Analysis of Detection Method for the Weather Change in a Local Weather Radar (국지적 기상 레이다에서의 기상 변화 탐지 방법 분석)

  • Most of weather radar systems are used to monitor the whole weather situation for the very wide and medium-to-long range area. However, as the likelihood of occurrence of the local weather hazards is increased in recent days, it is very important to detect these wether phenomena with a local weather radar. For this purpose, it is necessary to detect the fast varying low altitude weather conditions and the effect of the ground surface clutter is more evident. Therefore, in this paper, the newly suggested method is explained and analyzed for detection of weather hazards such as the gust and wind shear using the fluctuation of wind velocities and the gradient of wind velocities among range cells. It is shown that the suggested method can be used efficiently in the future for faster detection of weather change through the simple algorithm implementation and also the effect of the ground clutter can be minimized in the detection procedure.

  • 본 논문에서는 송전철탑에 작용하는 설계하중으로서 [송전철탑 설계풍속에 관한 연구]에 근거하여 1987년 6월 제정된 지역별설계 풍하중기준의 개정을 위한 연구결과를 수록하였다. 당시 제정된 송전설계기준은 이전에 전국적으로 통일시켜 적용되던 풍속압($76kg/m^2$)을 지역별 풍속을 구분하여 그 차이에 따라 I, II, III, 지역 및 울릉도로 구분하여 차등 적용하였으며, 본 연구에서는 국내 기상청이 생긴 이래 2005년까지 누적된 기상 DB의 분석을 통하여 최근의 기상 현상을 반영한 보다 현실적인 설계기준 개정과정을 수록하였다. 본 논문에서는 1980년대 후반부터 약 20년간의 기상청의 풍향, 풍속자료를 추가로 확보하여 이를 분석하고 재현기간을 반영한 지역별 설계하중을 재산정하여 최근의 기상자료를 포함하여 보다 정확한 분석을 도모하고, 사회 환경의 급변함에 따라 우려되는 기상이변 등을 고려한 안전성과 경제성이 향상된 설계기준의 산정과정을 고찰하고자 한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 국가의 기간 에너지원인 전력망을 구성하는 구조물인 송전철탑의 설계하중에 가장 큰 요인으로 작용하는 기준풍속 산정을 위한 연구내용을 고찰하고자 한다. 현행의 송전용 지지물 설계 기준은 전기설비기술기준에 고시된 가공전선로 지지물에 관한 기준을 토대로 전력사의 실무적인 설계를 위하여 보다 구체화하여 작성된 한국전력공사 송전설계기준에 근거하고 있다. 이러한 기존 설계기준은 1985년 이전의 기상자료를 토대로 제정되어 본 논문에서는 1980년대 후반부터 약 20년간의 기상청의 풍향, 풍속자료를 추가로 확보하고 이를 분석하여 재현기간을 반영한 지역별 설계기준 풍속 Map을 제시하였다. 이러한 흐름으로 최근의 기상자료를 포함하여 보다 정확한 분석을 도모하고, 사회 환경의 급변함에 따라 우려되는 기상이변 등을 고려한 안전성과 경제성이 향상된 기준풍속 산정과정을 고찰하고, IEC 등 해외 주요국의 풍하중 설계기준에서 반영하고 있는 국부지형을 고려한 설계방법에 대한 국내 기준 적용성 평가를 위한 비교분석 결과를 소개하였다.

  • 파랑성분간의 비선형상호작용에 의한 에너지의 교환은 스펙트럼 파랑에너지 보존방정식의 중요한 원천항(source)의 하나이며 이의 정확한 계산에 관한 연구가 파랑모델에서 중요한 문제로서 제기되어 왔다. 그러나 비선형에너지 전달을 엄밀하게 계산하는데는 많은 시간이 소요되기 때문에 현재 현업에서는 스펙트럼파라메타로서 간략화한 식을 사용하고 있다. 비선형상호작용은 파랑이 발달하고 있는 풍역에서 중요하기 때문에 비대칭 스펙트럼에 대한 비선형상호작용의 파라메터화는 풍속이 급변하는 풍장에서 매우 중요하다. (중략)

Evaluation of Wind Speed Depending on Pulse Resolution of UHF Wind Profiler Radar (UHF 윈드프로파일러 레이더의 펄스 해상도에 따른 풍속의 정확성 평가)

  • The wind profilers operated by the Korea Meteorological Administration observe in a low mode for intensive observation of the low levels and a high mode for intensive observation of the high levels. The LAP-3000 wind profiler installed in Bukgangneung and Changwon is characterized by the same sampling frequency of the low mode and the high mode, allowing to compare winds observed in both modes at the same altitude. As a result of analyzing the wind speed of the two points for one year in 2020, the correlation between the two modes was up to 0.2 lower than the correlation with radiosonde. The T-test for the wind speed of the two modes showed a particularly significant difference in October, where the temperature and specific humidity fluctuate frequently. The difference in the development of the atmospheric boundary layer affects the accuracy of the wind speed depending on the observation mode.

  • High resolution windspeed profile measurements are needed in a weather radar to provide the reliable information of rapidly changing weather conditions. However, it is necessary to remove both stationary and moving clutter to obtain the accurate pulse pair estimates. To overcome these problems, a simple adaptive array antenna may be applied to clutter removal. Using the simulated weather and clutter data, the clutter cancellation capability is analyzed for a weather radar with an adaptive antenna. The pulse pair estimates obtained from the adaptive weather radar are compared with those of the raw data.

  • When the wind speed changes rapidly, the wind turbine is stopped for the safety of the power system and the mechanical system. At that moment, the wind turbine gearbox is damaged and broken due to the contact load of the gearbox. In addition, the problems such as increasing frictional heat and deteriorate of the brake occur, because the power of the blades is transmitted directly to the brakes. This paper proposes a hybrid magnetic gear shape that solves the problem caused by the contact of the mechanical gear, which is the power transmission device of the wind power generation system, and the power cutoff system. The shape of the hybrid magnetic gearsuitable for the wind power generation system is derived through the torque and loss analysis according to the shape of the hybrid magnetic gear by using the two dimensional finite analysis method.

Doppler Spectrum Estimation in a Low Elevation Weather Radar (저고도 기상 레이다에서의 도플러 스펙트럼 추정)

  • A weather radar system generally shows the weather phenomena related with rainfall and wind velocity. These systems are usually very helpful to monitor the relatively high altitude weather situation for the wide and long range area. However, since the weather hazards due to the strong hail and heavy rainfall occurring locally are observed frequently in recent days, it is important to detect these wether phenomena. For this purpose, it is necessary to detect the fast varying low altitude weather conditions. In this environment, the effect of surface clutter is more evident and the antenna dwell time is much shorter. Therefore, the conventional Doppler spectrum estimation method may cause serious problems. In this paper, the AR(autoregressive) Doppler spectrum estimation methods were applied to solve these problems and the results were analyzed. Applied methods show that improved Doppler spectra can be obtained comparing with the conventional FFT(Fast Fourier Transform) method.

Water Temperature Prediction Study Using Feature Extraction and Reconstruction based on LSTM-Autoencoder

  • In this paper, we propose a water temperature prediction method using feature extraction and reconstructed data based on LSTM-Autoencoder. We used multivariate time series data such as sea surface water temperature in the Naksan area of the East Sea where the cold water zone phenomenon occurred, and wind direction and wind speed that affect water temperature. Using the LSTM-Autoencoder model, we used three types of data: feature data extracted through dimensionality reduction of the original data combined with multivariate data of the original data, reconstructed data, and original data. The three types of data were trained by the LSTM model to predict sea surface water temperature and evaluated the accuracy. As a result, the sea surface water temperature prediction accuracy using feature extraction of LSTM-Autoencoder confirmed the best performance with MAE 0.3652, RMSE 0.5604, MAPE 3.309%. The result of this study are expected to be able to prevent damage from natural disasters by improving the prediction accuracy of sea surface temperature changes rapidly such as the cold water zone.
