  • Electrochemical characterization and thermal stability were investigated for MgF2 coated LiNi0.8Co0.15Al0.05O2 cathode. The ratio of MgF2 was controlled by 0.5, 1, 3 wt%. Cyclic voltammetry, charge-discharge profiles, rate capability, cycle life were measured for electrochemical properties. DSC analysis was measured for thermal stability. The first discharge capacities of MgF2 coated LiNi0.8Co0.15Al0.05O2 were decreased at 0.1C-rate compared to pristine LiNi0.8Co0.15Al0.05O2. But the rate capability and cycle life of MgF2 coated LiNi0.8Co0.15Al0.05O2 were improved at 2C-rate. In DSC analysis result, the exothermic temperature of MgF2 coated LiNi0.8Co0.15Al0.05O2 was increased and peak height was decreased.

3D face recognition based on radial basis function network (방사 기저 함수 신경망을 이용한 3차원 얼굴인식)

  • This paper describes a novel global shape (GS) feature based on radial basis function network (RBFN) and the extraction method of the proposed feature for 3D face recognition. RBFN is the weighted sum of RBfs, it well present the non-linearity of a facial shape using the linear combination of RBFs. It is the proposed facial feature that the weights of RBFN learned by the horizontal profiles of a face. RBFN based feature expresses the locality of the facial shape even if it is GS feature, and it reduces the feature complexity like existing global methods. And it also get the smoothing effect of the facial shape. Through the experiments, we get 94.7% using the proposed feature and hidden markov model (HMM) to match the features for 100 gallery set with those for 300 test set.

Variation of Critical Chloride Content of Rebar Embedded in Concrete with Admixture (혼화재 혼입에 따른 콘크리트에 매립된 철근의 부식 임계 염화물량의 변화)

  • The critical chloride content of rebar embedded in concrete was experimentally evaluated according to the admixture replacement ratio and admixture type. Four types of reinforced concrete were mixed OPC 100%, OPC 70% + GGBFS 30%, OPC 40% + GGBFS 60%, and OPC 40% + GGBFS 40% + FA 20%. NaCl solution was supplied to the specimens, and the open circuit potential of the embedded rebar was monitored. The specimens determined to initiate corrosion were cut at intervals of 5mm from the NaCl solution supply surface and conducted to chlorine ion profile. Corrosion initiation time of rebar embedded in concrete was delayed as the admixture replacement ratio increased. Looking at the critical chloride content of the types of reinforced concrete, it was highest in OPC 1.46kg/㎥, followed in order by S30 0.98kg/㎥, TBC 0.74kg/㎥, and S60 0.71kg/㎥.

Line Based Intra $16{\times}16$ Prediction in H.264/AVC for High Resolution Video Coding (고화질 비디오 부호화를 위한 H.264/AVC 라인 기반 인트라 $16{\times}16$ 예측 방법)

  • 기존의 H.264/AVC 비디오 표준은 고화질 비디오 부호화를 지원하지만 고해상도에 특화된 요소 기술이 도입되지 않아 만족할만한 성능을 보이지 못한다. 현존하는 동영상 압축 표준 중 가장 뛰어난 H.264/AVC 표준의 인트라 $16{\times}16$ 예측은 매크로블록에 인접한 최대 33개의 주변 화소를 이용하여 매크로블록에 속한 256개의 화소 값을 예측한다. 특히, 전체 예측 모드 중 수직과 수평 예측 모드에서는 16개의 수직 또는 수평 위치에 위치한 주변 화소로 전체 매크로블록 내의 화소 값을 예측하므로 매크로 블록의 끝으로 갈수록 예측의 정확도가 떨어져 부호화 비트가 증가한다. 고화질 영상에서는 인트라 $16{\times}16$ 모드로 부호화되는 블록이 많으므로 수행되므로 인트라 $16{\times}16$ 예측의 정확도를 높일 수 있는 기술이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 H.264/AVC의 예측 방법보다 예측 정확도가 높은 새로운 라인 기반 $16{\times}16$ 인트라 예측 방법을 제안한다. 일반적으로 편평한 특성을 보이는 인트라 $16{\times}16$ 블록이라도 좀 더 가까운 화소를 참조 화소로 사용하면 예측의 정확도를 높여 부호화 비트를 줄일 수 있다. 이를 이용하여 제안하는 알고리즘에서는 인트라 $16{\times}16$ 블록에서 16개 화소 한 줄을 단위로 예측 및 부호화를 수행한다. 1080p HD급 테스트 영상을 이용하여 실험한 결과, 기존의 H.264/AVC FRExt High 프로파일에 비해 평균 약 6.92%의 부호화 비트를 감소시킬 수 있음을 보였다.

Fabrication of electrical heating mold core and evaluation of injection-molded parts by various mold heating methods (전열을 이용한 금형가열코어의 제작 및 이를 이용한 성형품의 제조와 평가)

  • In this study we developed the electrical heating mold core by applying three different heating methods. In order to find out the optimal heating method, we observed the temperature profiles with time. We also injection-molded the parts by the heating methods and investigated the shrinkage ratio, density, surface roughness and weld-lines. The temperature rise time and cycle time showed the promising results for commercial applications(the rise time is $130^{\circ}C$/14sec, the cycle time is 55sec). By comparing with the conventional and gas flame heating method, the parts by this method were proven to have good qualities. The shrinkage ratio reduced by 5.1%, the density increase by 2.66%, the smoothness increased about 3 times, and the weld-line did not observed by naked eyes.

  • Reference white in color television receiver can be achieved by adjusting the RGB gun current ratio and it is necessary to provide additional gain ratio adjustment for the RGB video signal. Generally, the gun current density profile has a gaussian distribution and the gain-bandwidth product of RGB channel amplifieris constant. Therefore brightness and spatial resolution are changed with variations in reference white of receiver. In this paper, the effect of RGB gun current and channel gain ratios on brightness and resolution of CPT is analyzed. Brightness is increased with the color temperature of referenc white because of Helmholtz-kohlrausch effect. The change in ligh output is more abrupt and spatial resolution is improved with unity current ratio. For more bright and improved ressolution we also present the range of color temperature of reference white for P22 phosphors.

Database PasS web service system using Docker

  • Most of the students in computer-related departments work on projects, and it is essential to use a database for project execution. To use such a database, it is necessary to install a Database Management System. However, it takes several minutes (hours) to install a DBMS, and some DBMS require a difficult installation process. Therefore, in order to solve this problem, this study proposed a system that can easily install DBMS using Docker. Docker is an open source project that automates the deployment of Linux applications into software containers. Docker Container is wrapped in a complete file system that includes everything necessary for the execution of software, and includes code, runtime, system tools, system libraries, and anything that is installed on the server. This guarantees that they will always run the same regardless of the environment in which they are running. After creating a database using this proposed system, you can check the database access information on the web and check the server status in minutes. As a result of of implementing this proposed system and applying it to the projects of 10 teams, the installation time was reduced by 94.5% for Maria DBMS and 98.3% for Oracle DBMS than individual installation, confirming improved efficiency.

  • 통신 기술의 발달로 인하여 고정망 뿐만 아니라 이동망에서도 지능망 서비스를 제공하는 것이 중요하게 생각되고 이에 대한 많은 연구가 진행중이다. 이 논문은 이동망에서의 지능망 서비스를 효율적으로 제공하기 위한 네트워크 모델을 제안한다. 제안하는 모델에서는 MSC/SSP와 SCP/HLR 사이의 두 가지 신호 구조를 고려한다. 이러한 모델에서 지능망 서비스를 제공하는 것이 효율적임을 보이기 위하여 먼저 VLR을 사용한 지능망 서비스의 제공 방안을 제시한 후, 두 가지 모델에서의 지능망 서비스 관리에 관한 성능을 분석해 보고자 한다. 이러한 방법은 SCP에 저장된 지능망 서비스 프로파일들을 VLR로 다운로드 하여 사용자로부터의 지능망 서비스 요청시에 SCP로의 연결을 줄이는 것이다. 제시한 방법은 SCP/HLR의 부하를 감소시켜 지능망 서비스 관리면에서 IMT-2000 보다 훨씬 더 나은 성능을 보인다.Abstract As the communication technology has been developed, it is necessary to provide the IN service in the mobile network as well as the fixed network and many researches are in progress. In this paper we propose the network model to efficiently provide IN service in the mobile network. There are two signaling architectures between MSC/SSP and SCP/HLR. To show that it is efficient to provide the IN service in the proposed model, we propose IN service provision method using VLR and analyze the performance of IN service management in two architectures. These methods are to download the IN service profiles that are saved in SCP to VLR and to decrease the connection to SCP when the user requests the IN service. The proposed methods show that the load of SCP/HLR is decreased and our method is better than IMT-2000 in the aspect of IN service management.

Dry Etching of NiFe, NiFeCo, and Ta in Cl2/Ar Inductively Coupled Plasma (Cl2/Ar 유도 결합 플라즈마를 이용한 NiFe, NiFeCo, Ta의 건식식각)

  • Dry etching of NiFe, NiFeCo, and Ta for magnetic random access memory (MRAM) by inductively coupled plasmas (ICPs) of $Cl_2/Ar$ has been carried out. NiFe and NiFeCo showed maximum etch rates at a particular ICP source power, but the etch rate of Ta increased with the ICP source power. The etch rates of the magnetic thin films increased with the RF chuck power, but decreased with the operating pressure and the $Cl_2$ concentration. To avoid a corrosion problem by chlorine, the etched samples were rinsed with de-ionized water for 5 minutes after etching. The etch profile showed a clean and smooth surface at 50% $Cl_2$ concentration.
