The coflow effects on the flame stability of Heptane pool fire (헵탄 풀화재에서 화염안정성에 관한 주위류 효과)

  • 풀화재에서 화염화염진동은 주위공기와의 밀도차에 의한 부력효과에 기인하여 주로 발생한다. 본 연구는 풀화재의 화염불안정성에 대해 산화제 유속 및 농도 변화에 따른 효과를 검토하기 위하여 컵버너 실험을 수행하였다. 실험결과는 산화제의 농도를 변화시켰을 경우에는 산화제의 불활성기체의 농도가 증가할수록 청염의 길이가 길어지고 컵버너 끝단으로부터 부상되는 것이 관찰된다. 한편, 산화제의 유속이 증가함에 따른 진동주파수가 감소함을 보인다. 이는 무차원 변수로 표현되는 주파수와 부력의 관계로 도시하였을 때 다양한 속도스케일을 사용할 수 있었지만, 연료와 산화제의 유속차로 정의되는 특성속도인 경우에 정지되어 있는 공기중에서의 풀화재 진동과 일치하는 관계식을 얻을 수 있었다. 그리고 진동주파수는 산화제 희석율과는 특정한 관계를 보이지 않는데 이는 국부적 화염구조와 연관성을 가지기 때문으로 판단된다.

Voltage Oscillation Reduction Technique for Phase-Shift Full-Bridge Converter (위상 천이 풀-브릿지 컨버터를 위한 새로운 전압 진동 제거 기술)

  • Conventional phase shift full bridge (PSFB) converter has serious voltage oscillation problem across the secondary rectifier diodes, which would require the dissipate snubber circuit, thus degrades the overall efficiency. To overcome this problem a new simple voltage oscillation reduction technique (VORT) which effectively reduce the voltage oscillation of the secondary rectifier diodes for phase shift full bridge converter is proposed. Therefore, no dissipate snubber for rectifier diodes is needed. In addition, since it has wide zero voltage switching (ZVS) range, high efficiency can be achieved. Operational principle, analysis of voltage oscillation, and design consideration are presented compare with that of the conventional PSFB converter. To confirm the validity of the proposed VORT, experimental results from a 420W prototype are presented.

The Effects of Velocity and Concentration in the Oxidizer of Heptane Pool Fires on the Flame Stability (헵탄 풀화재 화염안정성에 관한 산화제 유속 및 농도 효과)

  • Flame flickering occurs mainly because of the buoyancy force for pool fires under ambient air. The cup-burner flame was used for experimental investigation of the effect of the oxidizer velocity on the gravitational instability. The results showed that the flickering frequency decreased with increasing oxidizer velocity. The frequency-buoyancy relation with nondimensional variables coincided with that of the buoyant flume and pool fires when the characteristic velocity was defined as the difference between the fuel and oxidizer velocities, which implies that the origin of the gravitational instability is the Kelvin-Helmholtz instability in the shear layer. The effect of the oxidizer composition on the instability was also examined through nitrogen dilution in the oxidizer stream. As the concentration of inert gas increased, the length of the blue flame increased and lift-off behavior was observed. The oscillation frequency was independent of the dilution ratio, but was related to the local flame structure.

A Study on Weld Pool Oscillation for Pool Geometry Measurement (완전용입 풀의 진동을 이용한 형상측정에 관한 연구)

  • Weld pool oscillation for the full-penetration GTA welding process was investigated for its possible application to weld penetration control through theoretical modeling and experiment. Energy method was used to estimate the natural frequency of the molten pool having the physically-acceptable weld geometry and oscillation modes. An unique experimental system was built which had the data acquisiton and video capabilities so that the pool oscillation signals and molten pool surfaces could be monitored continuously. Pool oscillation was detected through arc voltage and arc light emission simultaneously. The signal from arc light emission showed good coherence with that from arc voltage, and arc light generated the higher quality signal. The molten pool was found to oscillate in different oscillation modes based on the travel speed and weld geometry. The natural frequency estimated from the theoretical model agreed reasonably well with the experimental results.

  • 본 연구에서는 회전기계의 진동신호를 검출, 신호처리, 이상판별, 이상진단 및 경향 예측을 수행하는 이상진동진단 시스템을 개발하였다. 이 시스템의 특징은 GUI를 지원하고 풀다운 메뉴방식을 통한 일관된 환경을 제공하며, 키보드 사용이 거의 없이 마우스만으로 모든 처리가 가능하다. 또한 각 모듈을 하나의 통합환경 내에서 처리된다. 금후 이상진단부분을 보다 개선하여 정밀진단이 이루어지도록 확장하여 갈 예정이다.

Strength and Friction Behavior of Cement paste poured in the Bored Pile (매입말뚝의 시멘트풀 강도 및 마찰거동에 관한 연구)

  • The bored pile is widely used as a low noise and vibration piling method in Korea. However, there is design tendency to minimize the friction capacity of the bored pile because of uncertainty and the quality control specification is not set up. This research analysed the strength characteristics of cement paste after the uniaxial compression test with various condition. Test results show that the compressive strength of cement paste with w/c=0.83 was up to $156.0kgf/cm^2$, and the lower w/c ratio and the longer age, the strength of cement paste increased. Also the higher soil mixing ratio, the strength of soil cement decreased, and too high soil mixing ratio caused the malfuction of soil cement. Also this research analysed the 188 dynamic pile test results which were performed before and after hardening of cement paste. Analysis result showed that the average ultimate unit friction capacity was $9.1tf/m^2$ and this result surpassed the common design criteria of the bored pile.

  • Augmentation of CHF by ultrasonic vibration in water pool is experimentally investigated under pool boiling condition. The experiments are carried out using copper coated plates and distilled water. Measurements of CHF on flat plate heated surface were made with and without ultrasonic wave and with variations in inclined angle of the surface and water subcooling. Experimental apparatus consists of a bath, power supply, test section, ultrasonic generator, and data acquisition system. The measurements show that ultrasonic wave enhances CHF and its extent is dependent upon inclination angle as well as water subcooling. The rate of increase in CHF increases with an increase in water subcooling while it decreases with an increase in inclination angle. Visual observation shows that the cause of CHF augmentation is closely related with the dynamic behavior of bubble generation and departure in acoustic field.

  • 본 논문에서는 주기 비안정 연속계의 해석을 위한 주파수 방법이 제안된다. 비안정시스템의 안정화를 위한 기존의 주파수 해석법을 일부 수정하여 연속계를 포함한 비안정 시스템에 적합하도록 수정하였으며, 직류모터와 동기발전기로 구성되어 있는 전기-기계 시스템에 적용하여 유용성을 보였다. 복잡한 비안정 연속계의 문제를 각 요소별 주파수 응답을 분리하고 조합하는 작업들을 통하여 쉽게 풀 수 있음을 보였다. 모터-발전기로 구성되어있는 전기-기계 시스템에서 발전기의 상호유도인덕턴스의 시간에 따른 주기적 변화와 장선(long electrical line)의 부하가 시스템의 불안정성을 야기함을 보였다.

  • In the vibration analysis or submerged of floating bodies such as ship and offshore structures, the coupled system between structure and fluid satisfying the compatibility conditions on the wetted surface should be considered. It is well known that the hydroelastic analysis of structural vibration in contact with fluid can be solved by applying the finite element method to structure and the boundary element method to fluid domain. However such an approach is impractical, because fluid added mass matrix is fully coupled on whole wetted surface. To overcome this shortcoming, an efficient approach based on reanalysis scheme is proposed in this paper. The proposed method can be applied for cases with higher modes lacking 3-D reduction factor J as well as beam-like modes of marine structures. It is well known the traditional method using 2-D added mass and J-factor is good only for beam-like modes with reliable J values. The validity and the calculation efficiency of the proposed method are proved with numerical examples.
