The Study on Characteristics of Manganese Phosphate Coating by Particle Size of Surface Treatment Agent (표면조정제 입자 사이즈에 따른 인산망간 피막 특성에 관한 연구)

  • 인산-망간 화성피막의 경우 양질의 피막층을 형성하기 위하여 표면조정제를 사용하고 있으며, 화성피막 직전에 표면 조정제 처리를 하여 피막 결정의 미세, 치밀, 균일하게 하는 동시에 피막의 화성시간을 단축하고 있다. 본 연구는 표면조정제의 입자 사이즈에 따른 화성피막 입자 사이즈 변화 및 물리적인 특성 향상을 확인하였다. 하지금속 소재로는 기계구조용 탄소강재(SM45C)을 $50{\times}50{\times}3mm$로 제작하였고, 전처리 공정으로는 탈지 ${\rightarrow}$ 에칭 ${\rightarrow}$ 디스머트 후 표면조정제 입자 사이즈별로 표면조정 후, 화성피막 처리를 하였으며 각 조건에 따른 피막 층의 미세조직은 SEM을 사용하여 관찰하였고, 윤활성은 내마모시험기(Ball on disc)를 사용하여 마찰계수 측정을 통해 확인하였으며, 내식성은 5% NaCl 염수분무를 실시하여 적청 발생 면적으로 측정하였다. 표면조정제의 입자 사이즈는 4종류로 세분화하여 표면조정 후 화성피막 처리하였으며, 표면조정제의 입자 사이즈를 미세화함에 따라 화성피막의 입자 사이즈가 미세, 균일해지고 피막의 치밀도가 향상됨을 확인할 수 있었다. 표면조정제의 미분화는 소재 표면에 작고 치밀한 결정(활성점)을 만들며, 표면조정제의 입자 사이즈가 작아질수록 이러한 활성점의 크기가 미세해지고 화성피막의 입자 사이즈 또한 미세화 시키는 역할을 하는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다. 이처럼 표면 조정제의 입자 사이즈에 따른 화성피막 입자 사이즈 및 물성변화는 SEM, 내마모시험 및 내식성 시험을 통하여 확인할 수 있었다. 즉, 표면조정제의 입자 사이즈가 미세해질수록, 화성피막의 입자사이즈가 미세화되었고, 윤활성 및 내식성이 향상되는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다.

Effect of Surfactant and Anti-foaming Agent on the Properties of Silicone Rubber Impression Material (계면활성제와 소포제가 실리콘 고무인상재의 물성에 미치는 영향)

  • The three types of surfactants such as nonylphenoxy poly(ethylene) ethanol homologues, caster oil poly(ethylene) ethanol homologues, and sodium perfluoroalkyl carboxylates are used to improve the wettability of rubber impression material. Among the surfactants, the usage of sodium perfluoroalkyl carboxylates containing fluoro group resulted in the lowest surface energy of impression material and the result gave the positive effect on the wettability of rubber impression material to teeth. Also, the anti-foaming agents were used to reduce or remove the hydrogen gas generating on the impression material by reaction. In the case of rubber impression material containing sodium perfluoroalkyl carboxylate as a surfactant, it was found that the tear strength of rubber impression material increased over 3 N/mm with the addition of anti-forming agent. Therefore, the anti-foaming agent could contribute to the mechanical property of rubber impression material without the change of surface property.

Synthesis and Properties of Glycolic Acid Ester Type Cationic Surfactant (글리콜산 에스테르계 양이온 계면활성제의 합성 및 물성)

  • A cationic ester type surfactant, namely N-2-hydroxy-3-(2-hydroxyacetoxy) proply-N,N-dimethyldodecylaminium chloride(HPDA) was synthesized and confirmed by FT-IR and $^1H$-NMR spectroscopy. Surface tensions on the diluted aqueous solutions of the synthetic compounds were measured and evaluated critical micelle concentration. Surface tension was 33~34 dyne/cm in the range of $10^{-3}{\sim}10^{-2}mol/L$ and critical micelle concentration(c.m.c) value was $8.5{\times}10^{-3}mol/L$ by surface tension method. Emulsifying properties of the synthetic surfactant(HPDA) and Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), tetradecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (TTAB) was tested. As a results, synthetic glycolic acid ester type compounds(HPDA) has been confirmed as a good emulsifier. The foaming power and stability of synthesized ester type surfactant was measured by Ross-Miles method.

Effects of Surfactants on the Growth of Anodic Nanoporous Niobium Oxide (양극산화를 통한 다공성 니오븀 산화물 성장의 계면활성제 영향)

  • Effects of Cetyl Trimethyl Ammonium Bromide (CTAB), which is a kind of cationic surfactants, and Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate (SDS), which is a kind of anionic surfactants on the anodic formation of nanoporous niobium oxide were compared. The addition of SDS could protect the surface from dissolution for long time, leading to the formation of niobium oxide with a double thickness (~400 nm) compared to that prepared without surfactant, whereas dissolution seriously occurred in the solution containing CTAB. The different behaviors were attributed to the interaction between the surfactants with positive (or negative) charge and positively charged niobium oxide.

Rational Selection of Surfactant in Surfactant-Based Remediation (오염복원에 있어서의 계면활성제의 선택)

  • Sutfactants may be used in remediation of subsoil and aquifer contaminated with hydrophobic compounds. The objectives of this study were to select potentially suitable sUlfactants that solubilize toluene present as a contaminant and to determine the effectiveness of toluene removal from Ottawa sand by the selected surfactants. Material used as the model soil was Ottawa sand and the organic used as model contaminant was toluene. Used experimental methods were separatory funnel experiment and shaker table agitation/centrifugation experiments. Based on the experimental results, the following conclusions were drawn; t) In the surfactant selection, six different surfactants were chosen based on surfactant types, toxicity, and water solubility. These six were focused into two on the basis of HLB and surface tension study, separatory funnel experiment, shaker table and centrifugation experiments. The two most suitable surfactants were Sandopan JA36 (an anionic surfactant), and Pluronic L44 (a non-ionic surfactant). 2) In the shaker table agitation and centrifugation experiments, the highest recovery of the toluene was 96% which was obtained with one surfactant wash plus two water rinses using an anionic surfactant (Sandopan JA36).

Surfactant Aided Air-sparging for Groundwater Remediation (계면촬성제 첨가에 따른 지하수 폭기법의 폭기효율 변화 연구)

  • Lab-scale experiments were conducted to evaluate the effect of surface tension reduction on the extension of the influence zone and the VOC removal efficiency of ground water sparging. A glass column packed with coarse sand was used for VOC removal test at two different surface tensions. A glass column without porous media was also used fer control purpose prior to sand-packed column test. A quasi-two-dimensional glass box model, packed with a sand, was used fer sparging zone tests at different water surface tensions. Surface tension of the aquoues solution used in this study was controlled using sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS). For the glass, sand column experiments, total amount of air filled in the media increased as surface tension decreased. Toluene (used as VOC in this study) removal rate increased slightly with decreased surface tension f3r both free water column and sand-packed column. Air sparging zone extended up to 500% as the surface tension decreased. Combining the results from two different experiments, VOC removal efficiency is expected to increase significantly with surface tension reduction.

Effect of the Applied Biostimulant Depth on the Bioremediation of Contaminated Coastal Sediment (연안오염퇴적물에 주입한 생물활성촉진제의 깊이가 생물정화효율에 미치는 영향)

  • This study investigated the optimum depth for the application of bioremediation in contaminated coastal sediment using a lab scale column experiment. The biostimulants were placed in the top surface of the sediment facing seawater, 3cm, 6cm and 10cm of the depth from the surface, respectibely. During the experiment, the changes of organic pollutants and heavy metal fractions in the sediment were monitored in 1 month and 3month time intervals. The organic pollutants found during various analysis such as chemical oxygen demand, total solids and volatile solids, significantly reduced when the depth of the biostimulant was 3cm or less. In contrast, at a depth of over 6cm, the reduction of organic pollutants decreased, and the results were similar to the control. Heavy metals fractions in the sediment also changed with the depth of the biostimulants. The exchangeable fraction of the metals was quite reduced at the sediment surface in the column, but the organic bound and residual fractions considerably increased at a depth of 3cm. Based on this study, the optimum biostimulants depth for in-situ bioremediation of contaminant coastal sediment is 3cm from the sediment surface.

Inhibition of Plaque Formation on the Titanium Surface by Anti-bacterial Varnish (항균제 처리한 titanium 표면의 치태형성 억제효과)

  • 매식된 인공치아의 성공을 위해서는 적절한 교합과 수동적 적합성을 갖는 보철물의 제작과 구강내 노출 직후부터의 세균성 치태조절이 요구된다. 본 연구는 전처리(passivation과 tridodecyl - methyl - ammonium chloride(TDMAC) 처리)가 다른 타이타늄 표 면에 chlorhexidine varnish와 테트라사이클린 을 도포시 약제의 방출역학을 알아보고 구강내 치태형성의 억제정도를 평가하기 위하여 시행 되었다. 이를 위해 방출용액으로 인산완충액 성분의 인조타액을 1일${\sim}$1개월간 매일 교환하여 약제농도를 측정하고 타이타늄 박막에 잔류한 약제 활성을 측정하였으며 항균제 도포한 타이타늄 원판을 부착한 장치를 구강내 위치시킨 1일${\sim}$3주 후 원판을 제거하여 주사전자현미경으로 세균 부착상을 관찰하였다. 테트라사이클린은 TDMAC 처리된 표면에서 $10{\sim}18$일까지 유효농도로 방출되었고 표면의 유효 항균 활성은 $3{\sim}4$주간 유지되었으며, chlorhexidine varnish 도포 시에는 TDMAC 전처리시 초기에 $3{\sim}7$일 간 증가한 유효 항균 활성을 방출하여 매식지대치 등에 이러한 항균제도포 시 매식치 주위환경에 항균활성 공급원으로 작용할 수 있음을 보였다. 주사현미경적 관찰시 모든 타이타늄 표면에서 구강내 위치 30분 후에는 세균이 부착되어 있지 않고 타액 단백질 성분에서 유래한 것으로 보이는 피막물질이 표면을 부분 또는 전면에 걸쳐 덮고 있었다. 구강내 노출 2시간 후 항균제 미도포 표본들에는 약간의 구균이 단층으로, $1{\sim}3$일 후에는 부분적으로 두꺼운 세균층을 형성하였고 7일 후에는 표면전체에 걸쳐 세균층이 덮여있었으며 주로 구균과 약간의 간균이 주종을 이루었다. 항균제 도포시 구강내 노출 1주일 이전까지는 미도포군에 비해 치태형성이 지연되는 경향을 보였지만 2주 이후에는 세균 수나 치태형성 양상이 유사하였다. 이 연구로부터 항균제 도포시 1주일 이전의 초기 치태형성을 감소시킬 수 있음을 알 수 있었으며 이러한 연구결과는 타이타늄 임프란트 지대치 표면에 항균제의 도포가 임상적으로 유용할 수 있음을 시사하였다.
