  • The purpose of this study is to conceptualize the process of formation by the exploration of the lives of professional golfers who grow to excellent sports leaders, categorize the concept and suggest models between categories. In order to reveal in depth the change process of the job formation, the 'grounded approach' as a qualitative study was used as a the methodological frame of this study, and snow sampling, one of nonrandom sampling was used for the selection method of the study participants. 10 study participants who are able to make positive self-expression and talk with the researcher were selected. Through grounded approach appropriate for this process research, this study could acquire following results. First, through the casual condition that is the exploration of the lives of professional golfers growing to excellent sports leaders, it connected to the central phenomena of professional instruction methods and education belief as golf leaders. In this process, the changes as new experiences for the charm of the new job and relationship formation influence as the function of a contextual condition. In addition, golf leaders tried to become a more completed golf leader through self-efforts for development and expertise attainment according to the their own situations as well as belief, and they have established the lives of firm golf leaders through the process. Second, as a result of the changes of their lives as professional golfers growing to excellent sports leaders, the paradigm of grounded approach which is abstracted as total 141 concepts, 17 subcategories, and 11 superordinate categories were composed.

  • The purpose of this research is to analysis the swing of driver used by professional golfers during on-season. In order to collect on-season driver swings of research objects, which are three KPGA(Korean Professional Golfer Association) professional golfers, measurements were carried out right after the last game of a season. The analysis range was set to down-swing point while analysis was conducted to after-impact, release point. As a result, systematic process between leading segments of the previous precise kinematic analysis research seems to turn up the same. However, there were different results compared to the preceding research. All three testers expressed adduction of left hand which could not be described with forming cocking angle, in consequence, adduction of left hand does not have a big effect on formation of cocking. Moreover, chest movement right before the impact; which was emphasized in previous research, the direction was not opposite but the same with the ball.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference of kinematic factors acting in the body during a normal swing and a swing taken with an intention to increase driving distance by female pro golfers. Female pro golfers may increase driver clubhead speed and improve driving distance through maintaining a large X-factor angle during backswing and delaying the uncocking period by rapidly shifting the weight to the left foot during downswing.

  • This study was to investigate gender differences in muscle activities on tibialis anterior muscle, gastrocnemius and vastus medialis obliqus and outside and prime mover, antagonist and assistance mover during golf drive swing by electromyography. Ten healthy professional golfers (KPGA(n)=5, KLPGA(n)=5) volunteered in this experiment. All statistical analyses were performed using SPSS. Statistical differences were assess using t-test (p<.05). The conclusion of this study was as following. Muscle dislocation of differences, according to gender, was the highest in case of males in right side of gastrocnemius with the section from the address to the backswing of top and was the highest in case of females in tibialis anterior muscle. Results also show that prime mover was left side of low muscle in case of male with all the sections and situations and is right side low muscle in case of female. These results were significant differences. In case of males, it was though that primer mover was left side of tibialis anterior muscle with moving weight from backswing of top till the address section. In case of females, primer movers were right side of vastus medialis obliqus and tibialis anterior muscle with pushing action form the right knee to the left knee. Therefore, if they try to do the training be able to development right side of vastus medialis obliqus and tibialis anterior muscle in case of females and left side of vastus medialis obliqus and tibialis anterior muscle in case of males, it is consider that golfers' distance and direction will get better.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the optimum driver selection according to shaft intensity, shaft length and shaft weight that are determining factors of driver shot. To achieve the above purpose, the subject were participate with handicap zero 10 male pro golfer and mean score 90(handicap about 18) amateur 10 male golfer. The used club limited number 1 driver, we tested 24 driver which is shaft intensity, length, weight, total weight and swing weight. Dependent variable was strike ball speed, flying distance and head speed. The findings can be summarized as follows. First, There is a significantly difference in CPM. Ball speed, head speed and flying distance according to driver shaft intensity were found to be the best when CPM is 230<. Second, There is a significantly difference in shaft length. Ball speed, and head speed according to driver shaft length were found to be the best at 46 inch and flying distance were found to be the best at 45 inch. Third, There is not significantly difference in SW. Ball speed and flying distance according to driver shaft weight were found to be the best with 65g. In the case of head speed, it was the fastest with 50g shaft. Four, total variables were significantly difference between in pro and amateur golfer. In conclusion, there would be differences in individual physical condition but the best result was found with a driver of CPM 230<, shaft length 46inch, and shaft weight 65g.

  • The objective of this study is to help golfers to select adequate putters and to provide golfers basic scientific data for improving athletic performance by showing differences of kinematic variables according to the shape of putter head. In this research three right-handed male pro-golfer who are listed at KPGA were studied and three video camera (GR-HD1KR, JVC, Japan) were used and recording speed was 60 frame/sec during the research. In this study kinematic variables were calculated using Kwon3D XP program and analysed on the 4 events and 3 phases. This study showed the following results : (1) The swing of heel-toe putter showed longer time than that of face balanced putter, and there are statistical significant difference of kinematic variables of each objective (2) As of the trajectory of putter head, heel-toe putter showed more approximating curve trajectory than that of in-between, face balanced putter on the X-axis (3) heel-toe putter showed longer distance follow-through than that of other putters by statistically significant difference on the Y-axis (4) Heel-toe putter showed longer distance swing trajectory over the ground than that of other putters by statistically significant difference on the Z-axis.
