  • This paper proposes the technique to protect the privacy of those who uses Smart Tourism Service based on location. The proposed privacy protection technique (1) generates a shared private key, OTK(One Time Key) without information exchanging Users with a Tourism Server and provides Users and a Tourism Server with message confidentiality by encrypting data with the key, (2) concatenates users' ID, login time(timestamp), and randomly-generated nonce, generates OTK by hashing with a hash function, encrypts users' location information and query by using the operation of OTK and XOR and provides Users and a Tourism Server with message confidentiality by sending the encrypted result. (3) protects a message replay attack by adding OTK and timestamp. Therefore, this paper not only provides data confidentiality and users' privacy protection but also guarantees the safety of location information and behavior pattern data.

  • With side effects such as Phishing and Spam using personal information in Social Network Service, there is a growing need for studies related to harmful behaviors such as the reason for privacy violation. As such, this study assumed privacy violation to be ethical decision, making behavior and used the Theory of Planned Behavior and Motivation Theory, which are mostly used in social science to identify the factors affecting privacy violation. The results suggested that the Perceived Enjoyment and Punishment used in motivation studies affected privacy violation behaviors, and that the factors of the Theory of Planned Behavior such as Attitude toward Privacy Violation, Subjective Norms of Privacy Violation, and Perceived Behavioral Control with regard to Privacy Violation significantly influenced the Intention to Privacy Violation. On the other hand, Perceived Curiosity and Subjective Norms of Privacy Violation did not affect the Intention to Privacy Violation. Therefore, this study confirmed that the Theory of Planned Behavior was appropriate to explain the Intention to Privacy Violation, and that the variables of the Motivation Theory generally influenced the Attitude toward Privacy Violation. This study was significant since it extended the scope of theoretical privacy study from users and victims centered to inflictor and applied the Extended Theory of Planned Behavior using the variables of the Motivation Theory in the study of Intention to Privacy Violation. From the practical aspect, it provided the ground for privacy education based on the fact that the Attitude toward Privacy Violation can be curbed when education on the Privacy Concerns, Perceived Enjoyment, and Punishment with regard to privacy is strengthened. It also cited the need for the punishment of privacy violation and the practical ground to amend the terms and conditions of user license and Personal Information Protection Act to provide policy support.

  • In this paper, we examined the causes of privacy concerns and related factors in social log-in services. On the basis of the 'principal-agent theory,' we established factors such as perceived information asymmetry and fear of seller opportunism affecting information privacy concern of social log-in services users. In addition, we analyzed the relationship between the information privacy concern and intention to use on the basis of the 'privacy calculus theory'. The results of the study showed that (1) fear of seller opportunism had the significant effect on information privacy concerns, (2) information privacy concerns had the significant effect on perceived risk, (3) in accordance with the privacy calculus theory, perceived risk had the negative effect on intention to use, while perceived benefit had the positive effect on intention to use. The findings of the study are expected to help to improve the social log-in service firms' understanding for customers' information privacy protection behaviors.

On the basis of the 'elaboration likelihood model,' we established factors such as information quality, privacy policy, perceived SNS app popularity and optimism bias affecting information privacy concern of SNS users. In addition, we analyzed the relationship between information privacy concern, trust in SNS members, trust in SNS platform and intention to use. Finally, on the basis of the 'trust transfer theory', we analyzed the relationship between trust in SNS members and trust in SNS platform. The results of the study showed that (1) information quality, privacy policy and optimism bias had the significant effects on information privacy concerns, (2) perceived SNS app popularity didn't affect information privacy concerns, (3) information privacy concerns had the significant effects on trust in SNS platforms (4) in accordance with the trust transfer theory, trust in SNS members had the significant effect on trust in SNS platforms, and (5) trust in SNS members had the significant effect on intention to use, while trust in SNS platform didn't have the significant effect on intention to use. The findings of the study are expected to help to improve the SNS firms' understanding towards customers' information privacy protection behaviors and trust.

  • A library privacy policy describes the library's willingness to protect the library users' personal information, and also serves as a code of conduct for library staff. In recent years, cases of privacy invasion have been growing exponentially in society as a whole, including at the library, and therefore the establishment and application of a privacy policy is becoming more important. In this study, we try to develop and propose the optimal library privacy policy. For this purpose, we derived implications by analyzing the domestic and international privacy laws and guidelines, investigating invasion of privacy cases at home and abroad, and studying different library privacy policies from libraries around the world. The library privacy policy that we propose in this study was created to be a guideline for librarians when dealing with privacy issues and is library specific, diverging in many ways from privacy guidelines used in other fields.
