  • 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 개념을 게임과 애니매이션 그리고 메신저에 응용한 3-D Pet Messenger (3PM)을 설계하고 개발하였다. 요즘 검색엔진과 뉴스 서비스를 주로 제공하던 포털들이 메신저를 기반으로 하는 포털로 변신하고 있다. 3PM은 일상어 인 메신저 기반 포털 (Portal)을 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 개념과 육성 시뮬레이션 게임을 접목시켜서 발전적인 새로운 형태의 메신저를 지향하고 있다. 육성 시뮬레이션 게임에서는 3-D Pet을 양육하는 게임으로서 사용자가 자신의 사이버 애완동물을 다른 사용자에게 보낼 수도 있다. 만일 사용자가 다른 컴퓨터로 이동하면, 그 사이버 애완동물도 그 사용자를 따라가서 필요한 최신의 정보를 제공할 수 있도록 제작되었다. 유비쿼터스 개념에 기반을 둔 메신저와 3-D 애완동물을 이용한 육성 시뮬레이션 게임이 통합되도륵 시스템이 설계되었고, Visual C++/MySQL/OpenGL/3Ds Max등의 도구들을 이용하여 시작품을 제작하였다.

A Study on the Establishment and Applications of the "News Core Thesaurus" ("뉴스 코어 시소러스"의 구축 및 활용 방안에 관한 연구)

  • This study suggests the establishment and applications of the News core thesaurus for efficient indexing and searching of news information. News core thesaurus was constructed as macrothesauri which can cover all of news subjects and then has microthesauri like politics, economy, society, culture, etc. as its subsets. In this research, News core thesaurus embodied 2,012 descriptors and 74 non-descriptors by SKOS(Simple Knowledge Organization System). It suggests measures that treat only special subjects in detail in weekly newspaper or biweekly newspaper with little information and special subjects, which is not daily newspaper, and use each microthesauri by merging or integrating in huge news archives or portal sites.

  • Recently smart device(such as smart phone and tablet PC) become a role as an information gateway, using of the web news by multiple users from the web portal has been more important things. However, the quantity of creating web news on the web makes hard to catch the information which the user wants and confuse the users cause of the similar and repeated contents. In this paper, we propose the news recommend system using the document summarization based on KoBART which gives the selected news to users from the candidate news on the news portal. As a result, our proposed system shows higher performance and recommending the news efficiently by pre-training and fine-tuning the KoBART using collected news data.

  • The representative example of the business model on internet environment, the business of the Naver, Empas and Google which provides information retrieval service is the internet portal. The portal sites provide information retrieval service which provides users information what they want to find, that is a huge social contribution. The portal site which provides a search service leads much problems. Consequently, the regulation against information retrieval is asserted powerfully in spite of the public interest. Namely, the regulation regarding the search business owner is tried. Finally, portal business owner puts the social responsibility as OSP. But, there is a doubt that portal business owner who has much problem which occurred on the portal site indirectly has responsibility directly. That is duty on portal site owner the censorship on the contents transferred. So, this thesis researches on the social critical opinion relating with a information retrieval from the legal side against the problem of the Internet.

Objectivity in Korean News Reporting : Machine Learning-Based Verification of News Headline Accuracy (기계학습 기반 국내 뉴스 헤드라인의 정확성 검증 연구)

  • 뉴스 헤드라인에 제3자의 발언을 직접 인용해 전언하는 이른바 '따옴표 저널리즘'이 언론 보도의 객관주의 원칙을 해치는지는 언론학 및 뉴스 구독자에게 중요한 문제이다. 이 연구는 온라인 포털사이트를 통해 실시간 유통되는 한국어 기사의 정확성을 판별하기 위한 기계학습(Machine Learning) 모델을 제안한다. 이 연구에서 제안하는 모델은 Edit Distance와 FastText 기법을 활용해 기사 제목과 본문 내 인용구의 유사성을 측정하고, XGBoost 모델을 활용해 최종 분류한다. 아울러 이 모델을 통해 229만 건의 뉴스 헤드라인에 대해 직접 인용구가 포함된 기사가 취재원의 발언을 주관적인 윤색없이 독자들에게 전하고 있는지를 판별했다. 이뿐만 아니라 딥러닝 기반의 KoELECTRA 모델을 활용해 기사의 제목 내 인용구에 대한 감성 분석을 진행했다. 분석 결과, 윤색이 가미되지 않은 직접 인용형 기사의 비율이 지난 20년 동안 10% 이상 증가했으며, 기사 제목의 인용구에 나타나는 감정은 부정 감성이 긍정 감성의 2.8배 정도로 우세했다. 이러한 시도는 앞으로 계산사회과학 방법론과 빅데이터에 기반한 언론 보도의 평가 및 개선에 도움을 주리라 기대한다.

A study on the effect of tax evasion controversy on corporate values in internet news portals through big data analysis (빅데이터 분석을 통한 인터넷 뉴스 포털에서의 탈세 논란이 기업 가치에 미치는 영향 연구)

  • If a company's actions to save or avoid taxes are judged to be tax evasion rather than legal tax action by the tax authorities, the company will not only pay tax but also non-tax costs such as damage to corporate image and stock price decline due to a series of tax evasion-related news articles. Therefore, this study measures the frequency of occurrence of tax evasion controversial keywords in internet news portal as a factor to measure the severity of the case, and analyzes the effect of the frequency of occurrence on corporate value. In the Korean stock market, we crawl related articles from internet news portal by using keywords that are controversial for tax evasion targeting top companies based on market capitalization, and generate a time series of the frequency of occurrence of keywords about tax evasion by company and analyze the effect of frequency of appearance on book value versus market capitalization. Through panel regression and impulse response analysis, it is analyzed that the frequency of appearance has a negative effect on the market capitalization and the effect gradually decreases until 12 months. This study examines whether the tax evasion issue affects the corporate value of Korean companies and suggests that it is necessary to take these influences into account when entrepreneurs set up tax-planning schemes.

The Effect of Social Trust and Conflict Perception on News Use (사회 신뢰와 갈등 인식이 뉴스 이용에 미치는 영향 : 지상파, 종합편성, 온라인채널을 중심으로)

  • This study analyzed the impact of social trust and conflict perception of news users on news use. To this end, 548 adults aged 20 and under 69 were surveyed online. The analysis results are as follows. First, the level of awareness of social conflict has been shown according to people's political orientation. Second, the higher the trust in society, the greater the use of news regardless of land-based, comprehensive, and online channels. Third, the perception of social conflict was related to the use of news through JTBC, TV Chosun, Channel A and YouTube. Fourth, the age and political orientation of news users influenced the use of news by channel. Finally, the more progressive the tendency was to use news through JTBC or to watch news on portals. On the other hand, the more progressive the use of news through three terrestrial broadcasters, TV Chosun, and Channel A decreased. In conclusion, this study is meaningful in terms of the user-oriented discussion of the news environment and the impact of an individual's social perception on news use.

Text mining on internet-news regarding climate change and food (기후변화 및 식품 관련 뉴스기사의 텍스트 마이닝)

  • Despite of correlation between climate changes and food-related information, it is still not easy for many users to get access to the information with interest. This study investigated how much climate change and food-related information are correlated with each other and how often they are exposed through frequency and correlation analysis on news articles on the internet portals. Through analysis on the frequency of climate change and food-related news articles, this study was able to figure out how often they are exposed at the same time by the internet news portals. In addition, a total of 59 correlation rules regarding the climate change and food-related vocabularies were derived from these news articles using the climate change and food-related glossaries. Then, a correlation between certain climate change-related and food-related words was analyzed in order to package the related words.

Statistical analysis of mobile internet news users' attributes affecting on opinion formation for social major issues (모바일 인터넷 뉴스 이용자의 속성이 정치, 경제, 사회적 주요 현안에 대한 의견 형성에 미치는 영향에 대한 통계적 분석)

  • The proliferation of smart devices (such as smart phones and tablet PCs) has led to a marked increase in the use of mobile-based internet. As a result, the influence of the mobile internet has become important to make opinions on social issues. This study explores the effects of mobile internet news users' characteristics on formation of opinions about major political, economic and social issues. We used the data from the media audience awareness survey by the Korean Press Foundation in 2016 and 2017 in this analysis. The characteristics of the news users are gender, age, education, income, news usage days, news usage hours, media application usage days, news gathering application usage days, portal usage days, and media official website usage days. These characteristics are known as possible explanatory variables for the mobile internet news users. Multiple logistic regressions were done with interpretation to know which covariates affect on formation of major opinion.

Digital News Innovation and Online Readership: A Study of Subscribers Paying for Online News (언론사의 디지털 혁신과 구독자 되찾기: 온라인 뉴스의 유료이용 경험에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, South Korean newspapers began trying to charge for online news. This study attempts to shed light on the factors that influence payment for online news by analyzing Korea Press Foundation's 2022 Media Audience Survey (N = 58,936). The results of this study showed a steady increase in past payment and paying intent for online news since 2020. Predictors of past payment for online news included gender, age, and education, and interest in political and social issues. News use through specific media (i.e., newspapers, magazines, portals, messengers, social media, video sites, and podcasts), as well as mobile applications and e-mail newsletters, were found to contribute to paid subscriptions. Based on the findings of the study, news organizations should prepare to offer differentiated news content through their own news platforms and establish concrete plans to build trust in news.
