An Analysis of Saturation Headway at Signalized Intersections by Using Fuzzy Inference (퍼지추론을 이용한 신호교차로에서의 포화차두시간 분석)

  • 신호 교차로에서 포화차두시간에 영향을 미치는 영향인자는 도로조건, 교통조건, 환경조건으로 분류된다. 이러한 요인들의 복합적인 관계가 포화차두시간에 영향을 미친다. 현재 포화교통류율은 이상적인 조건일 때의 포화차두시간을 산출하고, 이를 이용해서 기본 포화교통류율을 구하고, 여기에 좌 우회전, 차로폭, 경사, 중차량 보정계수을 고려함으로써 특정 차로군의 포화교통류율을 산정하고 있다. 포화차두시간에 영향을 미치는 인자들 중에서 정량적으로 나타내기 어려운 인자 즉, 퍼지적 성격을 가진 인자들은 고려하지 않고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 퍼지 근사추론 방법을 이용하여 정성적 인자의 영향을 고려한 모형을 구축하였다. 모형의 입력자료는 강우조건과 주변밝기의 정도, 중차량 구성비의 언어적 표현를 사용하였다. 이러한 변수들에 대하여 설문조사를 통해서 퍼지집합의 멤버쉽함수를 설정하였으며. 이에 기초하여 교차로에서 각 조건별로 포화차두시간을 관측하였다. 이러한 현장 관측치를 바탕으로 퍼지 제어규칙을 설정하고 모형을 구축하였다. 모형의 평가는 추론치와 실측치를 비교함으로써 이루어 졌으며, 결정계수인 $R^2$와 평균절대오차(MAE)와 평균제곱오차(MSE)를 사용하여 분석한 결과 본 모형의 설명력이 높은 것으로 평가되었다. 본 연구의 과정에서 강우에 의한 교통용량 감소는 중차량 구성비가 클수록 주변밝기의 정도가 나쁠수록 더욱 큰 것으로 나타났으며 그 감소율은 5.3%에서 21.8%에 이르는 넓은 범위의 값을 보였고. 주변밝기 정도에 따른 교통용량 감소는 4.7$\sim$7.5% 수준으로 나타났다.

  • 전력계통의 정태안정도 해석에서 발전기의 특성을 정확히 모델링하는 것을 해석결과의 정확도에 매우 큰 영향을 미치게 된다. 본 논문은 발전기 무한모선 계통을 사용하여 발전기의 특성을 정확히 해석하고자 하는 경우에 발전기의 포화특성을 종래의 동일축 전류성분에 의한 포화특성뿐만 아니라 교차자화 효과에 의한 포화특성까지 고려하여 보다 정확한 해석이 가능하도록 하였다. 동일축 성분의 포화 특성과 교차자화 효과에 의한 포화특성을 고려하여 발전기를 해석하기 위한 기준 좌표계로 발전기의 d축이 q축 보다 위상이 90$^{\circ}$앞서는 좌표계를 사용 관계식을 재정립하여 정태안정도 해석에 사용하던 기존의 발전기모델과 일치하도록 하였다. 사례연구를 통해서 포화특성을 정확히 고려하여 발전기를 모델링하는 것이 해석결과의 정확도에 매우 큰 영향을 미치는 것을 보였고, 다양한 계통조건에 대한 정태안정도 해석을 통해서 계통조건의 변화에 따라 포화특성에 영향을 미치는 요소들의 변화를 파악하였다.

Diagnosis on Degree of Saturation Model of COSMOS Affected by Geometric and Detection Conditions and Detector Placements (교통조건, 기하구조 조건 및 검지기 설치위치에 따른 실시간신호제어시스템 포화도 산출방식 진단)

  • The Korean real-time traffic responsive control systems, Cycle Offset Split Model of Seoul (COSMOS), employs a single theoretical model to estimate the degree-of-saturation (DS) on approaches. However, the deployment of the system has been accomplished without practical consideration of its field performance. This paper delivers a diagnosis study performed to find the relationships yet known on the DS values against the operational conditions unproved in theory but ordinarily observed in field practice. Based on the analysis of the historical log data (476,505 cycles) obtained from the COSMOS server, it was found; (1) full coverage of lane detections should perform better than the sample coverage of detection in ordinary conditions, (2) the sample coverage of detection perform better than the other case with an exclusive bus lane, (3) detection in which a shared lane is involved provide poor estimation of DS, (4) poor DS estimation when a detection lane is adjacent to a shared lane, and (5) the DS values obtained during a day can hardly be stable all time. The findings suggest traffic engineers a progressive direction to move forward for the next real-time traffic control systems.

  • In this study, model tests were performed to investigate the settlement characteristics of the rock/soil mixture subgrade with the many portion of mudstone due to the cyclic train loading in high-speed railway. Specially, from the tests varying initial degree of saturation, effects of increment of the degree of saturation in the subgrade due to rainfall or elevation of ground water table under cyclic train loading on the deformation characteristics were analyzed. From the results, in the low degree of saturation, settlement converged to some value. However, in the condition of degree of saturation larger than some value, settlement rapidly increased. Therefore, it was found that it is important to maintain the degree of saturation of subgrade below the specific level to prevent the settlement of subgrade.

Dynamic Deformation Characteristics of Sands Under Various Drainage Conditions (배추 조건에 따른 사질토 지반의 동적 변형특성)

  • In this study, dynamic deformation characteristics of sands under dry, saturated drained and undrained conditions were investigated at small to intermediate strains using the modified Stokoe-type torsional shear tests. The equipment was modified to saturate the specimen and to maintain the B-value above 0.99 during the test. On two types of sands, Geumgang sand from Korea and Toyoura sand from Japan, tests were carried out at various drainage conditions, void ratios, and effective confining pressures. Based on the test results, dynamic deformation characteristics, shear modulus (G) and damping ratio (D), and/or pore-water pressure were measured with strain amplitude and number of loading cycles. Variations of G and D at small ($\gamma_c<{10}^{-3}\%$) to medium (${10}^{-3}\%<\gamma_c<{10}^{-1}\%$) strains were measured under various drainage conditions, and test results were intensively compared considering drainage conditions.

Removal of NAPL from Aquifer Using Surfactant-enhanced Air Sparging at Elevated Temperature (승온조건의 SEAS(surfactant-enhanced air sparging) 기술을 이용한 대수층 NAPL(n-decane)의 휘발제거)

  • Surfactant-enhanced air sparging (SEAS) was developed to suppress the surface tension of groundwater prior to air sparging resulting in higher air saturation and larger contact area between NAPL and gas during air sparging. Larger contacting interface between NAPL and gas means faster mass transfer of contaminants from NAPL to gas phase. This new technique, however, is limited to relatively volatile contaminants because vaporization is its basic mechanism of mass transfer. In this study, SEAS was tested at an elevated temperature for a semi-volatile n-decane, which is expected not to be a good candidate of SEAS application due to its low vapor pressure at ambient temperature. Three sparging experiments were conducted using 1-dimensional column (5 cm id, 80 cm length) packed with sand; (1) ambient temperature ($23^{\circ}C$), column saturated with distilled water, (2) SEAS at ambient temperature ($23^{\circ}C$), for n-decane contaminated sand, (3) SEAS at elevated temperature ($73^{\circ}C$), for n-decane contaminated sand. Higher air saturation was achieved by SEAS compared to that by air sparging without surfactant application. The n-decane removal efficiency of SEAS at elevated temperature was significantly higher(> 10 times) than that of ambient SEAS. The n-decane concentrations in the gas effluent from column during SEAS at $73^{\circ}C$ are found to be 10 times of those measured at ambient temperature. Thus, SEAS technique can be applied for removal of semi-volatile contaminants provided that an appropriate technique for elevating aquifer temperature is available.

Evaluation of Fate of $NH_4{^+}$ of Condensed Molasses Solubles(CMS) in Soil Using by $^{15}N$-Tracer Method (중질소 추적자법을 이용한 Condensed Molasses Solubles(CMS) 함유 $NH_4{^+}$의 토양 중 행동 연구)

  • To study the behavior of $NH_4{^+}$ of CMS (condensed molasses solubles) in soil, a laboratory incubation experiment was conducted during a period of up to 21 days at $25^{\circ}C$. The $NH_4{^+}$ of CMS was labeled with $^{15}N$ and was applied to water-unsturated and water-saturated conditions. Soil pH was gradually decreased from 6.1 to 5.4 under unsaturated condition. However, soil pH was increased to 6.5 within 2 days under saturated condition and then was constant. The concentration of ammonium was decreased 3 times faster under unsaturated condition than under saturated condition. The concentration of nitrate was increased from 17.4 to $155.4mg\;kg^{-1}$ under unsaturated condition. But concentration of nitrate was kept with low(below $8.0mg\;kg^{-1}$) under saturated condition. During the incubation, 52.4% of $^{15}NH_4{^+}$ applied was existed in the form of $NO_3{^-}$ by nitrification under unsaturated condition. Most of applied nitrogen was immobilized within 4 days of incubation. On 21 days of the incubation the percentage of immobilized nitrogen derived from $^15NH_4{^+}$(NDFA) was 19.6% under unsaturated condition and 17.0% under saturated condition. The percentage of unaccounted N, which was lost by denitrification, was 28.4% under unsturated condition and 67.6% under saturated condition.

Prediction of Saturation Time for the Soil Slopes due to Rainfalls (지속적인 강우에 의한 토사사면의 포화시간 예측)

  • Many studies for slope stability studies have indicated that the infiltration of rainwater into a slope decrease the slope stability. In order to minimize damage caused by slope failure, most design codes suggest that the slope stability be analyzed by saturated condition during rainy season. However it would be excessively conservative condition that every soil slope is saturated in rainy season irrespective of rainfall intensity, soil type and slope geometry. In addition, because most soil slopes are in an unsaturated state, it is necessary to consider the unsaturated characteristics of slope. This paper suggests a prediction method of saturation time for the weathered granite soil slopes due to rainfalls. The finite element analysis of transient water flow through unsaturated slope was used to investigate effects of soil-water characteristics, permeability at saturation, slope geometry, and rainfall intensity. From the result of these analyses, the prediction charts considering soil-water characteristics, permeability at saturation, and slope height were proposed in this study. It is possible to the time required to be saturated slope after rainfall.

A Study on the Conformity Assessment of Type Curve Models to Predict Production Performance in Coalbed Methane Reservoirs (CBM 저류층의 생산성 예측을 위한 표준곡선 모델의 적합성 평가 연구)

  • The cleat system in coalbed methane (CBM) reservoirs is generally occupied by water which liberated during the coalification process, and behavior of water have influence on CBM production performance. Therefore, it is essential to investigate the effect of the water saturation to operate the degasification process and predict the CBM production performance properly. In this study, type curve analyses were performed on CBM reservoirs under various water saturation to improve the prediction of production performance. A CBM reservoir models with fully-, modestly-, and undersaturated reservoir were built to get production data using GEM by CMG Ltd., and the data were matched with Fetkovich, Palacio-Blasingame(P-B), and Agarwal-Gardner (A-G) type curve. The results showed that undersaturated reservoir was successfully matched by A-G type curve, while the Fetkovich type curve was inappropriate for matching in the late time. The modestly saturated model could be almost corresponded with all the type curve methods at late production period. For the fully saturated model, after peak production had been reached, both P-B and A-G methods showed a proper match to the reservoir production data without long-term production period. Based on the results, merit and demerit of each type curve under specific water saturation were analyzed and listed. Therefore, it is believed that the production data analysis with proper type curve model considering water saturation can be performed to predict accurate production performance.

울산광산 내 비소로 오염된 광미의 자연저감 능력에 대한 pH와 산화-환원 전위 영향

  • 울산광산 내 지표수와 토양 중의 공극수에 함유되어 있는 비소의 오염현황을 파악하고, pH와 산화-환원 전위 값의 변화에 따른 자연저감 능력을 평가하였다. 유비철석을 비롯한 비소함유 광물은 높은 산화-환원 전위 값과 낮은 pH 조건에서 해리되며, 이후 지하수의 진화과정에서 pH가 상승함에 따라 주로 5가의 비소형태로 존재하게 된다. 울산광산지역 지하수의 비소농도는 Eh가 높은 비포화대와 포화대 지하수의 경계부에서 높은 경향을 나타내며, 포화대의 상부에서는 Eh가 비교적 일정하나 비소 농도는 다양한 분포양상을 보인다. 포화대 하부에서 비소의 함량은 매우 낮으며, Eh 감소에 따라 비소 함량이 비례적으로 감소한다. 반응경로 과정에서 비소농도는 Eh<-0.1(V)인 지하수 포화대에서 가장 낮으며, pH가 상대적으로 낮고 산화-환원 전위값이 높은 비포화대에서 증가되는 경향을 보인다. 풍화 반응 정도가 높은 광미와 토양에서 비소농도 높으나, 용출실험에서 비소가 기준치 이하로 용출되는 것은 풍화반응과 토양에 의한 비소의 자연저감이 진행되고 있음을 반영한다. RMB를 이용한 중금속 제거능력 평가 실내실험에서, 산성과 알칼리 조건 모두에서 제거율이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 인회석과 철산화물질로 구성된 RMB는 친환경적이고 2차 오염문제를 극복할 수 있는 물질로서, 비소의 자연저감 능력을 향상시킬 수 있는 정화처리제로 활용이 가능할 것으로 판단된다.
