An Exploratory Study on Forecasting Sales Take-off Timing for Products in Multiple Markets (해외 복수 시장 진출 기업의 제품 매출 이륙 시점 예측 모형에 관한 연구)

  • The objective of our study is to provide an exploratory model for forecasting sales take-off timing of a product in the context of multi-national markets. We evaluated the usefulness of key predictors such as multiple market information, product attributes, price, and sales for the forecasting of sales take-off timing by applying the suggested model to monthly sales data for PDP and LCD TV provided by a Korean electronics manufacturer. We have found some important results for global companies from the empirical analysis. Firstly, innovation coefficients obtained from sales data of a particular product in other markets can provide the most useful information on sales take-off timing of the product in a target market. However, imitation coefficients obtained from the sales data of a particular product in the target market and other markets are not useful for sales take-off timing of the product in the target market. Secondly, price and product attributes significantly influence on take-off timing. It is noteworthy that the ratio of the price of the target product to the average price of the market is more important than the price ofthe target product itself. Lastly, the cumulative sales of the product are still useful for the prediction of sales take-off timing. Our model outperformed the average model in terms of hit-rate.

  • In this paper, we present a tracking accuracy enhancement method by compensating the time delay of the video tracker in an EOTS. The proposed method has two functional parts, which can cope with the time delay of LOS and maneuvering target informations by Smith predictor and Kalman filter. So it can dramatically reduce the tracking error over conventional PI control or Smith predictor control. To verify the proposed method, various and extensive simulation and experimental results are given.

  • Scalar quantification of the angular prediction error covariance matrix is considered for characterizing tracking performances in phased array radar tracking. Specifically, the maximum eigenvalue and the trace of the covariance matrix are examined in terms of consistency in parameterizing the probability of detection, taking antenna beam-pointing losses into account, and it is shown numerically that the latter is more consistent.

  • Until now it has had the limitation of the target in the US JMEM to calculate the Pk with the existing method by our study. In this study, we focused on deriving a method to calculate the Pk of the actual targets except JMEM targets using ANN. We study the initial predictive model of ANN(Artificial Neural Network) from the targets data of the specification and the vulnerable area in the US JMEM(Joint Munitions Effectiveness Manuals), and calculate the actual targets vulnerable area by using this method. Finally, we propose a method to calculate the Pk by applying those data to the existing method of us.

  • This paper describes the tracking filter performance for Naval Gun Ballistic Computation Unit(BCU). BCU needs tracing filter for gun firing. Using data of tracking sensor, BCU calculates the future position of Target and Gun order in the time of flight. In this paper, tracing filter is designed with interacting multiple model(IMM). The tracking algorithm based on the IMM requirers a considerable number of sub-model for the various maneuvering target in order to have a good performance. But, in the case of ship target, the maneuvering is restricted compared with the air target. Considering the maneuvering properties and adjusting the mode transition probabilities and the process noise of sub-model, We designed the IMM3 algorithm for Naval tracking filter with three sub-model.

  • 수중음향표적 특히 선박방사소음을 탐지하거나 식별하는 군사적 목적의 수동소나는 수중청음기 배열로 구성되며 각 배열센서에 수신된 신호에 배열 신호처리기술을 적용하여 선박의 거리, 방위 탐지는 물론 선박의 음향적 특징을 식별하는 고도의 음향장치이다. 그러나 이러한 장치운용자의 선박탐지, 식별이나 새로운 수동소나 개발, 나아가 스텔스 능력의 선박 설계를 위해서는 선박방사소음의 측정, 분석 및 예측에 관한 이해가 선행되어야 할 것이다. 본 연구는 대표적인 선박방사소음 측정시스템의 소개, 방사소음발생기구, 측정자료의 분석 및 예측에 관한 기초기술을 연구 분석한 내용이다.

  • In this paper. we predict tracking performance of the probabilistic strongest neighbor filter (PSNF). The PSNF is known to be consistent and superior to the probabilistic data association filter (PDAF) in both performance and computation. The PSNF takes into account the probability that the measurement with the strongest intensity in the neighborhood of the predicted target measurement location is not target-originated. The tracking performance of the PSNF is quantified in terms of its estimation error covariance matrix. The estimation error covariance matrix is approximately evaluated by using the hybrid conditional average approach (HYCA). We performed numerical experiments to show the validity of our performance prediction.

  • Measurement noise variance of the radar is one of the main inputs of a state estimator of surveillance data processing system for air traffic control and has influences on the accuracy performance of maneuvering target tracking. A method is presented of estimating measurement noise variances every frame of target tracking using likelihood functions of multiple IMM filter. The results by running of Monte Carlo simulation show that variances are estimated within 5% of errors compared with true values and the tracking accuracy performance is improved.
