Evaluation of Response Functions for Activation Foil-based Bonner Spheres (중성자 방사화 포일 기반 보너구 반응함수 계산 방법)

  • Activation foil-based Bonner sphere spheres are used to obtain neutron energy spectra of nuclear power plants or accelerator-produced neutrons. The position and the foil mass dependence of response functions should be studied carefully before measurement of Bonner spheres. This study showed that the normal incidence to the foil surface made a large shift of responses while parallel and isotropic incidence made no position dependence. The correlation between foil mass and response was not linear. Therefore, the response functions of activation-foil based Bonner spheres should be calculated for every different foil mass and the direction of Bonner spheres for parallel incidence will be preferred for radioactive neutron source or accelerator target produced neutrons.

  • Technically, the connotation of Typography is more than embodiments which are associated with records, keeping and expressions in languages. Therefore, it reflects a variety of social aspects based on cultures. The tendencies of modem Typography that have been confusing originate from the reaction caused by, what's called, cynical Rationalism - as a kind of characteristic. Nowadays, modem Typographic is required that it experience a new turning point with challenge and innovation. In association with the fact, it tends to be more local, compromised, dialectal, multi-cultural and anti-aesthetic. Moreover, there are multilateral tendencies concerned with generations and wealth & poverty. Consequently, the situation of modem Typographic which was regarded as an immovable role is now needed to change. The vernacular trends of Typographic changing with newer aspects is not always optimistic - it may be failure. However, at least, the experiments of it have expanded the range of modem Typographic. Therefore, the ultimate goal will be to obtain, what's called, potential data some of which are unknown to us.

Phenolic compounds in domestic and imported grape cultivars in Korea (국내산 포도와 수입산 포도의 페놀계화합물 함량)

  • In this study, fruit phenolics were investigated with using LC/MS and HPLC analysis in order to compare the differences between domestic ('Campbell Early', 'Kyoho', 'Heukbosuk', and 'Hongju SDS') and imported ('Crimson SDS' and 'Thomson SDS') grapes. In the case of fruit characteristics, imported grape 'Crimson SDS' and 'Thompson SDS', had lighter skin weight (300-350 mg/berry) and hard flesh (5.2-5.6 kg·f) than domestic grape cultivar. The phenolic compound contents of 'Crimson SDS' skin was higher, but resveratrol (25-29 mg/kg), quercetin (350-380 mg/kg), and myricetin (31-32 mg/kg) contents were similar in to those of 'Hongju SDS'. The anthocyanin content was different from differed between grape cultivars. 'Hongju SDS' grape was showed higher in Delphinidin-3-glucose (D3G) levels, and 'Crimson SDS' was showed higher in Peonidin-3-glucoside (P3G) levels. The contents of phenolic compounds were investigated differently for each grape berry part. Catechin, epicatechin, procyanidin B1, and B2 were found in grape seeds.

  • The AFFF(Aqueous Film Forming Foam : 3M Company's Light Water) agent are synthetic compounds that foams which are similar to those produced by protein based materials. The foam extinguishing agent was used In the extinguisher was the AFFF agent. We sought, however, to make other foams by using halon 1301 (CF$_3$Br) and halon alternatives, such as HCFC Blend A($CHCIF_2$ 82%, $CF_3$CHCIF 9.5%m $C_{10}$$H_{16}$ 3.75%), HFC-227ea ($CF_3$ $CHFCF_3$) We selected these alternatives instead of air in order to raise the expansion ratio of the AFFF agent. By these means we discovered that it is possible to increase the expansion ratio of the AFFF agent up to 44:1 and up to 24:1 when HFC-227ea was used as a halon alternatives. Therefore our new foam extinguishing agents can be used in a portable extinguish agents can be used in a portable extinguishers.

  • The characters' voices in the movie, Rashomon mean the absence of memories created by self-consciousness in order to avoid the crisis. The varying statements of the characters and the three spaces: the space of Nakanimon (th e ruins), the representation space as polyphony (the forest), the egoistic space of truth (the guardian), show the social ills of doubtfulness and mistrust among the Japanese at that time due to the defeat from the war. This matches with the polyphony theory of Mr. Bakhtin, a Russian cultural critic. The key concept of polyphony theory is that the voices that do not accord each other are not harmonized but each voice builds their own world and participates in the novel without being influenced by the creator. This study's aim is to discuss two aspects; Bakhtin's polypony theory allows polyphony film s to function as cinematic composition and spatial characteristics of polyphony films in the movie, Rashomon.

  • 현 포이동 성당은 가설건물로 지어져 있어 교우들의 신앙생활과 천교활동에 적지않은 어려움이 있었다. 천주교 서울대교구 포이동 교회는 이에 대지를 보다 효율적으로 활용하고 적절한 공간으로 새로이 조성할 목적으로 현상설계경기를 실시, 지난해 6월 최종 당선작을 확정, 발표하였다. 총 15개 사무소가 참여한 이번 설계경기의 최우수작에는 연미건축(손웅익)안이 선정되었다.

  • 포아송분포로부터 부의 이항분포로의 이탈을 검색하는 통계량들이 자료의 형태에 따라 여러가지 제시되었다. 그런데 대립가설인 부의 이항분포의 모수화 방법에 따라 분산과 평균의 구조가 변하고 국소 최적 검정 통계량도 달라진다는 것이 알려졌다. 본 논문에서는 대립가설을 일반적인 포아송 혼합분포로까지 확장시키고, 일반적인 형태의 분산과 평균의 구조에도 검정 가능한 새로운 통계량 L을 소개하고 있다. 또한 L 통계량은 포아송 분포로부터 부의 이항분포로의 이탈을 다루는 기존의 여러 통계량들의 일반화된 형태임을 보였다. 점근적 상대효율과 모의 실험을 통하여 L 통계량과 기존의 통계량들을 비교한 결과 분산과 평균사이의 구조에 상관없이 L 통계량이 우수한 것임을 입증하였다.
