Penetration Properties of Airborne Chlorides on Concrete Exposed in Marine Environment (해안환경에 노출된 콘크리트의 비래염분 침투 특성)

  • Airborne chlorides are transported to inland by sea wind to be attached to seashore concrete structure surface then penetrated into concrete structure members. Since the surface attached chloride amount are dependent on the amount of airborne chlorides, the prediction of distribution of airborne chlorides is important information in preventing chloride corrosion problems in seashore concrete structures. The prediction of surface chloride amount from airborne chlorides environment is extremely difficult than concrete directly in contact with seawater. In addition, their penetrating tendency is different from that of concrete immersed in seawater. In this study, properties of surface and penetrated chlorides under airborne chlorides environment are investigated. Concrete specimens were manufactured and exposed to marine environment for 3 years. The specimens were analyzed at the time durations of 1, 2, and 3 years to check surface chloride amount to penetrated chloride depth. The results revealed that there were certain differences according to surface roughness of concrete and with and without washing effect due to rainfalls. The evaluation results showed that penetrated chlorides depend on amount of airborne chlorides and duration of exposure. In addition, a notable tendency of having deeper chloride penetration and higher chloride content in concrete members under long-term exposure was observed.

Correlation of Surface Chloride and Corrosion Amount for Steel Member Exposed in Marine Environment (해양환경에 노출된 강부재의 표면염분과 부식량 상관관계)

  • In this study, to analyze the correlation of surface chloride and corrosion amount level according to the installation location of steel members exposed to the marine environment, the surface chloride and mean corrosion depth were evaluated by member units for box girder members of the offshore steel bridge and box specimens. The surface chloride was measured monthly using the Bresle method for one year. The corrosion amount was evaluated by converting the weight loss due to corrosion products generated in the monitoring steel plate into mean corrosion depth. As a measurement result of the surface chloride and corrosion amount, relative differences in surface chloride and mean corrosion depth were appeared depending on the shape or installation location of the steel members. Moreover, even if members of the same shape were installed in the same bridge, it was confirmed that the corrosion amount was increased locally and rapidly. The tendency of corrosion amount depending on the surface chloride was evaluated to analyze the correlation between surface chloride and corrosion amount, and the relation equations that can asseses the corrosion amount depending on the surface chloride were analyzed. From the results of the correlation between surface chloride and corrosion amount, it was found that the corrosion amount of the steel member affected by the surface chloride was varied up to about 1.15 times depending on the structural detail.

On the Seasonal Transports of Freshwater and Salt in the Tropical Atlantic Ocean (열대 대서양에서의 계절별 담수 및 염분의 수송)

  • The transports of the seasonal freshwater and salt from surface to 500 m depth in the tropical Atlantic Ocean are derived from the equations of the continuity and saltconservation, respectively. The freshwater transport is obtained by southward integration of the divergence of surface freshwater flux, using climatological freshwater(i. e. precipitation, evaporation, and river discharge) data. The annual freshwater transport is northward, ranging from 0 Sv near the equator to 0.3 Sv at $12^{\circ}{\;}N{\;}and{\;}20^{\circ}{\;}S$. The seasonal meridional transport amounts of freshwater range from 1.35 Sv to-0.45 Sv. The strong northward freshwater transports prevail for the intraseasonal period summer to fall. This seasonal cycle is caused by the shifts of the ITCZ as well as the changes in the local freshwater storage. Annual and seasonal salt transports are calculated from objectively analyzed historical (1900-86) salinity observations. The annual salt flux in the ocean zero, showing that the salt flux by horizontal advection balances the flux by horizontal diffusion. The salt flux due to the diffusion is northward, and has a maximum of $5{\;}{\times}{\;}10^6kg/s$ at 15oN. Seasonal transport amounts of salt range from $30{\;}{\times}{\;}10^6kg/s{\;}to{\;}-35{\;}{\times}10^6kg/s$. The direction of the seasonal salt transports is northward except for the intraseasonal period summer to fall.

  • 본 연구에서는 기수역에서의 GPS 전자부자를 활용한 계측 데이터와 염분측정 데이터를 비교분석하여 GPS 전자부자의 거동 특성이 담수의 실제 거동특성과 같이 일치하게 나타나는지 확인하고, GPS 전자부자에 대한 활용성을 증명하고자 하였다. 기수역에서의 담수와 해수의 분포를 확인하기 위해서는 많은 인력과 장비를 소모하며 수리량과 염분도에 대한 측정을 통해 분석을 할 수 있는데, 대표적인 수리량 측정장비인 ADCP 또는 ADV는 각종 측정 한계들이 존재한다. 따라서 이러한 기수역에서의 수체 구간별 흐름 특성이 어떻게 나타나는지 확인하기 위해서 GPS 전자부자를 활용하고자 하였으며. GPS 전자부자의 데이터와 수직방향으로 측정한 염분도 데이터와 비교하고자 하였다. 수영강 좌수영교 상류 1km지점에서 주입하였으며 간조 시와 만조 시에 유하시켜 수영강에 위치한 좌수영교와 수영교에서 각각 좌측, 중간, 우측에서 수심방향으로 측정한 염분도를 상층 중층 하층으로 평균하여 비교하였다. 본 연구에서 사용한 GPS 전자부자는 표면부자이기 때문에 만조 시 하류방향으로 더 뻗어 나가는것으로 확인하였고, 간조 시에는 흐름이 더디거나 정체하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 계측 결과는 담수의 흐름 특성과 일치하게 나타나는 것을 확인하였고 이러한 GPS Floater를 활용한다면 굳이 각종 수질을 측정하지 않아도 흐름 상황으로 간조인지 만조인지에 대한 상황과 염분 분포를 대략적으로 알 수 있다. 이러한 GPS 전자부자의 위치데이터와 시간을 잘 이용한다면 ADCP의 유속 측정에 대한 단점을 보완할 수 있는 Lagrangian 타입의 유속을 측정 할 수 있다. 이러한 GPS 전자부자를 하천에서 선주입으로 활용한다면 각 구간별로 수체에 대한 흐름과 유속들을 분석할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다. 또한 GPS 전자부자를 좀더 활용하여 IoT 기반 수질센서 등과 같은 각종 센서가 GPS Floater에 결합이 된다면, 흘러가면서 각종 데이터 정보취득을 통해 수체내 흐름을 분석하는 것뿐만 아니라 수환경 유출오염사고들에 대한 초기대응에 많은 도움이 될 것으로 사료 된다.

The Influence of Nano Synthesized Polymer Paint on Durability of Concrete (나노합성 무기질 폴리머계 표면처리제가 콘크리트의 내구성에 미치는 영향)

  • This experiment was compared and analyzed between the original surface paint through chloride penetration, neutralization, freeze-thaw and chemical corrosion resistance measuring internal structure and volume of voids in order to evaluate the effect of increase in durability of the newly modeled nano synthesized polymer paint painted on concrete surface which results improvement on air permeability to increase the durability of concrete structures. The test result of measuring volume of void and inner structure, concrete, spreaded with nano synthesized polymer paint, showed decreasing trend of pore volume in the range of less than $0.1{\mu}m$ and more than $0.3{\mu}m$. Also, using an electron microscope inside showed tightness of hydration texture. Chloride penetration depth of concrete, painted with nano synthesized polymer paint, was decreased more than 92% compared to non-painted concrete and 70% with water-based epoxy painted concrete. Especially, chemical corrosion resistance test set with aqueous solution of 5% sulfuric acid, non-painted concrete and water-based epoxy painted concrete showed weight loss of 4% after dipping for 12 days. On the other hand, concrete painted with nano synthesized polymer paint showed 1.7% weight loss under the same condition. Also, it showed great result of appearance under the criteria of Tsivilis et al.

On the Annual Variations of Water Temperature and Salinity in Kwang Yang Bay (광양만의 수온과 염분의 연변화에 관하여)

  • The physical oceanographic investigations in Kwang Yang Bay, were carried out for seven times from May 1974 to May 1975. The results of this survey show that the salinity of the bay water is generally lower than that of the adjacent sea water, and mean surface salt ni ty in March and July were 20.8-25.2\ulcorner and 31. 8-32. 5\ulcorner. The month with the minimum surface water temperature was January with $2.5~5.2^{\circ}C:$ the maximum monthly value was $ 23.8-24.2 ^{\circ} C$ in September. The surface water temperature were related to the heat budget at the sea surface in the bay water, the degree of relationship was good. The mean vertical stability in the bay water(0-10m)were 297XI0^{-6} in July and -IXto^{-6} in January. The computed vertical stability indicate that the vertical mixing could move down to the depths of 15m during late autumn and winter, but the rest of season hardly take place to the depths of tom.

Optimum Seeding Rate in Different to Soil Salinity for Broadcasting on the Rice Flooded Paddy Surface at South-western Reclaimed Saline Land of Korea (서남부 간척지에서 벼 담수표면산파재배시 토양 염농도별 적정 파종량)

  • This study was conducted to establish the optimum seeding rate in different soil salinity level for yield stability of broadcasting on flooded paddy surface to the reclaimed saline land of south-western part at Gyehwado substation of the Honam Agricultural Research institute in $2003{\sim}2004$. Soeganbyeo was tested in the Munpo series (fine sand loam) the results obtained is as follows: As seeding rate was higher, the number of seeding stand was increased and the number of seeding stands in the low salinity field is sharply increased than those of the medium salinity field. The length of culm in medium salinity field tends to be shorter than that of the low salinity field and as seeding rate was increased, the lodging is severe. The milled rice yield was increased as up to 9 kg/10a in low and medium salinity soil. Complete rice was no significantly increased over 5 kg/10a seeding rate in low salinity field and over 7 kg/10a seeding rate in medium salinity field. Considering the yield of milled and complete rice, seeding stand and lodging, The proper seeding rate is $5{\sim}7kg/10a$ in low salinity and $7{\sim}9kg/10a$ in medium salinity for broadcasting on flooded paddy surface at the reclaimed saline land of southwestern part.

  • This research is about the result of leakage current waveform about the situation of surface leakage current and environmental changes(Salt fog, clean fog and rain) by EPDM polymer insulators' amount of salt. The researcher presents the result of changing about fundamental harmonic, 3rd harmonic and 5th harmonic from starting point of supplying power to flashover. In this study, researched environmental affects (clean fog, salt fog and .am) about surface aging of polymer insulators and used frequency spectrum of leakage current waveform to develop the diagnostic technique of surface aging. When amount of salt contents changed, surface aging stage and the degree of aging (distortion factor) about 3rd and 5th harmonir waveform on low frequency harmonic wave. The distortion factor which is harmonic percentage about basic harmonic is important pointer to evaluate the surface condition of polymer insulators.

Chemical Characteristics of Water Types in the Korea Strait (해양 화학적 특성으로 본 대한해협의 수계)

  • Physical and chemical survey on western channel of the Korea Strait was made using oceanographic data from July 25 to July 31, 1983. Four water types were distinguished at western channel: runoff of the Nakdong River, Tsushima Current Waters, Keoje Coastal Waters, and Ulsan Coastal Waters. Influence of the Nakdong River was greater at Southern East Coast near Yeong-Do Island in Pusan than at Keoje Coast. General characteristics of these four water types were as follows : For runoff of the Nakdong River, transparency was within 3 m, water colour chinese yellow (number 11), surface temperature $18{\sim}19^{\circ}C$, salinity less than $31\%0$, surface dissolved oxygen (D.O.) $4.5{\sim}5.0ml/l$, contents of phosphate $0.25{\sim}0.5{\mu}g-at./l$ ; these values were the highest among these four water types. For Tsushima Current waters, transparency was greater than 15 m, waters color blue (number $2{\sim}4$), surface temperature about $23^{\circ}C$, salinity $32{\sim}33\%0$, and surface D.O. greater than 5,0 ml/l. Phosphate, nitrate and silicate were less than 0.25, 2.0, and $2.5{\mu}g-at./l$, respectively; these values were the lowest among these four water types. Keoje Coastal Waters had low temperature ranging $20{\sim}21^{\circ}C$ at surface, and high salinity greater than $33\%0$. D.O. was less than 5.0 ml/l, phoshpate, $0.5{\mu}g-at./l$ nitrate and silicate were less than $3.5{\mu}g-at./l$. Ulsan Coastal Waters had the lowest surface temperature among these four types; surface temperature was less than $16^{\circ}C$, salinity greater than $33.5\%0$, and D.O., phosphate and nitrate had very high values. It seems that these high values resulted from upwelling phenomena.

Status and perspective of gas turbine engine for automobiles (자동차용 가스터어빈 엔진의 현황 및 전망)

  • 우리나라는 이제 그동안의 꾸준한 노력의 결과로 자동차 수출국으로 발돋움하고 있으며 이 분야 에서으 선진국과의 경쟁이 점점 치열해질 전망이다. 이러한 세계 시장에서의 경쟁 대열에서 탈 락되지 않기 위해서는 무엇보다도 제품 품질의 향상, 원가의 절감 등이 이루어져야 할 것이며 이 에 대한 노력을 게을리 해서는 안될 것이다. 한편 이와는 별도로 좀더 다른 각도에서 자동차 공업의 방향을 고찰할 필요가 있다. 즉 미래에도 계속해서 현재의 왕복동 내연기관이 자동차 구동용으로 사용될 것인가 하는 점이다. 엔진의 성능 향상, 연비의 감소, 엄격한 배기가스 규 제에의 대처 등에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있지만 기술개발에는 한계가 있으며 제품은 점점 복잡하게 되어 결국은 제품가격 및 A/S 비용이 상승되는 역효과를 나타낼 가능성이 높다. 이에 세계적인 자동차 제조회사에서는 오래전부터 새로운 방식의 미래형 자동차 engine 개발에 착수 하였으며 계속적인 연구를 진행하고 있다. 이러한 미래형 자동차 engine의 대표적인 것으로 gas turbine engine이 있다. 가스터어빈이라 하면 우선 항공기용의 jet engine을 생각하게 된다. 그 외에 발전용으로 가스터어빈은 이용되고 있으며 근래 다시 등장한 자동차용의turbocharger 역시 가스터어빈의 한 응용분야라고 할 수 있다. turbocharger의 경우는 내연기관의 출력향상을 주 목적으로 내연기관에 부착되어 이용되고 있는 반면에 gas turbine engine은 기존의 내연기관을 대체하여 자동차 구동용으로 이용되는 점에 그 차이가 있다. 아직은 실용화되징 않았지만 미래형 자동차 기관으로서의 이용가능성이 높은 gas turbine engine을 다음에 간략히 소개하고자 한다. 생산량과 하천수에 의한 생산량과의 비는 풍건물의 경우 0.6, 매물의 경우 0.5였으며 감자의 경우는 0.2이하였다. 4. 염분용수 관개구와 하천수 관개구의 모든작물에서 풍건물 생산량과 축배량 사이에는 강한 직선적인 관계를 보였다. 보리, 감자의 작물 생산량과 축배량사이에도 선형의 관계가 성립되었으나, 밀과 옥수수의 매물 생산량과 축배량사이에는 곡선적인 관계를 나타내었다..18cm)에 필적되는 연평균 4.16cm로 나타났다. 5. 전체 시험구로부터으 연평균 토양유실량은 Sharpsburg 점질양토에 대한 S.C.S 한계허용치 10ton/ha/year 이내로 나타났다. 비처리구에서의 토양유실량은 평균 2.56ton/ha/year로 높게 나타난 반면 3개의 서로 다른 추리구인 비수구, 초생수로구 및 Bromegrass구에서는 각각 0.152, 0.192 및 0.290ton/ha/year로 낮은 결과를 가져왔다. 6. 평균 침전량에 대한 L.S.D. 검정 걸과 전시험구중 비처리구가 고도의 유의차를 나타낸 반면 비수구, 초생수로구 및 Bromegrass 목초구 간에는 아무런 유의차가 인정되지 않았다. 7. 농지보전 처리구인 배수구와 초생수로구는 비처리구에 비해 낮은 침두 유출량과 낮은 토양유실량을 나타내었다.구보다 14% 절감되는 것으로 나타났다.작용하는 것으로 사료된다.된다.정량 분석한 결과이다. 시편의 조성은 33.6 at% U, 66.4 at% O의 결과를 얻었다. 산화물 핵연료의 표면 관찰 및 정량 분석 시험시 시편 표면을 전도성 물질로 증착시키지 않고, Silver Paint 에 시편을 접착하는 방법으로도 만족한 시험 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.째, 회복기 중에 일어나는 입자들의 유입은 자기폭풍의 지속시간을 연장시키는 경향을 보이며 큰
