A method of the region extraction and recognition of a speed sign in the real road environment is proposed. The region of speed sign is extracted by using color information and then numbers are segmented in the region. We improve the recognition rate by performing an incline compensation of the speed sign for directions clockwise and counterclockwise. In image sequences of the real road environment, a robust recognition results are achieved with speed signs at normal condition as well as inclined.

해양수산부 소속의 한빛호는 국내 유일의 부표정비와 항로표지 측정업무를 수행하는 항로표지 업무용 선박이다. 이 선박으로 연중 국내의 400mm 이상 중, 대형등명기의 광도값을 측정하여 분석평가하는 광파측정업무를 수행하고 있으나, 광파측정 시 환경적, 물리적, 제도적인 어려움으로 인하여 정기검사 수검에 어려움이 발생하고 있다. 이 방안에서는 그런 여러 가지 문제점을 해결할 수 있는 육상측정을 기본으로 효율적이고 안전하며 예산 또한 절감할 수 있는 방안들을 제시하고자 한다.

등부표는 태양광발전을 이용한 독립형 전력계통시스템으로 일사량과 표면온도에 의한 태양광 발전효율 저하에 따른 등명기 소등 또는 광력 미약으로 항로표지에 대한 신뢰성 확보에 대한 문제점이 발생하고 있다. 일부 항로표지용 고효율 충방전조절기 제품이 개발되고 있으나 "항로표지 장비 용품 표준화 규정"의 항로표지용 충방전조절기 표준규격(제3조3호)이 제정고시 되어 충방전조절기의 기능 및 성능개선을 추진할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 개정된 충방전조절기의 표준규격의 성능을 만족하고 상용화가 가능한 구조기술을 개발하였다.

항로표지 관련기업은 장비 및 유지보수 기업 중심으로 구성되어져 있었으나, 최근 스마트 항로표지 현장시설 고도화 R&D 추진에 따라 항로표지의 핵심장치라고 볼 수 있는 전원시스템과 통신단말 개발 기업이 참여하고 있으며, 이 두 기업들의 향후 R&D 종료 시점에 개발 제품이 최종 상용화되어 판매될 수 있도록 다양한 형태의 비즈니스 모델 발굴 추진이 필요하다. 동 연구에서는 참여기업의 성장과 신사업 추진이 가능하도록 개발 제품 및 서비스에 대한 수요 시장의 요구와 제공 가능한 수준의 단계에서부터 전략계획 및 목표관리, 비용관리 및 시스템과 같은 툴을 활용하여 체계적이고 구체적인 접근이 가능할 수 있도록 다양하게 고려하여 B2G, B2B까지 발굴에 대해 연구해보고자 한다.

Road signs are part of the traffic facilities intended to guide drivers to their destinations in a safe and comfortable manner. Due to the creation of new routes, changes to the old routes, and the deterioration of road signs, road signs do require efforts to do ongoing field investigations and put the results in a database. The purpose of this study was to propose methodologies to do field investigations and build a database for road signs efficiently. For that purpose, a mobile mapping system was designed for field investigations. The designed mobile mapping system was comprised of three cameras to produce image information about road signs, GPS/IMU/DMI to obtain information about the position and attitude of a vehicle, and a laser scanner to generate information about the locations of road signs and routes. Also proposed in the study was a procedure to automatically detect the areas of road signs in the road signs images and recognize their characters.

Wayfinding is a 'Process solving problem to find destination', and it is important to select spatial data for optimal way. Recently, due to the complexity of space and the expansion of the medium of the wayfinding service, it is necessary to the approach on the information design for them. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to propose a meta guideline on the information design for the design of orientation sign, which is an important cognitive clue in the wayfinding. It was conducted in 3 stages, First, a design process was proposed and design elements were derived for each step by literature research related to information and sign design, and analysis of manual for signage design. Second, a meta guideline for information organization and visualization in the three-stage design process was proposed by FGI and analysis. Third, the meta guideline was applied to the sign design on an area for user evaluation to inspect the applicability of the meta guideline. Through the user questionnaire, the possibility of applying the guideline for visualization of directions and spaces, information hierarchy according to spatial characteristics and information priority was identified. It is meaningful in that necessary element for signage design are systematized centering on the process and that it presents a macroscopic methodology according to spatial characteristics.

Aids to Navigation (AtoN) is a marine traffic safety facility used to facilitate the safe and efficient movement of shipping and enhance the protection of the marine environment by the regulations or guidelines of The International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities (IALA). Our country is managing AtoN to provide consistent services for AtoN users, although an average of 141 AtoN accidents occur annually. An AtoN accident forces non-planned work on the managers to resort the function, and causes psychological anxiety for its users, ultimately resulting in economic losses. This study developed the Social Cost evaluation model of AtoN accidents. The model can be used to quantify the manager's economic activities related to the shutdown and recovery, as well as the cost associated with the inconvenience to AtoN users. The Social Cost evaluation model of AtoN accidents is proposed as the sum of the encounter cost, administration cost and risk cost.

A new technique involving gamma-spectrometry was used to determine the effects of pollination on mineral uptake in petals, ovaries and leaves of tulips and daffodils. A gamma-emitting radionu'::lide solution containing selenium-75, cesium-137, manganese-54, and zinc-65 was applied to the roots of tulips and daffodils growing in water. Mineral uptake was monitored in plant parts over a 24 day period. Pollinated tulip flowers showed a rapid withdrawal of minerals from the petals and an increase in ovary mineral content, while such a source-sink relationship was not established in daffodils. In both species, the concentration of most minerals in petals and ovaries declined prior to abortion of the plant part. The roots and bulbs of the plants contained the vast majority of the labeled minerals. This study demonstrated a possibility that certain plant parts could be isolated and monitored for mineral uptake over time without destruction.uction.

The praying sentences of the script of Saddharmapundarika-sutra NO.5 which was made by prayer Bang-Ui, prince Ik-An, was investigated and the cover painting, Byonsangwha(Buddha's preaching painting), and letter style written in the script were discussed in this study. The cover painting on the script is known to be followed to the style of the cover painting as shown in a set of 7 rolls of Saddharma pundarika-sutra of the Horim Museum collection. It is not so difficult to say that the characteristics of cover painting of the script would be suceeded to those of scripts of the end of Koryo and the early Choseon Dynasty. Lotus and its surround was decorated with arabesque figure whose stems were drawn with golden paste and the arabesque figures were done with silver paste. However, for the expression of lotus and arabesque pattern the special feature of drawing style that was originated from the end of Koryo Dynasty to draw the outline with broad line and/or the hardness of drawing line became much more deepened than ever. It is not different to think that this characteristics should be those of Choseon Dynasty. On the Byeonsangwha(buddha's preaching painting) the painting of scattered flowers on stairs of Sumera-Mandala and the scheduled clouds (underseen from heaven) were as similar as to the Byeonsangwha style of the end of Koryo and the early Choseon Dynasty. However, the image of Shakyamuni and/or the halo(光背) is nearly same as the characteristics shown on the Beonsangwha of Saddharma pundarika-sutra of Nesosa' collection, a set of seven rolls which was completed in the 15th year of king Taejong(AD 1415). It is apparent that these characteristics are those of Choseon Dynasty. After king Chungsean in Koryo Dynasty, letter style of Chao Meng-Fu was shown in the script of late Koryo Dynasty as a new letter style.
