  • 액체로켓 시험설비는 다량의 연료를 사용하므로 사고 발생의 가능성이 높다. 또 발생 가능한 폭발/화재 사고는 과도한 폭발과압 및 화염구로 인해 많은 손실을 가져 올 수 있다. 이에 액체로켓엔진 시험설비에서 발생 할 수 있는 사고의 유형 및 손실 정도에 대해서 연구 하였다. 본 문서에서는 액체로켓 시험설비에서 발생 할 수 있는 폭발 및 화재에 적합한 방재 방법에 관한 내용을 담고있다.

Evaluation of Local Damages and Residual Performance of Blast Damaged RC Beams Strengthened with Steel Fiber and FRP Sheet (폭발 손상을 입은 강섬유 및 FRP 시트 보강 철근콘크리트 보의 국부손상 및 잔류성능 평가)

  • In this study, standoff detonation tests and static beam tests on $160{\times}290{\times}2200mm$ RC beams were conducted to investigate the effect of local damage on the flexural strength and ductility index. And also, blast resistance of RC beams strengthened with steel fiber and FRP sheet were evaluated by these tests. The standoff detonation tests were performed with charge weight of 1kg and standoff distance of 0.1m. After the tests, crater diameters and loss weights of specimens were measured to evaluate the local damage of specimens. Flexural strength and ductility index were measured by conducting the static beam tests on the damaged and undamaged specimens. As a test results, normal concrete specimen(NC) showed relatively large crater and spall diameters that caused weight loss of 23.5kg as a local damage. Whereas, steel fiber reinforced concrete specimen(SFRC) and FRP sheet retrofitted specimens(NC-F, NC-FS) showed higher blast resistance than NC by reducing crater size and weight loss. Flexural strength and ductility index were decreased in case of local damaged specimens by detonation. Especially, large decrease of flexural strength was shown in NC as compared with intact specimen and brittle failure was occurred due to buckling of compressive reinforcement. In case of specimens strengthened with steel fiber and FRP sheet, residual flexural strength and ductility index were increased as compared with NC. In these results, it is concluded that critical local damage can be occurred unless enough standoff distance can be assured even if the charge weight is small. and it is verified that strengthening method using steel fiber and FRP sheet can increase blast resistance.

Consideration of MIL-STD-810G Explosive Atmosphere Test for Fighter Aircraft (전투기의 MIL-STD-810G 폭발성 대기 시험에 관한 고찰)

  • In various environmental requirements of a fighter aircraft, the explosive atmosphere is a test to verify whether or not military products are ignited for the safety of the aircraft system and crew. For the test, the explosive atmosphere test chamber owned by the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH) was applied, and n-hexane, which has more sensitive ignition characteristics than general fuel, was used to conduct the test conservatively. Based on Procedure I, Method 511.6, MIL-STD-810G w/Change 1, the US military environmental test specification, the scope of application, tailoring guide, and detailed test procedures are checked, and the necessity of this test for each subsystem of the fighter aircraft is considered. In this study, we present the correct tailoring method by analyzing the explosive atmosphere test results for the components installed in the fighter aircraft and sharing the derived essential points.

Evaluation on the Impact Resistant Performance of Fiber Reinforced Concrete by High-Velocity Projectile and Contacted Explosion (고속비상체 충돌 및 접촉폭발에 의한 섬유보강 콘크리트의 내충격 성능 평가)

  • In this study we experimentally evaluated an impact resistant performance of fiber reinforced concrete in the moment of explosion by high-velocity projectile with emulsion explosive. To assess the impact resistance, we conducted the impact test of high-velocity projectile which reaches an impact speed of 350 m/s and the experiment of contact exploding emulsion explosive. As a result, bending and tensile performance depending on type of PVA, PE fiber (polyvinyl alcohol fiber, polyethylene fiber) and steel fiber affects destruction of rear side in the form of spalling. Destroying the backside of the concrete compressive strength compared to suppress the bending and tensile performance is affected. In addition, the experiment shows that the destruction patterns of concrete specimen producted by high velocity impact and contact explosion are significantly similar. Therefore, it is possible to predict the destruction patterns of specimens in the situation of contact explosion by high-velocity projectile.

폐목재 재활용 분진의 화재폭발위험성

  • 최근의 분진폭발은 플라스틱, 의약품, 목재, 곡물 저장고, 고체연료, 화학제품 제조공정 등을 포함하여 성형 및 가공 공정 등에서 화재폭발사고가 발생되고 있다. 폐목재를 재활용하여 PB(Particle board)를 생산하는 국내 제조사업장에서는 화재폭발 사고가 빈번히 발생하고 있어 예방대책이 요구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 폐목재 제조공정의 사고예방과 목재분진 취급공정에 대한 안전대책 등을 제시하기 위하여 사고원인 물질인 폐목재 부유분진의 폭발특성실험을 실시하고 실험결과를 검토하였다. 또한 폐목재 분진의 화재폭발위험성을 상세히 평가하기 위하여 해당 물질의 자연발화점, 축열저장시험, 및 최소점화에너지 등의 화재폭발위험특성값을 실험적으로 조사하였다. 본 연구에서 사용한 폐목재 시료의 비구형 입자형태를 가지는데 입도분석기의 측정 결과 평균 입경은 $15.96{\mu}m$로 조사되었다. 또한 목재 분진의 함수율은 3.88%이며 중금속함유량은 1.73%이다. 자연발화점 측정결과 $225.5^{\circ}C$로서 비교적 낮게 측정되었고 퇴적분진에 대한 화재의 위험성은 높게 나타났다. 반면에 축열저장시험 결과를 통하여 공정관리 온도 및 보관온도를 $150^{\circ}C$ 이하로 관리하면 축열에 의한 자기분해 위험성은 낮은 것으로 판단되었다. 그러므로 축열에 의한 화재폭발 등의 위험성은 낮은 것으로 사료 된다. 최대폭발압력($P_{max}$)은 8.7 bar이며 폭발하한농도 (LEL)는 $60g/m^3$으로 나타났다. 부유분진의 폭발특성실험 결과 분진폭발지수(Kst)는 폭발등급 St 1 (0$bar{\cdot}m/s$)으로 나타났으며 폭발에 의한 위험성이 약한 분진으로 판정되었다. 최소점화에너지(MIE)는 10mJ < MIE <30mJ의 범위로 측정되었으며, 계산에 의해 추정된 최소점화 에너지(Es) 값은 14 mJ로서 일반적인 발화감도(Normal ignition sensitive)로 분류되었다. 이는 실질적인 점화원만 제거하여도 분진폭발을 예방할 수 있다는 것을 의미한다. 그러나 분진 폭발사고를 예방을 위하여 MIE값이 공정운전온도 $100^{\circ}C$ 초과 시에 급격히 낮아질 수 있으므로 운전 온도 설정에 있어서 주의가 필요하다.

A Study on Fire and Explosion Accident Cause in Regenerated Thermal Oxidizer (축열식 소각로의 화재.폭발 사고원인 규명 연구)

  • There has been a report of fire and explosion accident in regenerated thermal oxidizer (RTO). This paper was to investigate accident causes of RTO in the resin re-treatment process. The experiments carried out physicochemical properties and thermal stability analyses by using flash point tester, flammable range apparatus, autoignition tester, GC/MSD and thermal screening unit. We inferred causes of fire and explosion from the regenerated thermal oxidizer to prevent an accident of its process.

Development of an Explosive Bolt for Sled Test Application (슬레드 시험용 폭발볼트 개발)

  • An explosive bolt is one of many representative pyrotechnic release devices that separates two joined structures using explosives inside the bolt. In this study, a 1/2 inch ridge-cut explosive bolt with an EBW detonator was developed for usage in sled tests. The initial shape design was carried out based on the design method, and the performance test showed that the separation performance was outstanding but fragments occurred. Therefore, numerical analysis was performed to reduce the amount of debris by minimizing the amount of explosives. From the numerical analysis, the separation mechanism and characteristics of the ridge-cut explosive bolts were identified, and the minimum amount of explosives that does not generate debris was proposed. Verification tests revealed that the ridge-cut explosive bolts with the proposed explosive weight minimized fragments while maintaining the separation performance.

  • 최근 급속히 발전하고 있는 과학기술과 산업발달에 따라 화학물질, 위험물의 사용, 저장 및 운송물이 날로 증가하고 있다. 이러한 물질들은 우리의 일상생활과 인류문화 발전에 크게 기여하고 있지만 인화성, 폭발성 등의 잠재위험성을 가지고 있다. 세계 각국은 물질의 분류와 표시가 달라 국제무역에서 많은 사고가 증가하고 있는 실정이다. 이 연구의 목적은 자기반응성물질의 화재 폭발 위험성을 평가하고, 국제적인 시험방법과 국내 시험방법으로 시험하여 연관성 및 상관관계를 알아보고 선진화된 시험방법을 국내실정에 적합하게 제시하는데 있다.

폭발성형 관통자 생성 모사 해석

  • 수리동역학 코드를 사용하여 폭발성형 관통자의 생성과정을 해석하고 다양한 해석기법을 개발하였다. 수치해석 결과 섬광 X선 장비를 사용한 정치시험 결과와 비교하여 해석 결과의 신뢰성을 확인하였다. 폭발성형 관통자의 관통성능 증대를 위하여 다양한 라이너 모델에 대한 수치해석을 수행하고, 그 결과를 비교하였다.

  • This paper was studied on the explosion hazard by spark discharge of the lithium-ion battery. The experimental samples were chosen lithium-ion battery(general, notebook) which were used for source of portable equipment. The IEC(International Electrotechnical Commission) type spark ignition test apparatus and experimental gases such as methane, propane, ethylene or hydrogen were used for explosiveness test. It was confirmed through the experiment that the explosion hazard by spark discharge. Also, it was used thermal imager for confirm that spontaneous ignition possibility by short-circuit. As the result, this paper verified that lithium-ion battery should be used and designed by special attention safety in the hazardous zone which is existed explosiveness gas.
