Furthermore, it aims to analyze the characteristics of the remains. The results are as follow; 1) The number of the Japanese military secret documents concerning with the installations of Oiyang-po, summed up to 33s. Especially, 14 documents about the expropriation of the lands and houses, and the constructions of the artillery position are reserved in "Mildae-ilgi"(密大日記)written from 1893 to 1942. 2) Imperialist Japan constructed firstly the military installations of Oiyang-po against the Russo-Japanese War. After the moving of the artillery headquarters into Masan in 1911, these installations had been maintained for the defense of Busan and Jinhae Bays. 3) As soon as 1904, the lands and houses of Oiyang-po were forcibly expropriated according to (韓日議定書). The Korean Government payed the expropriation prices to the dwellers. But the amount of money were too small and were lately payed. Moreover the dwellers' fishery right were never recompensed. 4) In 1904, the artillery headquarters and position were constructed by the 3rd Chookseong-dan(築城團) under the command of Matsui, a military engineer officer. The executional constructions were accomplished by the Japanese construction contractors. 5) After the moving of the artillery headquarters into Masan in 1911, the 3rd Chookseong-dan had usually repaired and consolidated the explosive warehouses and artillery facilities. 6) The artillery position constructed with the thick concrete walls was located at the foot of the mountain in back. It's plan was similar to the rectangular shape. It reserved six 280㎜ howizers and several explosive warehouses. 7) The reserve funds and arsenal funds were used for the constructions. And the items of expenses such as the establishments of the electric lights and communication networks, and the repairs of the explosive warehouses were mainly recoded in "Mildae-ilgi".

  • Various characteristics of the object being lifted are known to affect the biomechanical, physiological, and psychophysical stresses. The object characteristics to be considered in the design process of lifting tasks are weight, shape, stiffness, and availability of handles and similar coupling devices. In this study, a prototype Polypropylene laminated bag with carrying handles was designed to decrease the physical stress of people who handle these bags. Physiological and psychophysical approaches as well as subjective ratings were applied to evaluate the effects of handles provided on the designed PP laminated bag. Statistical analysis showed that the VO2, heart rate, blood pressure, and Borg-RPE score for PP laminated fertilizer bag with carrying handles were significantly lower than those bags without handles. Moreover, Maximum Acceptable Lifting Endurance Time(MALET) measure, newly developed in this study, for bags with handles was significantly higher than those for bags without handles. It is thus recommended that the various types of bags and boxes be equipped with handles to reduce the musculoskeletal, physiological, psychophysical, and subjective perceived stresses.

  • This work has been carried out for many months to check whether polyethylene bag cocoon storging method bring better reeling result against the normal cotton bag storing method. The obtained results were as followings. 1. The pupa killed cocoons could be stored on the ground in case of packing in polyethylene-bag until the secondary dry process. 2. The raw silk percentage of cocoon stored in polyethylene bag, increased 0.5% than the cotton bag storing method, not because of its reelability, but because of the better yield of cocoon bave. 3. Musty cocoon was not shown during the polyethylene hag storage, but the cocoons were attacked by rats as usually. 4. Polyethylene bag storing method invited more insects attack than the normal method, but the attack was able to cease by enclosing two naphthalene tablets in each bag.

  • This paper aims to examine the constructional background and process of the Japanese military installations of Jisim-do, especially based on the military secret documents. Furthermore, it aims to analyze the characteristics of the remains. First, the study looked into the procedure of forcible occupation by Japan, involving the background of the designation and forcible accommodation of military reservations, and forced eviction by the purchase of land. Second, the study identified the background of construction, purpose, and construction period of each battery built throughout the 'Fort maintenance period' according to changes in international situations. Third, it is the 'Chukseongbu' that supervised the construction of fortresses. Fourth, the study considered a series of arrangement processes in which Jisim-do became a fortresses through "Yukgunsungdae-ilgi", a military operations report for the Japanese army. Through this, it discovered a clear construction process, construction details, and the supply for Jisim-do. The study was also able to reveal the meticulousness in constructing firm facilities more promptly from the 'design tactics'.

  • The Busan New harbor will be opened by 2011, after which it is expected that the marine traffic volume around this area would Increase significantly and that very large ships such as 12,000 TEU container ships would come into the port. Therefore, it is necessary to build a new ships' routeing by considering these factors. In this paper, environmental circumstances, marine traffics, and the preceding studies have been reviewed and ships' routeing is proposed through experts' opinions and Delphi technique. For the purpose of validation, the proposed ships' routeings are reviewed by several guidelines on the ships' routeing and through simulation studies.

  • The metabolism of sterol precurosor in leaves of Salanum andigena grafted between photoinduced and noninduced plant was investigated with the use of (2-$^{14}$ C) mevalonic acid. By the technique of the preparative gas-liquid chromatography, radioactive compounds of squalene, 4,4’-dimethylsterols and 4-demethylsterol were isolated and determined quantitatively. When labeled mevalonic acid n as applied to leaves radioactivity was extensively incorporated into non-saponifiable materials of lipid fraction and aqueous fraction (ethanol-water fraction). Radioactivity of 14C derived from (2-$^{14}$ C) mevalonic acid was transmissible from photoinduced plant to non-induced plant across the graft union, as tuberization hormone was, and incorporated into the sterols of the non-induced plant. Inhibitors of sterol biosynthesis, SK & F 7997 and nicotinic acid, are effective suppressors of tuber growing, if applied to leaves during photoinduction period. The experimental results suggest that certain substance containing isoprene unit, or sterol-like compound may participate in tuber growing.

  • With the development of modern science and technology, weapon systems such as tanks, submarines, combat planes, radar are also dramatically advanced. Among these weapon systems, the ballistic missile, one of the asymmetric forces, could be considered as a very economical means to attack the core facilities of the other country in order to achieve the strategic goals of the country during the war. Because of the current ballistic missile threat from the North Korea, establishing a missile defense (MD) system becomes one of the major national defense issues. This study focused on the optimization of air defense artillery units' deployment for effective ballistic missile defense. To optimize the deployment of the units, firstly this study examined the possibility of defense, according to the presence of orbital coordinates of ballistic missiles in the limited defense range of air defense artillery units. This constraint on the defense range is originated from the characteristics of anti-ballistic missiles (ABMs) such as PATRIOT. Secondly, this study proposed the optimized mathematical model considering the total covering problem of binary integer programming, as an optimal deployment of air defense artillery units for defending every core defense facility with the least number of such units. Finally, numerical experiments were conducted to show how the suggested approach works. Assuming the current state of the Korean peninsula, the study arbitrarily set ballistic missile bases of the North Korea and core defense facilities of the South Korea. Under these conditions, numerical experiments were executed by utilizing MATLAB R2010a of the MathWorks, Inc.
